My move back to NZ from Adelaide happened very quickly but was made so much easier by Conroys which included AMG in Adelaide. I was kept informed right through the whole process and both Conroys and AMG ensured I didn't have to worry about anything, which included assisting me with the import documentation requirements necessary to ship my vehicle back to NZ in the same container as my household goods. I found all the staff I dealt with to be very professional, friendly, helpful and informative. This is the first time I have used Conroy's and I would certainly move with Conroys again. I cannot speak highly enough about the excellent service I have received and I absolutely recommend Conroys to anyone who wants a stree-free move! Naomi Andrews - Christchurch, NZ.
Nicole (I think that was her name, who organsied everything on the phone) - was wonderful!! Can't fault her at all.
Sadly, the actual removal process itself did not go well. Nicole had checked with the schedulers, and told me to expect Conroy around half 10 - this was vitally important for me because I had other movers bringing the majority of my belongings from Auckland so hard to work with them too, and the items were at my ex partners house, so we had to be discrete and sensitive as to when to pick them up .
I was called at 9am from your driver asking if I was home because he was ready to come by. I explained that no, I wasn't, I had been told 1030, and that I couldn't come any earlier due to the above reasons. It was agreed upon that we would meet at Hospital terrace at 1030. I explained to them that I had never sent an inventory of items to be collected to you as it was such a small job.
I checked my phone at 1010, and I had missed a call. I called the number back and it was your driver who was calling to ask for the address and if we were home, because he had been to the Hospital terrace address, and already done the uplift. I found this shocking, highly inappropriate and unprofessional, considering I had explained the above reasons to him on the phone. This was distressing for me, considering that the separation with my partner is recent and things were still raw.
They dropped the things off at my place and unsuprisingly, they had missed some things, particularly my mattress... They had also picked up some things that were not supposed to come. They did happily drive back to retrieve the mattress, but all of this would have been avoided if they had come as agreed. It was also nice that there was no pushback from any of your staff when I asked that this extra time not be paid for.
I was told on accepting the quote, that I needed to do a bank transfer or pay by card at the time of the removal. On questioning your driver, he said no and that I needed to contact head office to sort this out. Obviously I am fine with this, but it might be a good idea to make sure your drivers know the correct process.
All in all, I was really disappointed, which is a shame as the service from everyone else was otherwise impeccable.
