Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersAfter 40 years of using Conroy's your performance relating to the Auckland branch could only be described as shocking! The service we got from Robin Read in Hamiiton was 10 out of 10.
The communication prior to the move was great.
When the pick up was made from our house, everything was left in the two bathrooms and seperate toilet. There were 3 drawers in the kitchen and one drawer in the garage not emptied and packed. In fact one of the drawers had the left over rubbish from your staff still in there. The microwave was also left behind. I had to bring all the missed stuff over myself.
At the delivery end it was generally fine. Your staff were told some stuff was going into the house and the rest into the garage. They informed me that all the stuff going into the house was done and so they put the rest into the garage. it was only when we were looking for things like the vaccuum cleaner, our surround sound system, TV remotes etc that we found they had put these into the garage.
Of the greatest concern however was that your staff member in charge at the delivery informed me that the glass dining room table top had been damaged badly whilst moving it from the container it was originally packed in to the delivery truck.He asked if his boss had contacted me to inform me of the damage. To date I have heard nothing official from Conroys about the damage. Not really good enough.

Packing guy in Wgtn was great. What a star. Bit disappointed desk got a big crack in it. Dryer was also dented.
Found it very difficult to plan my move around work- little notice for pick up time (and then came 3 hours after given time) and only given due to multiple phone calls. Same issue with drop off- could tell me day in advance, did not get in contact with approximate time - even though I called multiple times stressing I was over an hour from the drop off location etc. I called on the day of delivery and drop off time was 2 hours after given time.
Otherwise friendly staff, reasonable price etc.
lawn mower was labbeled as such but was packed upside down so oil drained through engine to filtres and swamped carburetor,requiering a ful service to remove contamination,ther was also minor contamination to other packages ,also ramp to unload quad bike and trailor were not up to standard dodgy

The process started well was happy with what was agreed. I ordered some packing boxes for different things which were delivered but not what was ordered. Then on move day moving truck arrived without prearranged packing. Movers started loading the truck while I was out getting more packing supplies, to compleat what had to be properly packed as pre arranged, at my cost as supplier didnt have an account with Conroy’s. loading finished and the truck left. Delivery day the next day truck arrived and unloading started was fast with little comunication as to where we would like furniture placed movers were nice and very present but just wanted finished as fast as thay could. Unloading finished and Im asked to sign a form didnt have time to have a good look at any of the furniture. Over the next 2 days I have Found damage to furniture which could have been avoided with a little care and the use of more furniture blankets, which I was told would be part of the move even though I did the packing my self. I have photos if you would like to see. I didnt take out the insurance as I packed myself and would not be covered for much. I have moved many times with a few moving company’s . Both doing the packing myself and having it packed by the moving company both in New Zealand and Overseas so am quite awear of how a move should be overal with a bit more care and comunication this could have been a good move.
The truck turned up with no boxes for pacxking, then run out of boxes and had to get more sent. I was told my clothes would be put in boxes with rails to hang them on, none arrived and my clothes were stuffed in boxes. On delivery, the truck turned up at 4.30 and for the first hour only one man to unload, two others turned up for the last half hour.
Unfortunately a lot of damages.
there did not appear to be much common sense when wrapping fragiles. Two bowls which were clearly fragile (one from Morocco’s and one from Turkey) were barely wrapped and put in on side and to side of box. There heavy items on top and fractured in many pieces.
out of our five sets of drawers, four are damaged. Again did not take the drawers out and because heavy they were banged on the ground.. all corners broken.
an expensive kenwood kitchen aid was laid on its side and all oil has leaked out of the machine. Now needs a service
Upon unpacking/delivery day team said they would be there between 8-9am. Turned up at 10.40am therefore did not have time to put furniture together and we were left to do our selves. Said they’d come back at 8am following morning. Expecting to take the morning off work, one person turned up after midday to finish putting furniture together.
When “unpacking” wrapping took all wrapping of photo frames and artworks this leaving them most likely to get damaged as all other boxes were left unwrapped. Logic thought you’d protect the artwork until the end.

Although 90% of our stuff was fine and well packed and the staff were very nice and polite; I was heartbroken and gobsmacked to discover multiple items of high value that were just thrown into boxes without wrapping or protecting. Wooden spoons and jar lids were carefully double wrapped and taped up;but expensive leather shoes and boots, European handbags , multiple unique art prints were crushed and amber jewellery were just thrown into boxes or bulk wrapped or not wrapped at all. Resulting obviously in needless damage by professional packers. So disappointing and so very heartbreaking. Everything was so sentimental and precious to me and why we paid so much to have it professionally packed and moved.
The pick experience from our home was exceptional. The two men were pleasant and well organised.
my dealings through the time of storage have been pleasant as well.
The two young men who delivered the furniture did an ok job. The first thing out of the tuck was my very broken rimu dining table. They wanted me to know they hadn't done it. However when it left my home it was in perfect condition as I always kept a specially cut piece of glass over it. I can see marks on it where something heavy has been sitting on it. It has cracked, right across and the whole end has broken right off. In over 50 years of married life this was my first really nice table, so I'm sad and disappointed, because I had generally had a good experience with Conroys. It is irreparable as the wood is shredded. I will send a photo. My computer desk has a broken wheel. It is one of those where the wheel goes into the laminated board, and the board has been crushed. Also can't be repaired and is currently in use on a prop. I have paid plenty of money for keeping our possessions in storage which have generally been well cared for with one major exception, and a lesser one.
The people I dealt with in Perth/Brisbane to organise and uplift my goods were great.
However the people in Auckland had very poor communication. Goods just turned up at our house with no notification or warning. At no stage did Auckland communicate with us.
