"very depressed and frustated"
"Lovely guys - very helpful"
Lovely guys - very helpful. The only negative was losing three hydrangea bushes when the truck backed in.
"could not ask for any better"
Very good move, excellent service, the movers were careful, friendly and hard working, could not ask for any better.

We had Ants come in to part pack the house. He was very efficient and nothing was an issue for him.
"All in all is was a great experience"
You are lucky to have such a team of very hard working friendly workers. And I do mean mean workers as they work their guts out to wrap and load all that awkward stuff. Personally I think you ask too much of them and then at the last minute you come up with some more workers to help them out as the time is getting critical. I don't know about the legal timelimits but I wonder if you are sailing close to the wind.
All in all is was a great experience to deal with your staff in the office and your workers on the road. Thank you.
Cheers

"I won't recommend Conroys on my experience"
The office staff and pre move contact were super and I felt confident things would go well. Wrong. Although strong, the movers dropped my bed breaking a section of wood off. When confronted, one mover tthen denied they had done so, even though it was heard by all people helping me move. If they had come to us immediately and admitted it, plus shown me the broken piece, we would have thought more of their service. Once at our destination they unloaded and placed large items covering the side door of the garage so it couldn't be opened. When this was pointed out the attitude of one mover was defensive and a little surly. They put a chest of drawers against a bedroom wall with the drawers facing the wall. It wasn't going to be the final position for the drawers (because the bed had to be fixed so furniture was placed in the other room to leave space) but it still would've made sense to leave acess to the drawers. Although every box was labelled with its destination room ie bed1, 2, kitchen, garage etc they didn't bother to read labels and put things randomly unless directed by helpers. So it goes on... but it wasn't all bad. The 'leader' was friendly and polite, although as he was in charge of the move, as 'boss', he should have overridden the attitude of the surly employee, and admitted mistakes were made and apologised. All family and friends present during the move were amazed by the above events and felt sorry for me choosing Conroys. Shame. I won't recommend Conroys on my experience. The 2 stars are for the office staff. They actually deserve more but it's an overall rating. As for ticking the box on this review for a response from management, hopefully these reviews are read and acted upon regardless of a box to tick.
"not impressed"
The two young guys were pleasant to deal with but I was not impressed to see the way they treated our furniture and our home.
The entertainment unit was damaged and units were moved with drawers in place and these were opening and being slammed shut. The wall in our house was gouged as they tried to move the first set of drawers and our beautiful wooden floors in the front entrance way were scratched. They said nothing to me about the damage.
My move had some complications in that I was away for the pack-up and storage was to be for approx 3 months. I was told all would be put into a container, stored and then delivered to my new home in the said container. However, the container supplied was too small (even though the volume had been assessd) and some furniture and boxes etc were sent to storage separately. Apparenly these were not stored with the container and were not delivered with the bulk. This might be acceptable were it not for the attitude of the Christchurch staff who fobbed me off, told me I should have had insurance for such things, passed me to various people, did not return calls and had a 'could not care less' attitude. Each member blamed their colleagues for the fault and, until I eventually got the South Island Manager, (Rodney), nobody would take responsibility. Some of the items were located (after 2 weeks) and delivered but still, many were not found. The end result was that I had many items not delivered and have been told that they are lost. The items were a King duvet inner and cover, dry foodstuffs, spirits, wine, beer and a number of boxes I had packed myself (PBO). Estimated value would be between $500 and $800. I was given a measly $100 compensation because I did not have insurance. (I thought the insurance cover was for breakages or loss through no fault of anyone and the excess seemed exhorbitant). I accepted this $100 to simply end the matter as I was getting very depressed and frustated.
