"sung Conroys praises"
We have recommended to 2 friends recently and have "sung Conroys praises" over the past 8 years as we have been very very impressed with the service, care, and every aspect of the whole time with Conrays both when moving and in storage. Two thirds of our effects were in storage for 8 years and were delivered after all that time as if they had just been packed. Congratulations.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience with Conroy Removals moving my possessions into storage for 4 weeks whilst EQC repairs were being done. On return to my home I had a number unmarked boxes which were put in various rooms and the garage. On unpacking, boxes that were for the kitchen were put upstairs in the Master bedroom , bedroom boxes found in the garage. My microwave never made it back and is still missing and my standard lamp broken. The bed legs from one of the rooms were eventually found in a box marked Garage! . Overall, my experience using Conroy was shocking. What was most disappointing was that I had used Conroy on 4 previous occasions and all went so well which is why I chose to use Conroy again. Never again!

Conroy's provide good service in new Zealand. Robinson removals you third party representative in the UK were very poor.

Assurances were given that goods were to be railed to Napier via Palmerston North. Napier office advised on request that goods were to be delivered 8:30am approx...adjusted to later time around 9-9:30. Good work by Auckland based team under Pita.doing the load up.On delivery day,it was established that goods were still in transit at those times in the vicinity of ATIAMURI. W e had not been informed that goods were being shipped by road! Container finally arrived approx 3:00pm and all hands unloaded.
Only limited damage: 3 vintage (1920's) waterford crystal glasses out of set of 6 broken, despite heavy wrapping in bubble wrap inside a cardboard container probably unable to be replaced; one leg of wooden bedhead strained and loose and a couple of other drinking glasses. More serious to us was the scuff to a painted hallway wall by some item leaving a visible indentation at eye height...hope to be able to obtain matching paint! Excess on insurance makes it unlikely that a claim is worthwhile.

"quite disappointed with the overall service"
On a positive, the initial quote and service prior to our move was fantastic, the three young men were also polite and lovely to deal with however, in the end, unfortunately we were quite disappointed with the overall service. It took 4.5 hours to get our main furniture/white ware (as all small boxed stuff we moved) onto one truck and shift x4 minutes up the road.
We had previously moved to the address two years prior which only took just under two hours to shift and this was a 14 minute drive away so this is what we based our recent shift on. We acknowledge we had accumulated two outdoor tables and chairs since our last shift but this shouldn't have impacted too much.
The boys also spent a good 40+ minutes taking down the kids beds, had we had known this, we would have had all the beds disassembled prior to the move that morning given we were paying $165 per hour. (unless this was in fine print we are unsure?). Or, if the boys had of said something when they arrived we would have started disassembling them.
The truck also took 20-25 minutes to get to and from the address, which was only a 4 minute drive by car, we were also charged for this. Once again, we can only compare this to our previous move but the men who did our last shift (which may have been Conroys too? we can't remember) appeared to have a good sense of urgency with their work, but unfortunately we didn't get that impression with our recent move.
We even got to the stage where we were carrying the smaller items into the house to hurry things a long, given the longer they took the more money it was costing us.
Unfortunately a few items were damaged, and the screws for the kids beds were not taped to the beds upon delivery and it wasn’t until two days later when we went to put them up, that we realised they were missing. Overall disappointing, and we feel that at least one hour of the charge could have been avoidable (if we disassembled the beds, and if the truck only took the approximate travel time of 4 minutes to and from) then this would have saved us $165.
Our move to New Plymouth went so well thanks to Conroys. From the first day of packing to the arrival and unpacking everything was done so hassle free.The boys were so quick at doing their jobs and all with a smile too. Thank you Conroys for a great job.
