"carelessly loaded"
A piece of my furniture was damaged by the mover who carelessly loaded it onto the truck. I am now required to pay an excess on the damage caused, despite it being negligently done within 5 minutes of the mover handling my belongings. The move was undertaken by only one person, which required him to carry a queen size matress and base down three stories, as well as a heavy set of drawers - he requested my help to do this. It was not my understanding that I was to assist in the heavy lifting for the benefit of the company's wage costs. I do not ask client's at my business to assist me in the undertaking of my job description because I am understaffed, so I do not think it is satisfactory that the same is asked of me regarding heavy lifting. The communication from the administration team was swift and the movers (2 of them!) in Wellington were much more careful and respectful of my belongings. I would not recommend the company nor use it again given that my belongings were damaged and I was required to assist with the heavy uplift of the furniture.

Your staff actually came to my place worked hard. Thank them. But when I signed contract the person from you company said that three people will come with a truck which has a lift on the back to move the piano. That is why the total price comes out. But at the shifting day 2 people came with a truck which had only a metal plate. So it was inefficient and took longer time.

only issue we had was i had requested a 10.00am pickup, we received a call the day before to say the pickup would be 8.00am on the morning of the move the truck arrived at 7,15am which meant we were stuck in rush hour traffic.

The team of guys that arrived for moving day were incredible! We are so grateful for the excellent service we received. The guys were friendly, professional and quick! We really felt they went out of their way to make everything run smoothly. Thank you so much Conroys we would most definitely recommend your business.

Disappointed in this company that my family have used in the past with great results, but for our move really let themselves down. Our experience was awful!
"The men were ridiculously slow'
The men were ridiculously slow. They had no boxes to load, only the furniture as we had moved all the little stuff ourselves with friends and family. It took 3 hours to load. On 3 occasions the younger guy was seen sitting in the back of the truck playing on his phone - although he leapt up when he saw us. In all honesy their speed of movement could only be described as sauntering at best. They also left the televisons behind when they left so i had to get my partner to come back with his ute to get them. The attitude of the older guy was very unprofessional - some of his attempts at humour were very suggestive and my 11 year old daughter was present. He was also running down the company and the office staff and complaining about how much he hated removal work. At the end of the day when he was having difficulties getting out of the driveway he was yelling obscenities at the top of his lungs and sped away up the driveway. Although I appreciate that when one is paying by the hour one will always think it should be done faster, this was honestly ridiculous. Myself and 4 family members (from separate households) have all used removal companies more than once and we were all astounded (and getting really cross) at how long it was taking. Ater 5 and a half hours on the clock (excluding lunch) we all jumped in the truck and started moving the furniture ourselves just to get them out of here. My sister had warned me (after I had booked) that she would never use Conroys again as they were far too expensive and slow - I now feel the same. Taking 6 hours to do what they did was unfathomable!
On a more positive note, the booking process was easy and the webite is well laid out with lots of helpful information. The office staff were extremely professional, pleasant and helpful.

Good morning, apologies for late response, Last week Vodafone got around to connecting our new address/phone (3 weeks waiting) absolutely diabolical trying to work with a foreign answering service who just don’t understand simple requests and completely lacking of any initiative what so ever as well as promising to ring back and never do so, many ph calls along with being shuffled from one operator to another after waiting waiting waiting on my mobile.
Any way Conroy’s very satisfactory especially first contact follow up by Jarrett he sealed the contact other firms contacted very slow responding with sparse info well done that man.
Another big plus was Nathan's visit invaluable help especially to my wife relating to packing & preparation plus the info guides for the shift after 35 years in one locality.
Truck driver & assistants 10 out of 10 arrival on time clear instructions along with nil damage experienced & expedient.
The only thing that completely soured the experience was the office contact when after a considerable trying time I contacted the office regarding those bloody online forms to be completed, the first not a problem, second one almost a duplicate of the first just refused to accept my e-address after dozens of attempts cutting and pasting from first form not working tried all ways just would not accept my address.
Rang Napier office for help and received a lecture on e-mail addresses i.e. comers in wrong place etc
She just would not accept that we had a problem, (note that as above re Vodafone I had 148 e-mails waiting when finally hooked up have been on e-ail for yonks) instead of saying we will look in to it and get back to you Mr. Christensen. My comment - all complaints and requests for assistance are genuine unless after investigation proved to be otherwise. That person has a heaps to learn about PR should not be let loose on clients.
In desperation rang Nathan what a difference don’t worry about it Martin we have all your details great move on.
Respectfully suggest that Nathan completes all the required forms with the client when visits.

"disappointed with the administrative side"
I was disappointed with the administrative side of the service provided. I booked online specifying the delivery date and was flexible as to pick up within a few days and as long as the items were delivered on the particular date specified. These dates were not adhered to and just changed without any notice to myself. It was only at my call to the company that I was advised. It was an inconvenience as I am working full time and had arranged for someone to be present (at both the pick up and delivery addresses) on these dates to allow the movers access to the properties.
I was however extremely impressed with the movers who unloaded my gear in Wellington. It was not an easy job, they were both professional and took great care of my belongings. So for that reason alone I would use your company again in the future.
Kept in contact with us the whole time so we always knew what was happening.
