Very very disappointing to say the least. I would never use Conroys again, and never recommend them to anyone else. The workers we met were all really nice, but they are let down by second-rate vehicles and poor management. Lots of our furniture/personal items got soaking wet and flood damaged (despite the weather being fine on both pick up and delivery, so flood happened in transit). An old family photograph is ruined, oak furniture is water damage and many many items have had to be dried out. We are in temporary accommodation, so had planned to leave about half the boxes in storage, but have instead have had to open and check every box, and dry out affected items. The smell of wet rugs etc is awful. Conroys also changed our pick up time from 8am to 11am without telling us. This caused much stress and numerous telephone calls trying to find out why the movers hadn't arrived. This created a potential problem, as cleaners were due at 1pm. No one would take responsibility, and kept saying "someone should have called you" as if this made it ok. However, once I threatened to complain, they did pull out all the stops and got us moved out very fast, enabling the cleaners to come in more or less as planned. Several pieces of furniture got chipped, and boxes marked fragile were found upside down/partially crushed, however surprisingly, there was only one item that got smashed. We're exhausted with all the extra work from water damage and gutted that our precious household items have been treated with so little care.
Great service, very friendly and helpful. Delivered on time. Have used Conroys many times so not hesitation using them again would recommend.
Generally very good Allround service.
Overall, the experience with Conroys has been excellent. The Australian based team who quoted us and go tthings moving (literally ) = excellent, Mandeep in Auckland operations = excellent, Lisa in accounts = excellent, the Wellington ops team - excellent, Kate and the lads who moved us in - excellent. Te thing that I was most impressed with was the overall communication. Not just to us but internally, the left hand KNEW what the right hand was doing at Conroys.

Overall happy with the experience of using Conroys, great unpacking team and nothing was too much trouble. There was a miscommunication in terms of finsihing off the job - we moved in on a Wednesday and not all items were unpacked or furniture reassembled. No one from Conroys turned up on the Thursday to finish the job and I had to follow up with the Delivery Manager. Guys were already allocated to other jobs on that day so we had to wait until Friday morning for the remainder of the unpacking/reassembling to be finished. The two staff who came to help on Friday morning were excellent - worked efficiently and reassembled furniture well.
Additionally, our shipment had to be fumigated due to live spiders and grain being found in our shipment. I would have appreciated being told in advance of the fumigation about the process and the chemicals used and consulted about this, especially with Methyl Bromide being used. Consequently, we are unable to recover and use our mattresses and pillows, and if our insurance policy does not cover this cost, it will be a very large expense for us to have to pay for.
