Friendly helpful guys
"Went down hill"
The guy who did the quote was approachable and helpful and the lady helping arrnage the move was very good at keeping us in the loop.
On the day, depsite confirming a start time with me, the pack up crew were late and it went down hill form there.
We had about eight to twelve different crew people cycle through our house over the two days it took to pack and didn't know from one moment to another who was going to be there the next.
Even more concerning was the penchant for the crew to go off site and simply leave the property unlocked even though I repeatedly said to ring me a little bit in advance (I was at work about 10 mins drive away) so I could get home before they left. Apart form the obvious security concerns, this resulted in about a box worth of stuff being left behind in an overlooked cupboard.
Apart from the issue of the crew turning up with no tools to disassemble furniture, the quality of packing varied across the crew as follows:
- - some had no problem talking on their phone for half an hour telling their mates how they were going to take down the people who had stolen their car or some such thing over the preceding weekend, a conversation filled with all kinds of language that my wife had to listen to as she was packing up some items of her own.
- - some had no problem using cups from a crockery set I had been presented in Korea as a memento gift, for their coffee mugs for their morning tea,
- - some did not see any problem putting sticky tape directly onto the surfaces of our furniture so that it left gum marks behind when we went to unpack and reassemble it,
- - some who disassembled furniture had no problem putting the screws in random places so that on arrival and unpacking we had to go on a treasure hunt through boxes and drawers to try and find the various screws etc.
- - the packing and labelling was somewhat ad-hock in that we basically had to upack all the boxes form every room in order to get enough linen and cutlery unpacked for us to live in the new house.
In addition to the above I had to pick up a number of drink bottles and food wrappers at the end of the pack up job.
The Operations people did a really good job in trying to keep our stuff moving so we didn't;t have to pay for it t go into storage, however when it came to arranging the delivery things fell apart. Despite calling in each day for a couple of days in advance and telling the team that I was about 20 mins drive away form the property, I was told it could be one day or another, yet I still got a call from the driver expecting me to be at home late in the afternoon so he could start emptying the truck! This was not really an option in the remaining daylight, however had he give me even half an hours notice I could have been there.
The deliver was possibly the most disappointing aspect. I only met the driver and one hand, while the rest of the crew arrived after I left for work and before I got back to sign the forms. It also appears that the unpack crew took little care in how they placed items in the house. So far the damage list includes:
- damage to the beading that holds the glass pane in the front door to such an extent that the beading will have to be replaced and repainted,
- damage to the lip on the bottom shelf appearing to come from a heavy box being dropped on it and snapping off a splinter approx 450mm long and about 50mm wide at its widest point,
- the leg of the dining table being snapped off at the bolts (possibly from the table being tipped over by pivoting on the leg rather than lifting it up and turning it over in the air),
- a coat rack being snapped despite the fact that it was a flat pack rack that could easily be disassembled,
- minor damage to the front garden, possibly form someone falling into it or dropping something into it.
On the up side, the driver was quite approchable and stayed on for and extra 30 mins after completing the unload so I could get home before they left.

We had Marus and Ben helping us the day we moved. They were awesome, nothing was to much trouble, the move went really well, and boy did they work hard. It was a busy day they were meant to stay in Kaikoura the night and move us in the next day, but it all went soo well we were moved and unloaded by about 5pm that same night and that was thru some help at the loading end but boy they seemed to run all day, they were really hard workers. Would certainly use your company again and recommend you to others. Kind Regards Dianne

"Communication at delivery point was poor"
Service in Auckland was great and the boys who dropped furniture off in Napier were very efficient, however communication at delivery point was poor (no one called in morning to give approximate time of delivery and no one called 30 min prior to delivery to advise drop off so the guys had to wait 20 mins while we drove to the delivery address). Also why do you use those cheap, awful stickers to label everything? We have had a terrible time removing them, especially the ones stuck directly on our wooden furniture! For the price you charge surely you can use easy to remove labels!
