The guys who moved us were brilliant. Did a fabulous job packing and unpacking the truck. No breakages. Very professional service! Had a mix up with payment. Council was paying our moving costs. Money hadn't come through the day before so we had to pay. Council's money came through and they had our money back in our account very quickly. We're very appreciative of them actioning this so quickly as just before Christmas. Great experience all round!
* Live Freezer - we organised and travelled with a 'live' freezer - I was concerned that our gear left Auckland in the morning, arrived here early afternoon and the contents of the freezer were soft and close to spoiling - this suggests to me that the freezer had not been plugged in during some or all of its days in Auckland?
* Vague labelling - a box labelled 'lounge' or 'drawer contents' gave no indication of what was in the box - this has made unpacking frustrating - 3 days to find our vacuum cleaner pipe!
* Excessive use of paper - soooooo much paper and while I appreciate nothing has been broken in transit it really is excessive to use 2 full pieces of paper for 1 miniature teapot lid!
* A few boxes arrived with arrows going the wrong way indicating the top - others were delivered upside down.

It all went very smoothly but that is because we had already pacled a lot of stuff ourselves. If the one person sent to pack had had top pack everything the truck would not have got away for many hours later. Also, one or two boxes were not labelled (still had previous use labels) making it harder to put them in the correct place at the other end. However, nothing broken and the truck guys were very a very cheerful and efficient bunch at both ends.
The movers were fabulous, however, we had a split delivery and the South Island team did not know anything about it as the Auckland office failed to notify them. They handled it well, after some rejigging of their schedule. They were fantastic.
Better communication is needed.
Unfortunately my experience was not as I expected for a number of reasons. Having received a quote I decided to move with CONROYS as they seemed highly organised. The month before moving I paid my removal costs in full. I was then sent three online forms to complete which were not auto filled. The process was cumbersome and more complicated than it should have been. Having finally completed the forms the day to move arrived but the two guys were late. They were booked for 3pm and arrived at 4.45pm. They did not bring cardboard boxes to pack some smaller items, as quoted and paid for. I emailed Conroys for advice and phoned as well, but couldn't get hold of anybody until the following day.
While moving me out, one of the two guys was on his phone a lot. I walked outside to see how packing the truck was going and my furniture was all out in the middle of the road and spread about 10 metres behind the truck. The other removal guy was also distracted during the move and missed the back steps and twisted his ankle, which I applied ice to. I got up early the next day and bought my own cartons and bubble wrap etc. Thankfully the person who quoted the job collected the cartons the next day so it was completed eventually. I was disappointed though. I've moved households of furniture before: twice with NZ Van Lines, once with Allied Pickford, once with Efficient and once with Conroys. NZ Van Lines have been the best, hands down.
The communication from Sophie was just exceptional; I knew at all times what was going on and where my container was. I will gladly recommend your services to anyone else.
More guys for the uplift would have been better. transship at delivery would have been smoother if a more appropriate size van had been sent first.
