The Auckland team is quick to respond with good follow up regarding the move. Deborah was extremely helpful throughout the initial process, Taupea has great follow up and was extremely helpful throughout the move and the claims process. The only item which I found disappointing was I didn't have all of the details regarding the insurance, specifically the details on the excess, but I did have the T&Cs which didn't state any information on the excess. Unfortunately, the information was finally provided to me after I made a claim and found out there was a surprise charge. Had I been aware ahead of time there would have been far less back and forth with Karen. However, Karen was excellent throughout the claims process and her work is thorough and quick.
The team on the ground in Auckland were fabulous. They worked very hard to get things uplifted and were friendly making them easy to work with. These guys were rock stars and you're lucky to have them on your team. I'm very sad to have to provide the overall experience rating of "3" because I believe the Auckland team deserves a "5 - Excellent" rating.
The team is Blenheim was on the opposite spectrum; it's surprising this is the same company. First things first, I couldn't find my decorative floor vase during my search; I eventually uncovered it hidden in the roses cracked at the opening and neck with a large hole gouged out of the side -- it is completely ruined.
We took care to clearly label boxes with information regarding which room each box belonged but the team unloaded multiple boxes in incorrect locations. For example, we found several kitchen and living room boxes in the garage, garage boxes in the study, and upstairs bedrooms, etc. Having just recovered from heart surgery this put a lot of pressure on my husband since I'm unable to lift heavy items for several weeks.
In addition to this, I was also surprised when one of the men told me to get him a cuppa. To be clear, I didn't offer beverages and don't feel it was my duty considering I was still recovering from heart surgery from the prior week and with all of our stuff was in boxes this would require strenous activity which I'm not cleared to do yet. He made a passive aggressive comment later on in the day reminding me I didn't get him a cup of tea which confirmed for me he wasn't joking.
One last thing, I've toiled about whether or not to disclose the last issue. I request confidentiality in my disclosure in order ensure our safety. In the early morning when the team first arrived, one of the older white men asked why we relocated from Auckland. I shared I was tired of living in a home which was packed tightly among other homes without any privacy. What followed shocked both of us, the man proceeded to make several very racist and inappropriate comments about Indians. I walked away from the conversation because I didn't want to hear this hateful, ignorant nonsense and felt unsafe in hearing these comments. My husband stated the man went as far as to say "I hate f&%$ing Indians". Given there was a Sikh on the team I can only imagine what this unfortunate young man has to endure while trying to earn a respectable living.
While the Auckland team has been helpful and thorough with excellent follow through, the experience with the Blenheim team would prevent us from using your services again. I have no patience for racism or sexism and hearing these ignorant and hateful comments on our first day in our new home blindsided us. If you have questions about these comments, please contact my husband who will give you further details.
We might use your services again and there wasn’t facility for that on your survey. We might recommend you to others - but we would do that with cautionary advice - and there is no option for that in your survey. Overall, our delivery was not great.
Ours was not an easy delivery. Heavy kitchen units had to be carried up 2 small flights of stairs, and this was an obvious struggle. To give staff credit, they did not complain.
On the day of our delivery there was a storm and our kitchen was delivered in that weather. I was really concerned about potential damage to the kitchen (an expensive German kitchen), and asked the Senior driver if we should stop delivery and he said no. No drop cloth was put down for muddy boots on our new carpet. No detailed consignment note detailed the number of boxes we should be expecting. One cabinet had the back coming away and the driver didn’t give a stuff, telling me it was an easy fix. Water on Open ends of boxes appeared to be leaving marks. When the kitchen boxes are opened on June 17th, and if there is permanent damage or bits missing, please have your insurance ready.
I have used Conroys Removal previously 8 years ago when I moved within Tauranga and they were fantastic! This move was from Tauranga to Te Puke and to give the positives, the guy who was in charge was fantastic to deal with and followed my instructions which was great. But Sadly I have to share some negative feedback also based on the following:
1. booked time was meant to be in the morning, then called the day before the move and told that they would be at my house by 12 noon. They arrived at 1:30. We moved a few extra car loads just to try to get out in time.
2. There were 2 items which were broken - the handle on the chilly bin which I borrowed from my family. and a lamp which I didn't box up so they could see what it was - looks like it was dropped, it will be too expensive to fix so I might as well throw it out.
Orginally told that moving from Tauranga to Rotorua could not be done in one day!
Remover men really great & helpful.
Overall, all of our belongings were delivered and only had a few cups/bowls broken. Everything was delivered into our place but the moving team was eager to move onto their next delivery which was fine by us as they unwrapped the large things and we wanted to unpack the smaller boxes in their correct rooms. The only problem was that it took close to 4 weeks for the team to come back to remove all the debris. This included one day when they were suppose to come and never did as well as several other follow up emails to eventually get the debris removed.
The filling out of forms was an issue, repeating what is already on file in the quote , this could be much easier . The packers and uplift was a stressful time , I left original boxing for many items which they ignored, I had told them to use these , the items are now in storage with no boxes ro protect them , these are items such as weed eater ,karcher, this ignorance of using original packaging left us with having to then make a trip to tip to dispose of packaging , my husband had to take time off work to do this The time it took to uplift was excessive, previous removal companies were much more efficient , the men clearly work to stretch the time out as much as possible. We have moved extensively around the world and I have a cast knowledge of how long it should take to complete the task of packing and moving. I would suggest the quote of a service is far higher than it should be due the inflated time the packers create
Very slow response in receiving the quote after my initial enquiry although it was the two short working weeks over Easter.
The GST invoice was to the uplift point and not the delivery point even though I had made all the enquiries and paid on invoice. A request for correct invoicing has not been answered by Stacey.
The delivery itself was very professional with polite and willing lads.
Took a long time for this to happen and delivery only happened when I call to see where it was
After trying to reschedule the delivery day, no one contacted us to confirm, then 3 guys turned up on our doorstep when we didn't know they were coming. It was lucky we were even home! Some of our furniture was damaged with careless moving. The moving team were friendly though, and did a reasonable job.
