I moved from one house to another in Lyttelton which is very hilly. I showed both locations to the sales representative who determined that due to the difficult access and over 80 steps that a smaller moving truck would be used. He advised that there would be 4 men and they would probably make 5-6 trips. I thought the price quoted was fair given the conditions. Prior to moving day a Conroy representative called to advise that the crew would be uisng a larger truck and a smaller ferry vehicle. When moving day came only 3 men arrived with a full sized truck. The men worked professionally and fast in loading the truck. Things started to get off track when they arrived at the other end. The larger truck was not able to come up the drive resulting in a 100 meter carry and then 80 steps. Eventually, after several telephone calls additional men were put on the job which finished around 5:30 pm. While I dont fault the men or their efforts I feel like I was quoted a price for a job might have gone quicker and smoother had the original plan been followed.

I booked my removal for 1pm, it was 2.30pm when the truck arrived, consequently it was long dark before the unloading was finished. Of the two men sent with the truck, the elder, who was also the man in charge,had an attitude problem and careless with loading. He tip 3 cartons off the trolley while climbing the ramp and showed no care with quality furniture which suffered chips and scratches plus knocks to door frames.
