The move went well but the customer service was pretty rubbish. Was great until I paid the invoice, then communication went dead and I couldn't get hold of you for a pick up date. You then turned up to collect the goods without any warning and no one was home so they had to leave work to meet you at home (a rural address!). The delivery from pick up was quick and the goods were in good condition. However forndelivery again I had very little warning, just a phone call saying they'll be delivered in approx 20 mins and it was just luck that I was home.
Had great service so far espeacially during covid, i havent received my shipment yet but im always kept up to date.
Ive used service before with no problems. or delays but this time there was a long delay. Shipment arrived in country on 26th September I finally received on 10th November. I understand covid 19 issues but there were long waaits between communication which made me feel forgotten. However when I asked ithe replies were prompt and Susan was helpful.
The packing service was excellent and the removers were quick and friendly but on un packing and examining items later, we have found small dents and scratches on severl items, including coffee tables, a new outside concrete bench seat has now several scrapes and is now down to the bare concrete, a chip of wood wissing from our dressing table. We were disapointed with Conroys on this occasion as they down loaded a container for us last year and all was excellent! I would just add that the team leader from our observations was always gentle and careful with the items that he moved!
the driver was pleasant but you only sent him to move heavy furniture. As a consequence we had to arrange another carrier to supply a man to help. The driver had originally asked us to be the second helper but we are elderly.
you were asked to inform us which day you were coming to our house, but we had to call you several times to find out when
the delivery to nelson itself was swift and uneventful
- Delivery men - passenger did not bother getting out of truck to guide driver to reverse down my driveway. I guided driver as I was concerned about truck hitting my fence.
- Delivery men took little care moving some of my possessions from the truck to my house.
- My oil heater was damaged. This was known damage as it had packing tape wrapped around it to keep it from falling apart. I sent the heater back on the truck. No idea what happened to it. Have not received communication about it from Conroys. I will be seeking a replacement heater from Conroys.
- There was an item missing. A metal farm implement. I had to chase up delivery of this item.
- When it was delvered after a couple of days later the driver of the truck reversed in to my fence. I had to yell at him to stop before he did too much damage to the fence.
The men who did the final pack up were rough in dealing with our belongings. My wife was not happy about how they handled our things. However, The two ladies who did the packaging on the day before were excellent.
We arranged to have some furniture picked up on a particular date and when I contacted them to see what time they would arrive I was told that they would try to get there that day. The woman in the office, Sarah, did try her best but basically operations did not have us booked in. They picked up the furniture the following day which meant we needed to stay an extra day in Christchurch in order to open the house. A week later we were contacted by a truck driver who asked about access to our property. We live rurally and have a gravel drive which is wide enough for big trucks (we built the property and had trusses, bricks, framing etc delivered without issue). The driver then said he had an 18 wheel articulated truck! Of course that was not going to work. The driver was also expecting assistance to offload the furniture as he was on his own. This guy was also pleasant and did what he could to get delivery organised but in the end our furniture went back to Chch after visiting Invercargill and Queenstown. The furniture was finally delivered and both the driver and his offsider were also good to deal with. I am not unhappy with the folks we had contact with, rather the overall operational approach which could do with some improvement.
The removal team was very slow, took a lunch and an extended bathroom break after arriving later than scheduled. They started the day by complaining from working till 9pm the previous day. I think they were fatigued and that's why their pace was no as it should have been.
I have used Conroy's in the past and was expecting better and faster service.
When I origionally spoke with Debbie she was very helpful and accommodating with our situation. We were advised there was a shipment due to leave with space availability othewise a week or so after would be another spot. With this I rearranged our flights and bought them forward, left my job earlier and packed ur home. Everything was scheduled and the guys that arrived to pack and uplift everything were awesome, nothing was an issue and they had everything packed and loaded. We had a date booked for a few days after uplift. Communiction then ceased, i constantly had to chase up for answers to see if our container had left as scheduled. a few weeks later I was then advised that our container hadnt left as scheduled due to the other half of the container not receiving their permits which meant our items were held back. No one mentioned this or anything to me until a couple of weeks after it was meant to go!! The next scheduled dte cme and it didnt get put on that either. By this time I was in Austrailia at a house with no items. When it finally left it was scheduled to arrive 26 October, this was oushed back to 3rd Nov, then confirmed for 7th Nov. When I followed up on 11th Nov i was advised it had just arrived that day. I am still yet to receive our container nearly 3 months after leaving!! With the origional dates it was booked on it was due to arrive shortly after we finished quarantine, as this hasnt happened I hahve had to go and ourchase house hold items so my chidren had something to sleep on, clothing to wear, kitchen essentials and basic day to day living items which has financially set me back ALOT!! Jaymee in Australia end has been amazing with keeping me udated where she can and trying to push through as priority due to this situation. I have also in this process been called advising they forgot to tell me about fees that were needed before packing certain items which they knew about prior to uplift and packing - Debbie was very understanding with this and helped alot! Another financial hit! I am still yet to receive my container but hopefully within the next week. I was disappointed with the NZ side (on both moves) Debbie Beech was super helpful along with Jaymee from Queensland. We moved to NZ using Conroys in Jan 2020 and then back to Perth in Sept 2020.
