Needed a Time Frame
The intial booking pocess was great, however, we were told that we would be advised the day prior to pick-up that we would be told what time the truck would arrive. Essential info in our case as 1 hour travel time was required for us to be there. I could not reach anyone until 6am morning of, which was very frustrating. Also, truck was then 2 hours later than the time given. The men doing the job were friendly, quick and professional. Would use service again, but wouldn't rely on Conroy to contact me with truck time, or rely on truck to turn up at stated time.
"very personable and obliging"
Found the personnel very personable and obliging. At both ends the truck was late - in pick up it was around 2 hours late which meant that the second removal firm had to wait. Nothing was lost but the leg of an expensive leather lounge suite was damaged. Currently putting in a claim form.
"less than satisfactory"
I am really unsure whether I would use your service again if there were an alternate available, my experience of moving goods from Auckland was apalling, your Napier office on the other hand, were very good and promised and delivered good service (apart from a few breakages) on our local move but again the move from Napier to Hamilton with only 12 items was not without incident, we were told to expect delivery about 4 to 5pm on Monday 12th, we rang twice to make sure of times, were then surprised by your driver turning up at about 1.40pm without chaning the time with us, lucky there was someone there to take delivery of goods, but the luckiest thing was that there were 2 young lads there who could offload the goods as the single driver you sent was not able to, this is ridiculous as your service included "Delivery to destination and placement of items", this did not happen we had to move all the stuff into the rooms oursleves, very unsatisfactory. Your service is not cheap, it therefore needs to be good and you need to do what you say you will, but 2 out of 3 of experiences with you in last 3 or 4 months have been much less than satisfactory, great shame.
"mixed experience"
I had a very mixed experience using Conroy Removals. I was provided with an excellent quote service and the team who moved me from 14 West Quay were great . JP, Hux,Justin, Alberto assisted by Churton,Jacob,Dan Matt and Tim were great particularly. The first four guys who really stepped up moving my container and a half. Unfortunately my move back into my new Apartment was stressful as only three guys were put on the job. They were totally understaffed for such a big job. Tim in particular really was pushed lifting and moving furniture without assistance. Because there were only three guys on the job it took all day to move my furniture. There should have been more manpower provided on the day or changed the date of my move to when Conroy’s could provide enough manpower. The collection of boxes also took longer than it should have. The final comment I have is that way too much paper was used in the packing of my goods. While I appreciate the need to protect my articles there was an over kill on the paper department creating more boxes to be used.i base this comment on having moved around the world and many times within NZ.
Better Communication Needed
The delivery men were very helpful, polite and were great overall. However the communication of when the actual delivery was going to take place once our container had arrived was zero. I had to reguarly call you to find out when the delivery was going to be, and was very difficult to get an answer. I never received one phone call with regards to a delivery date. It was only because I called and emailed you on a regular basis that I eventually got a date. I would of appreciated better communication with regards to a delivery date.
Took Longer Than Expected
The guys were nice enough but we felt they messed around and took longer than it should have done, was disappointed with that as went with three guys to make job quicker. They seemed to take their time talking a lot, normally I have no issues with Conroys but this time my sister and I felt very disappointed with the service, and they were late to boot.
"respectful of our goods and our home"
Conroys were efficient and pleasant. Some small communication details could help eg where did they put the bolts for the bed, the keys for the cupboard etc. The person in charge was too chatty for my liking as I had plenty of work to do too. The packers and movers were polite and helpful and respectful of our goods and our home.

The only problem we really had was communication could have been better’as the move was quite stressful.The staff we dealt with however,particularly the movers were really helpful and resolved any problems quickly.Regars Jenny

Thank you or your service. They were here when indicated and moved boxes to where I asked them to be.
"Several items were damaged"
We were disappointed with the handling of our goods at the destination end. Several items were damaged in unloading and although the workers were very friendly they seemed to lack suitable skills and/or training. A chest of drawers was tipped on it's head and had a chipped top. A TV stand was bumped hard enough that the glass doors will no longer shut. Beds were not reassembled on arrival and this may have been beyond some elderly couples such as ourselves although we did manage it. None of the damage would be covered by the $250 excess insurance . All cartons, (packed by ourselves) were undamaged but although marked "Kitchen", "Bedroom 1", "Garage" etc it took us several days to sort out where things were. I do not like making negative feedback and I am sorry to do so, as everybody has a bad day at times.
No Unpack and Assembly
Firstly we would like to commend Monica from Conroys - Monica was an exceptional point of contact - she updated us, advised us and followed up all of our concerns, which, when moving from another hemisphere was extremely appreciated, nothing was a problem and she liaised with the Allied Pickford counterparts in Auckland on our behalf - this made our transition to Napier from the UK so much easier. We were however diasppointed when our effects arrived as we paid for unpacking and reassembly of our furniture at location - we got the impression this was a tad difficult and the staff actually did nt want to saty longer than they had to - our furniture ( in our opinion) was not being off loaded with due care and we worried about damage being sustained - so we ended up doing the majority of what we paid for ourselves.
I would like to mention the delivery time was askew. When pick up date is 30th January and delivery was made 13th February. I see there is a process but that process could definately be adjusted in order to provide a faster more accurate delivery time frame. I am fortunate my mother was available to be at the house when the delivery arrived as I was not. This had all come down to the suggested time frame. Kolby is very polite and modestly competent in his position. Unfortunately for the delivery, commitments prevented me from being present to provide feed back. Suprises me there is only one man on the job.
