Our experience with Conroy has been a nightmare.
Damaged items, poor communication, significant delays, cigarette butts packed in our belongings, open pocket knife in our belongings, items were missed, including a whole kitchen cupboard and a new expensive vacuum, items were packed which were clearly marked not to be. Not only that, the uplift team was inadequate and the truck was faulty, meaning the staff complained the whole time. The two removalists that unloaded us in Australia were lovely and helpful.

The initial Sales contact was pleasant and professional. Subsequent calls to Auckland Admin were rude and unpleasant. The team that packed us in Tauranga were fantastic. There was a well-documented incident of one of your team members tearing across the adjacent children's playground in his ute and then telling my neighbour to F$#K off when she confronted him, all while standing in front of a Conroy truck wearing a Conroy uniform. Not a great look for your brand.
But my biggest gripe was unloading in Auckland. The truck was an hour and a half late with only two guys showing up. The truck they had was inadequate for the job. Having a lazy axel meant the truck could not reverse down the long driveway (even though this was stipulated on our paperwork). This meant the guys had to walk up and down a long steep driveway all day.
And when I mean guys that included myself. I ended up spending the day unloading because if I didnt they would have been there all day.. 2 additional guys did come but only for a couple of hours. It was quite frankly ridiculous. I wonder if Conroy wants to pay my hourly rate? Because while I was unloading your truck I wasn't doing my job. What would have happened if my wife was managing the move instead of me?
Barry was excellent. He offered to put all the beds up but by this stage it was late in the day so we did one and I sent him home. Poor bloke had to do another job and drive back to Tauranga. That guy was quite frankly let down by Auckland.
I have a logistics background. Ive spent 25 years around depots and warehouses. My advice is that you should send your planners out on jobs from time to time so they understand the challenges the guys on the ground face daily.
Finally, my TV's were smashed, the furniture chipped and yes I have insurance but didnt need the hassle of dealing with all that.
I bet this feedback isnt published on your website for everyone to read!!
Awesome
HUGE KUDOS to Conroy. Christine was fabulous. Brian and his sidekick were AMAZING. Fast friendly efficient and funny. Same to the Christchurch crew who did the delivery. Would recommend anytime. Dispatch was behind the eight ball for not staying in contact enough but everything else was awesome. Cheers guys. Lindy Wi
My move had two stages - the majority of my contents were moved from Chc to Oamaru, and a bed was coming from Akl to Chc to meet with the Chc to Oamaru truck. LeeAnne in the office had excellent communication and was great to deal with. I rung the Akl depot on the morning of the bed uplift to double-check that everything was on track and found out that they had overlooked the move instruction. I explained the difficulty / urgency of my situation, and Timothy, the Akl Operations Supervisor, diverted a truck to pick up the bed and updated the instruction to ship it to Oamaru instead (advising me it wouldn't be in Christchurch in time). Grace and Sydney packed my contents in Chc, moved everything (fridges, beds, washing machine, tables etc,) up a hill and into their truck, drove the truck up and down our hill including the hairpin bend, and got the contents safely to Oamaru and into the house. The bed arrived 3 days after the rest of my house contents. Unfortunately I was back in Christchurch when the delivery driver, Craig, rung to advise he was ready to deliver the bed. When I explained that I was in Christchurch, he located a spare key and moved the bed into my room for me. So,whilst there was a hiccup with the Akl part of the move, the Conroy staff pulled out the stops to put things right.
Loved the constant updates and our stuff was not damaged in any way, from Italy to NZ!
Good service... But when the truck turned up it was smallish and we couldnt get everthing in. we thought they would probably do two loads, but once they had unloaded the first load they said they were booked on another job. so we haven't managed to get everthing shifted..
I used Conroys when moving from Wellington to Christchurch and had no issues at all. This time around my dining table was damaged just getting onto the truck (the only large item that needed to be moved) and my shared mailbox hit as the truck was leaving. Not a lot of confidence in how my stuff will be delivered once it comes out of storage - not a lot of care taken with posessions/property as presume insurance will cover it. On the plus side the guys were friendly.
5 stars go to Brian and Taylor who moved us. These guys were fantastic. However it was more than annoying that from the time of booking our slot back in early December, we were very clear of the access problems our steep and winding lane gave to larger trucks. I pointed out that a furniture delivery boxed truck can access our front address as it has on many occasions. So when the delivery team arrived in the largest 50 ft van, no one has listened to what I'd said. The guys walked up the lane to the address, and my Husband pointed out a rear gate that led to a reserve we back onto. So making for a longer and harder pack up of the van, everything was taken over a reserve to the van on the street. Very disappointing, as I'd explained the access and know exactly what can and can't get up in height width and length. This truck was the most inappropriate van for the job. It was only the hard work and problem solving skills of Brian and Taylor that got us moved that day.
Amazing
Lovely guys and amazing service!
Great
The two guys we had were great, they had a big job to do and got stuck in with our 3 bedroom full move. There was alot to move and we got in there to help with everything. Good fees at the end of it too.
Great service, so impressed with standard of packaging and helpful staff members. Would highly recommend.
