We were happy with the overall move however we didn't appreciate them using our stuff for packing/ repacking storage boxes into other boxes/ mixing rooms in different boxes/ unloading boxes into wrong rooms after we had all boxes room coded/ helping themselves to our bottled water that was stored in the garage without asking.

Apart from being late and going to wrong address the move itself was good.
"went without a hitch"
The removal on 16 April was of our fridge and washing machine. The fridge was slightly marked during the move and when placing it in it's new position some marking occurred to the wall adjacent to the new location. Not enough damage to warrant a claim. The remainder of our goods were removed on 17 April and went without a hitch. I appreciated that the movers called for back up rather than attempt to move a piano by themselves with the risk of damage.
A few small issues that added to the stress of moving
The time origianlly agreed on for the truck to arrive at my place was 8am. I received a phone call the day before, advising there was a small job that would be done first so the time would change to between 8.30 and 9am. I was fine with that. It was after 10am before the truck arrived, I was not fine with that. This was not the fault of the removal men that the job took longer than thought. It was annoying to me to be waiting and then the natural consequence was not finishing until later in the day. I was told they would bring a box to put my television in, which I phoned and reminded the office of the day before. No box was provided. Perhaps small things but added to the stress of moving, they were annoying and seem inefficient. The removal men did an excellent job, they were careful and efficient.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to submit this feedback I HAVE to select either yes or o to the use your services again and recommend. I would prefer a third option of MAYBE or PERHAPS.
"unnecessary damage to our belongings"
As a Kiwi I find it very distasteful to say that the Australian side of our move with Conroys far superior to here. So far we are up to delivery no3 and still do not have all our items. Oh MAF have had them. Yep they did but that was weeks ago. You've had our gear in storage for over a month. We have also had totally unnecessary damage to our belongings. Upon opening one of the containers we were meet with a tangle of our garage racking which in turn gouged a table and broke it's legs. Couch leg broken,speaker stands destroyed. The packing of this container was to me done with absolutely no regard for our belongings. Sure we are insured but now Im faced with a day at best running around to get quotes. By the way thats not all the damage. Time to have a talk to your packers.Cheers Dave Butler

"Would have been more happy if they had provided tools"
All in all a good move however there were some rub marks on bar stool legs and bedside tables as they were not wrapped / covered prior to the move. The Dryer sustained a chip in the paint on the top of it due to some object being placed directly on it and subsequently rubbing the paint off during transit. More specific detail on the contents of boxes would have been preferred, especially with kitchenware.Items were packed exceptionally well. Packers and movers were extremely helpful, they set up the bedframe and table when unloading. Would have been more happy if they had provided tools.

