Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersWe have been disappointed with the labelling on the boxes since delivery. The labelling on boxes should have stated the name of each room and its contents - this was not always the case and it appeared that some items were just taken to fill a box void from another part of the house. Larger wooden items were affected by dampness while in storage which was something we had not expected. Maybe a warning to customers would be a good idea. If delivery happens on a rainy day maybe wiping off the rain water/drops is a good idea particularly on lounge furniture and solid wood furniture.
Workers were friendly and accidents do happen but if they happen an offer to report damage should be offered and not just a quick apology- "sorry'.
Our shipment took almost half a year to get to NZ from Europe. Obviously it is not Conroy's fault, I understand the international conditions (terrorist activities on Red see, etc).
My problem was that there were no proper tracking, we did not have a clue where are our shipment was or when we can expect it, I always had to beg for information which was not always provided after my request. The tracking link in the email is a fake data are hardcoded into the URL as parameters, which is also a kind of misleading info.
The most important thing: we got all of our belongings, which is great. That is why the 3 star I gave. The lack of the communication caused headache and additional effort to chase the people at Conroy that is why I would not recommend Conroy to others and I would check whether other company exists with better customer service next time.
This is the third time that I have moved with Conroy's as we have always had a great experience with them. Unfortunately, this time the experience wasn't as good. Our move was under quoted by over $1000 which meant that our furniture was held to ransom until we made payment. Luckily we were able to cover this however, not everyone would be able to in similar circumstance. We also had items that were broken including out TV. Despite this, the uplift and drop off teams were fantastic.
It was disappointing that instructions were not followed. Cost of moving was high. I have moved several times with Conroys and a discounted price would be good for customers who use you several times. Packing of the container was excellent. Delivery people were great in challenging conditions.
Overall it was okay. Conroy was the last company to handle our household in NZ coming from oversea. The communication before the container arrived was good and also everything that related to Biosecurity. The huge minus was that they failed to make an appointment for the delivery. Despite calling Conroy a few times no one called back and my wife got a surprise hello from the Conroy team without prior notice. For the customer it is neccersary to know when 20feet of household arrives. The two workers handled the also confusing situation for them good and made a great job loading everything in our garage.
If it was not for the hiccup with the communications with receiving two different quotes under the same reference number when it was initially asked for two, one being pack and move, the other just to move so we could decide what we went with. When the job was accepted it happened to be when the second quote was finally sent (2 weeks after the initial quote) that was for the move only but we were confirming to pack and move but it fell through some gaps and was never followed up or checked. Thankfully on the Friday before the move the following Monday it was sorted when the error was discovered. It was a few very stressful hours wondering what we were to do but Conroy's came to the party and provided an excellent service from that point onwards. The packers and movers were fantastic to work with and the service delivered as promised.
Crushed boxes and damaged goods.
I ordered couch and bed plastic wrapping which the movers did not have. This was an issue because these were going to be kept in an open shed for a month as I explained when I booked. The movers themselves were friendly, but didn't appear to have a lot of experience getting awkward shaped furniture out the door.
The statement said that beds and couches were to have plastic covers but that did not appear to happen. Some things were not packed and needed a second load. Overall staff were helpful especially at unload time.
The inital meeting and house inspection was great but they did not check the delivery address as i requested to ensure they could get the truck down the driveway.
The hand over to Rachel who was our coordinador was seemless and easy
Payment was easy and simple and went through ok.
The wrapping team were late but once there extremly quick and efficant.
The removal team arrived introduced themselves and quickly got on with loading our furniture, But they did however drop a set of drawers and damaged another set.
I mentioned this to the delivery person who said it was cheap stuff though, this was not cheap stuff and luckly i could carry out repairs to the drawers, the other set will need a light sand and lacquor. They also left some items in the rain and were slow to cover them or move them inside, once in the garage i wiped them down.
They were friendly and happy but hard to communicate with whilst wearing headsets to listen to there music.
Overall Conroys provided a good service not excellant but good.
Was a bit disappointed as the truck wasn't big enough for our gear and we ended up having to some of our own trips . I had done the inspection with the lady who quoted and did mention all our gear but some was not on the list . Also I very disappointed that going through some boxes there was linen in with stuff from the fridge which all had to be thrown out . Labelling was minimal .
