Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersThe last time I used Conroy's I had excellent service, however I was kind of dissapointed by a number of aspects of the service this time. On the packing and removal side of things, the team dissappeared for several hours (close to 4 hours) with no indication of when they were going to be back, leaving me stuck at the house waiting for them. The delivery team were great but dispatch (and I presume sales) were pretty uncooperative and uncommunitcative about delivery times which made things difficult for me with work...I'm incredibly lucky I have an understanding boss is all I can say. Also a couple of things were broken during the move.
The removal went well and the team were friendly but I don’t think the communication was as good as it could have been. I was given a delivery day and forwarded it to my ex husband so that he was aware and available. Not having heard anything he followed up with Conroy and found that on the date of delivery the shipment was still in Nelson. It didn’t cause a problem but better communication would have been more helpful.
Great communication however one of the furniture coffee table was delivered completely broken and was not reported personally.
I am most disappointed that items have gone missing from my removal goods. Neither Conroys or their UK agent RelocUK will admit any responsibility for the fact that a brand new nail gun, a box of shoes and boots, and a box of office goods which contained my dead sons private number plates have gone missing. All I get from both sides is “it’s not our fault check with the other side”.
New Plymouth collection. Transport was for a cast iron bath. Truck that turned up did not have a platform tray and trades had to very akwardedly manual handle by tripping onto side and trolley it up a single ramp. They nearly lost it over the side but just managed to steady it.
Auckland end. Organised a Saturday morning delivery and got up really early to ensure areas were clear and tidy for ease of movers access. After a no show @ 10.30am and no comms i called to be told bath was too heavy for the truck that day and other item did not get loaded either.
Reorganized for a Monday morning, had to take time off work. Delivery was made and as a show of goid will movers relocated three pieces of furniture for me for free. Which was nice of them !
Price for move Auckland to Hawera was great.
Moving men were lovely, very chatty and friendly.
Nothing was broken or dropped, and the moving in the next day went smoothly too.
However, the comment I need to make is that the time for the first collection was not clear. I was given two times of arrival and in the end the movers came about 1/2 an hour prior to the third collection time. This could really make a difference to anyone who is moving out on settlement date and has a specific time to be out of a house.

It cost me $370 to ship 2 standard sized doors from Auckland to Otaki. I was told that was because doors and windows have a special rate. The doors were less than 20kg each, were not bulky (flat and shallow), and made only of wood. Where was the need for a special rate? That price felt totally excessive.
I have used this service a few times and was very happy up until my recent move I have had a few damaged items that I still have no apology for or a attempt to fix or replace very annoyed
Hello, I used Conroy back in Aug 2018 ans had a fantastic experience with them. Always helpful on the phone and the team that came and moved my Fathers belongings fro Tokomaru to Wellington were wonderful.
The man who came to move the items from Wellington to Auckland wasn't of the same friendly nature and was quite rude and brisk, even walking away from me as I was asking him if everything was ok. My Mother (who is 79) and myself a 44 year old woman actively helped move boxes and furniture out to the truck. He did soften right at the end thankfully. But I did see him do a small 'lob' of a box that I had put 'fragile' stickers on and explained those items in the contianer had only ever been 'hand carried'.
So unfortunatley this last experience wasn't quite as good as the first one.
Thank you.
The team in Perth (Vela Ram) etc. Were excellent.
I wish I could say the same about the Tauranga team, but I've been disappointed so far. Communication has been virtually non-existant, still not sure what is happening with the car we brought over which I had to find out via a third party was still in quarantine. Wasn't able to arrange a time for our household goods to be delivered until we resorted to calling everyday until we got an answer. When you arrive in a country, it is important to know when you might expect to be able to move into your house and have a car to get to work!
We also had a few items broken and go missing, which we are in the process of claiming.
In summary, 5 stars on the Perth side, and a solid 1 star for the Tauranga branch.
