Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersThe service from admin side has been Excellant , we were kept upto date with every step We moved with Conroy to Australia and were very satisfied , the move back has not been as professional with the packing . We have so many broken or damaged items , The way they were wrapped was ridiculous . ( Example a light bulb loose inside a glass vase ) This move, the lack of care has left bedroom suite damaged , leather lounge damaged , ornaments broken , pot handle, china tea cups . I would've accepted some incidents to occur , I believe most of this damage could've been prevented .
Crew that collected and packed (Steve and Grace) were brilliant.
The crew that uplifted the initial load were brilliant.
THe two morons that collected the other items the following day were aweful. Having been told that 1 item, a glass topped table was fragile and had a GLASS top, immediatly broke it when loading it into the truck. Consequently table ruined, glass all over the driveway that was not picked up. Another item collected on the second uplift was a microwave cooker. I told the guys that it needed packing around it and the glass plate inside needed safety packing to ensure it didn't get broken. I'm afraid my advice fell on deaf ears because it was not packed with any protection.
When the second vehicle turned up to offload, the microwave was just literally thrown in the back of the truck on its back and damaged beyond repair. The glass plate inside the microwave was also shattered.
I am out of poket for 1 microwave cooker that i will need to replace and a glass topped coffee table that is now useless. Value of items damaged apx 500 dollars.
No problems with your crews apart from the two village idiots that collected the overspill with the small truck.
When the crew delivered the initial load they were not informed that there was a piano on board. Poor communication!!! My 6 foot 2 son assisted with this offload.
Took no notice of my request to have resources onsite by 8:00am. Was advised the day before that they would arrive at 9:00am. Reason I had requested 8:00am was that painters were due at 8:30 and the house needed to be clear of furniture. The 2 guys eventually arrived at 9:45am.
Billed me for 2 hours when the job took only 1 hour. Conroy eventually credited me the extra 1 hour after I asked the reason why 2 hours.
The 2 guys who arrived were fine. The job was completed with no issues. A further booking for 30/07 has turned into another fiasco. Tilme will tell whether it's a disaster or can be recovered by your team.
I have used your company a few times now and this recent move was the first time I was dissatisfied. The guys didn't introduce themselves, one in particular was careless and unmotivated. I had numerous things damaged or just broken (again this has never happened before). I watched boxes labeled fragile do not stack be stacked. I watched boxes fall off the trolley then hear broken glass, my sons chest of draws were massively damaged not scratched actual chunks taken out. They also left items at the removal property. All other aspects of the business is good but these particular guys were not good and let the company down in my opinion.
I was pleased with Conroy on the New Zealand side of things, helpful and easy to deal with however at the delivery end your partner company was very poor, they were unprofessional, rough with my things and caused damage to three items and I would not use them again.
Would be nicer if Conroy solves all problems which broke the house's belongings without the residents effort and time.
Overall it was a reasonably good experience...... the objective was met! The movers were friendly enough but it took quite a while for them to get the truck loaded. On arrival at our new location things went smoothly until the very end....... one guy was not careful enough with our tall glass display cabinet! it was already off the truck and had obviously not been wrapped in a blanket. He attempted the move into the house on his own, and while trying to get it on a trolley one glass door flung open and smashed causing some damage to the woodwork as well! In our opinion, this was unprofessional to attempt to move an unprotected tall glass cabinet single-handedly! Two people should have moved this into the house and it should have stayed blanket-wrapped until in its position. Such a shame after a long day when tiredness kicks in! Since we did not have full transit insurance (too expensive) we would appreciate a contribution towards the repairs that recognises Conroy's responsibility for this error in judgement! This obviously impacts on our feedback, recommendations and the way we talk about our experience with other people.
Another area for comment is regarding communiction - I called a week before the move as we hadn't had any follow up after a month. It was confirmed the date of the move was as discussed and we would receive email or text message to confirm the arrival time. We received two texts - one for 9am and another for 11am! The truck arrived at 7.15am ready to load up!!
Would like to give this 3.5 stars but that wasn't an option. We really appreciate the communication, promptness and price of Conroy Removals, all employees have been great to work with. We did, however, find a few things broken or missing that were not due to our own packing, as well as being given something that wasn't ours, which could easily have been prevented with a little bit more care. The missing item was retrieved with some investigation and this was much appreciated. broken items:- mirror smashed- back of cupboard damaged- underside of dresser damaged by the truck dolly- coffee table sides had to be reglued- bedhead leg came off- lamp fixture damaged
Your communication is good, unfortunately our delivery was held up by Cook Strait sea conditions, which was out of your control, this did cost us over $500 in extra airbnb accommodation.
The Auckland team knew their stuff and had systems in place. When it came to Dunedin delivery,
Glenn was working with two nice young kids, one of whom lost a trolley load off the ramp at the back of the truck.
I was happy with the pricing and your removal and delivery staff. They are friendly. However it was annoying that a few of my stuff were damaged and I only found out when I unpacked. One of the armchair legs is loose and cannot be screwed back properly. The plates flap on my bbq was damaged. The bicycle handles were not returned to its original condition. Some plant branches were broken and garden ornaments broken. Though they were insured, how do you claim for each stuff as there is a $250 access on any individual items and another $250 access if not professionally packed. So it's very difficult to make any claims as the claims threshold is too high. On hindsight I shouldn't have insured as the money saved on insurance would have been enough to compensate for these damages.
Pick up truck arrived two hours early. There was no communication or ETA about this. The packing list was diifferent to what I had requested ( 3 x 3 seat sofa) instead 3 x sofa?? . Website said " wrapping of tables etc but this was not done instead just loaded onto truck with a few blankets. They seemed short of ropes. I had to give them my own straps to tie the furniture down.. I never got the straps back. Only two guys came to do pick up and in my mind this was not enough. Offce team were great to deal with however I feel operations need to improve.
Removal guys were really good, unfortunately the truck couldn't get up the driveway so had to rely on a truck being brought in which took a long time so they took most of contents down to the garage to wait.Didn't help that it was terrible weather and the carpet was muddied when they came in, wasn't their fault but didn't help. The weather can't be controlled.
