Can't speak highly enough of the team at Conroys - from the first contact, to receiving the quote, to the packing, pick up, and delivery, the service was exemplary. All staff were professional and friendly. They took the stress out of our retirement move.

We were recommended Conroys by some friends and from the first contact with the reception person we were impressed with the efficiency of the service. She (Penny) made the process easy from the outset. The person who came to do the quotes (Derek) was also efficient. He was very informative and got on and did the job he came to do. Communication processes at all levels were excellent. Then came the team on moving day. Talk about an awesome group of men - (Graeme, Adam and Simon). They were friendly, jovial and easy to get along with in a stressful time. They worked well as a team, supportive of one another, were organised and knew what they were doing. They were strong, aware of health safety requirements and represented the company well. We liked the labelling process and the various levels of accountability. Thank you to all who were involved and we trust our move at the other end will be as smoothe and stress free.

I was very happy overall with Conroys. I did however have to follow up a few times with the Auckland office to check the delivery date. The delivery staff didn't seem aware of the exact day I'd been given and called me the day before. But we easily rearranged delivery for the next day. All the staff on both ends were friendly and helpful when I did get in touch.

There seems to be a lack of communication between to staff booking the jobs and those carrying out the jobs. The first truck arrived at 9am but no tools, bubble or export wrap, which were all required to pack my things. At the delivery end, again the truck arrived with no tools to assemble the furniture that needed assembling.
Also one incident of poor placement of a fragile item in the container. Two glass shelves were placed on top of a surface that was not flat and something heavy placed on top of them, so now the shelves are smashed.
Customer service at the front end was very good. Hannah listened to all my concerns and offered solutions for packing. She also offered advice on what would be difficult to pack in the container and how best to pack it.

Overall I found the Conroy experience to be great. From the initial consultation to the pickup and final delivery I only have a few tiny grizzles. It was sometmes hard to get hold of someone at the office who could answer questions, and leading up to the pickup I was unsure of when the packer(s) would arrive, and could not get that confirmed. The goods have arrived here in France, and while we are unpacking the boxes and packing is all in good condition, so I'd be surprised it there is any damage once all is uncovered. While you have no control over the destnation end, the paperwork for Europe was much more than we expected and quite painful. All in all the delivery was made in 108 days, atouch under the 16 week estimate, so well done!

"outstanding workers"
Removal staff were great at both ends of the shift. The only slight hiccup was delivery at Timaru, was organised for 8.00am - at 9.00am I rang Conroys and was put through to Christchurch branch who advised that the trailer unit had a problem and the truck was running approx. 3 hours. Whilst your man in Christchurch was apologetic I had to ring him to find out what was happening. My thanks to Tim, Jeff and driver in Napier and Scott and Brian from Christchurch. Good characters and outstanding workers.
"much consternation"
It was incredibly difficult to get timely responses to questions and status updates. No one would give me a direct phone number to converse in real time with a real person. I left voicemail messages that were never returned. To top things off when delivery was finally made there was much consternation about your contractual obligations and then one of your employees broke one of my mirror stands on one of my antique dressers. To date I have heard nothing regarding how you plan to repair or pay for repairs to the stand. I suspect I will have to file an insurance claim despite the fact you should pay for the damage.
Overall a shocking experience, poor service in Sydney with items left in cupboards and goods damaged through carelessness and neglect. The delivery team in Auckland were great but the office support staff were hopeless and even though we had items both damaged and missing we were the ones that constantly had to chase to get the issues resolved, and it felt like no one at Conroy cared, even when eventually were forced to escalate our complaint to the general manager based in Napier.
