Had to call to find out time
The removal men where great .the women I delt with before hand was not ,she forgot to send packing boxes and emailed me she would let me know what time truck would arrive.by 3pm the day before I had not heard and then had to ring up myself.the before was not great but removal was fine.
"easy to talk to to organise things"
Thanks for the good work. The guys (Adam, Scott, Steve) were very friendly, easy to talk to to organise things. There were a few things left in the house so they probably needed to do a final sweep of the place before they left, and we did need to organise to get a key back which they forgot to give back to us (and we didn't ask for again before they left) - but we got that sorted without too much more trouble the next day. Thanks again though, God bless
"Overall we were pleased"
The guys didn't manage to get everything packed and in the van before 12:00pm to leave vacant posession as agreed. I think this was due to one man doing most of the packing and generally two men loading the van. Could have probably done with three to four men for both days to speed things up. Adam was great and communicated with us well in terms of time frames and progress. It was great two extra men turbed up to help unload and got the job done quickly and efficiently. Overall we were pleased with the service we received.
"disappointed with damage"
We were disappointed with damage that was done to some of our furniture.
The packing there was no logical sequence where you would expect all the items from a cupboard to be in numerical order.
"appeared to be a bit tired"
Always had a good bunch moving us however these guys appeared to be a bit tired and were heard hearing them complain bit about moving certain items when asked. Got the impression it was all a bit inconvenient. Not sure if they were joking or not. Also, we expected people to turn up to Oakford Close @ 8.30am the day before the move as arranged by the Ch Ch ops people, they got there 45 mins later. Not on as we had work to go to.
Had to keep checking of the status of my shipment
Everything arrived at the other end as well packed as when they came to move me. Good updates on pre-customs and quarantine clearance and another update on the name of my transport ship and when it was due to sail. However after that there were no updates on the status of my shipment during transit and no update was sent when my shipment arrived. I was only updated when I made contact several days after it arrived. And I had to continue checking on when my goods would actually be delivered. Upon delivery, not a great deal of help putting the furniture that they had disassembled back together. Apparently the delivery trucks don't carry a full set of tools for this, although pick up trucks seem to. But everything received fine.
Poor communication on Delivery
While the staff doing the actual moving of the furniture were fantastic, I found the communication regarding the pick up/delivery was poor
Poor communication
The customer sevice at the beginning with Derek Purver in Christchurch to the the guys that came to pick up my stuff in Christchurch was absolutely great. Conroys had the best competitive price and thought that it was awesome that you supplied the packing boxes. The experience in between to the end was absolutely poor. I was disappointed as i rung on Tuesday 19 Sep to organise a time for delivery which was already confirmed for Monday 25 September. Conroys said they will ring me on Friday 22 September to organise a time(I wanted to request a morning delivery),come 5pm no-one had rung and i ended up ringing Conroys as to then they said someone from dispatch will ring at 7:30am on Monday 25 September(Delivery day) I thought thats okay they might deliver in the morning.Come Monday they rung me at 9am or 10am to say that they will deliver mid-day.Come 1:30pm-2pm delivery still had not come so i rung conroys again to get an update on time of arrival. They said delivery will be 3:30pm as to which they arrived at 3:45pm.I had to be at the airport at 4:30pm so it became rushed.I was absolutely ****ed off as a few of my family took time off work to help with the move and it was an absolute waste of time. That last part of my experience ****ed me off as to why i scored low on in the above questions. I said no to using the services again but its more a Maybe but that wasnt an option.
"Miscommunication"
Miscommunication must be taken into consideration. Customer calls must be picked up to clarify the situation. Priority to customer must be adopted as core subject.
Needed to be kept informed
The Consignment was promised to be delivered on a Tuesday, but when I rang on Tuesday evening I found out the package had not left Auckland. No-one contacted me at all, I was given no information as to why. It took day to get that sorted and then delivery was scheduled for Thursday 10am. Note that you had the packages for 6 days by this stage. The delivery was late again, but no-one called me again. I sent an email querying where the packages were, only to be told the truck was held up due to an accident. However the driver told me it was clear the whole way. The packages were finally delivered by 12.30. What was required was better information from the operations team with updates on late or delayed deliveries. The contents were not urgent so the delays were ok, but only if we have been kept informed as to where and why.
"several items damaged"
We have found several items damaged including a crack in our roll top desk and a leg broken off one of our cabinets. A fragile lamp that I had requested to be specially packed was wrapped in blanket and is damaged. We haven't finished unpacking yet but I experienced less damage when I moved to nz from overseas.
I had absolutely excellent service from Deborah who quoted the job and liaised with me throughout. She was flexible and responsive and a standout employee. However after that things went a bit wobbly. On the day of the move while the guys were very helpful they really need to brush up on professionalism. I was moving out due to my mum's bereavement after 32 years in my house and didn't really need to hear the vivid, expletive laden (nxxxxr/mxxxr fxxxr etc), gory stories of their mate's latest MMA fight all morning. More concerning was that I kept hearing comments the van was not being packed properly and that their colleague "didn't know what he was doing". This turned out to be true when damaged item after damaged item was pulled out at the other end. When I looked in the truck I saw clearly labelled fragile boxes squashed under book boxes, and other boxes jammed in until crushed. Three items of furniture were also damaged, one beyond repair. I am actually too scared to open some boxes as I have already had bits of broken china fall out. Your off load colleagues (Sam and Ra) were more professional and focussed and did what they could to deal with a difficult and awkward situation. They also expressed concern - a number of times -that the load did not seem to be packed correctly. I cannot do much about the damage. I packed it myself and had my own insurance which is not worth triggering. I will say that the damage was not a result of my bad packing, or handling per se but there were definitely issues with loading as confirmed by two lots of your staff. All in all a very mixed experience!