Please read the 2 x "Yes"above as maybes.
In general the guys on site were fantastic and worked incredibly hard to get everything done for us. We understand that a move is a logistical juggling act but:
- Packers on Day 1 left at 3.30pm without having been able to complete the pack - we had specified that there was more in the apartment than appeared at first glance;
- Packers paper work specified delivery date of 16/3/18 rather than 15/3/18. I called Peter to confirm the delivery date was 15/3/18, it was, and provided the off-site collection address for Day 2;
- Crew for Day 2 included only 1 packer, 1 driver/stacker & 1 runner - we had specified extra crew needed because of access issues/steepness;
- Day 2 crew were unaware of off-site storage collection requirement;
- Truck was full before off-site storage items were collected;
- Consultant texted to get off-site collection address - provided again;
- Day 3 Peter telephoned (7.58am) to get off-site collection address (again), told me ferry vehicle was being dispatched for off-site collection & "big truck" was on the way to Otaua;
- As "big truck" was already on the way to Otaua I had to arrange for my husband to drop the keys for off-site storage at the facility & for staff to open the storage unit on arrival of ferry vehicle so I could get to Otaua in time;
- 10.00am (having been at Otaua for an hour) I phone Peter to find out where the truck which was "on its way" was. I had to leave a message & am still wating for a response;
- 10.38am "big truck" arrived & was deployed about half way down the drive;
- 11.00am ferry vehicle arrives but, as it was disptached to off-site storage half-full with someone else's delivery, only half the off-site storage collection has been made;
- Second-hand boxes were used and previous labelling was not always struck out. In some (feels like most) instances our contents were not labelled on the boxes and (about) half the boxes asked to be colour coded for easy identification had not been. Seriously, we opened a box labelled "Glasses" which contained gumboots, artwork, linen and books - each of which came from a different room in the apartment and none of which were glasses. This is probably a result of not finishing the pack on Day 1 and being pressured on Day 2 but it is frustrating when we needed to leave the "non-esstential" items packed until the renovation is completed and are now having to go through each box to identify essential items and repack non-essentials;
- At the end of Day 3 Charles (driver of ferry vehcile) arranges for the remainder of the off-site collection to be uplifted the next day and, because it is my birthday and we have plans, agrees that he will phone when he is on the way so we will be at the house;
- 8.50am Day 4 ferry vehcile with different crew arrived unannounced at Otaua; I'm still in bed (it's my birthday) and my husband is on a call to Spain;
- Ferry vehicle has been dispatched half full to off-site collection again and crew do not seem aware of what is my load; I arrive to stop them unloading and stowiing items which are part of the part load which has been in the truck for 2 days now and was not ours.
The crews were great, very obliging and worked non-stop and, so far, we have had only 1 broken bottle of wine (in a box they did not pack). The logistical organisation on the other hand was very disrupted and communication was not good.
Disappointing Delivery
While the pick up in Hastings was pretty efficient, the delivery in Nelson was disappointing. A wasted afternoon was spent in an empty house awaiting delivery. After being advised that the delivery would happen about 1.30: then 3.30 then 4.30, at 4.45 my call to the Nelson branch was finally answered first by someone in the Auckland office and and then transferred to Christchurch where the helpful man I spoke to told me the truck with my furniture was heading my way, not from the depot but from an edge of town delivery. It finally arrived at around 5.15 on Friday evening, the hour when most workers are ready to knock off and have a drink. On a hot Nelson evening I’m sure knocking off was more important to the delivery men than best practice offloading of my furniture and effects. A male friend who I had co-opted to help me( and who to my embarrassment had wasted his afternoon ) helped the driver and his offsider unload the cartons from truck. In their haste to get my scotch chest around the difficult stair corner rather than take the drawers out and manoeuvre the lighter carcass, ithe delivery men forced it around, damaging not only the drawers but also putting scrapes and a hole in my freshly painted wall. Two oily stains were also made on my brand new carpet. Other pieces of furniture showed evidence of less than careful treatment and three boxes marked "fragile" had deep gouges in them although the contents were undamaged. It was almost as if marking a box 'fragile' singled it out for rough treatment- I’ve never before had boxes gouged when moving house. Many of the cartons Conroys supplied were marked” Allied Pickford; the careful movers”. I wondered after this experience whether I’d chosen "the careless movers." I was disappointed at the damage to my furniture and to the house that I’d just had repainted and carpeted ( as a precaution I’d covered all the floors except the stairs where having loose covering would have been dangerous). I realise that Friday’s are the busiest day of the week for furniture removals but to be given ever later delivery times meant that the whole afternoon was wasted waiting for the truck. If I’d known at 1 pm that it wouldn’t arrive until 5 much better use could have been made of the time and I wouldn’t have inconvenienced my friend. While I was happy that the delivery men worked after 5 pm to deliver my effects I wish that they had taken the same time and care that I suspect they would have taken had they been making the delivery at 9am. ( this is not a user friendly review site- it is difficult to reread and edit as only the last line of writing shows- even when editing the top of the page)
The guys showed up unaware it was a split move. They were ill prepared for wet weather and it was very wet. The ferry truck that was despatched to support the main truck which could not get up the driveway at the new property, was also unable to get up the driveway party due to excess surface water but it was the wrong truck for the job as it was too big as well. In the end out entire pickup was taken back to the Conroys depot and we had to find overnight accommodation at a neighbours place. The guys turned up the next day and completed the job other than we understood they would unwrap the items they had wrapped but they did not. The guy who did the wrapping on day one did not return on day two so that might have been the reason. Trevor was the main man and he was great as were the two other guys who were here on day two.
Part two of our move is scheduled for Monday May 7th. Unfortunately we have a different driver coming. We have repeatedly asked for specilist wrapping material as promised by your assessor but nothing has arrived as yet. We are optomistic sufficient wrapping will arrive Monday.
