Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersThe actual over all move was great and stress free.Dealing with the actual company, in regards to getting the boxes delivered wasn't so pleasant. I understand the moving world is busy right now but communicate with me aka the person who trusted you guys and paid a lot of money, what is happening. A simply email explaing to me first, before I had to play chase up, would have been nicer .And not being told, they won't take empty gas bottles or empty fuel canastors etc, I do understand why not but i would have prefered to have been told prior to the move and i would have had them put aside
Goods not collected going north, bad communication internally and too myself as we had to get the pieces off the property, goods collected late Fruday, and not delivered on the Monday as given at quote time and was what I was told to expect. I had to ring and re ring, (even after being told you would ring me, but this didn't happen) to find that goods could only be delivered after emptying the truck, so now it’s Wednesday and my helper couldn’t be available to help me anymore. They finally arrived an hour late Wednesday morning, after explaining they had to deliver early and they couldn’t do it any later !!! So huge bad communication, then the truck driver wasn’t Mr Personality, even though I was very organised and we were very efficient to get all unloaded and placed, it didn’t help that I had a fractured elbow in a sling so I couldn’t do anything myself. So if it had been better communication, my person could have been here to help and they had put two days aside and I was on my third day. But I do feel I had paid for the service I got re delivering and dropping where I wanted the pieces in the properties. So better communication re delivery in future would help. I do a lot of moving of furniture. So if I used your company again I’m aware about some questions I would need to use. Luckily I could be available for Wednesday.
After I paid the invoice (on a Friday) I was advised that the shipper would be called on the following Monday to arrange a pickup day. No-one had called by Friday (4 days later) and I followed up with Conroy's, who promised to call them the same day. No-one called on the Friday and I needed to follow up with Conroys again on the following Monday to request the shipper to be contacted.
We haven't received the shipment yet.
Positive - Excellent service from Napier branch. All staff were professional and movers were careful and nothing was too much trouble.
Negative - No inventory from Auckland branch for our two containers. A couple of items damaged due to not being packed properly. Packing and separation of indoor and outdoor could be improved.
My move is not yet complete - we are at the midway mark with delivery expected early this week. Both gentlemen were lovely and efficient but seems to lack any knowledge of what was agreed.
This is my initial feedback
- none of my timber furniture was wrapped in blankets as agreed
- my couch wasn't wrapped until it was on the back of the truck
- an antique mirror was broken and neither of the gentlemen fessed up which was disappointing. I had to put it in the rubbish bin and simply move on with the move
- my expensive road bike wasn't boxed as agreed. It was wrapped in platstic and taped which is not the protection this bike should have warranted
- I believe some of the kitchen boxes may have been stacked on their sides - this could end quite badly however I have my fingers crossed
to say I am nervous about the condition of my goods on delivery would be an understatement. I will need to trust that nothing gets damaged and it all arrives undamaged.

Timing of delivery took way too long. No communication about when it is arriving or where it is at. Waited three weeks to get something sent to Dunedin. Quoter was great (Jemima?) and quick to get that part sorted. Shame about the amount of time it took to get down south.
Good we're delivered safe with no damage. However, communication of when items were going to picked up and delivered were very poor.
Hi guys, thanks for accommodating our late changes. The service on the day was very good. I was a little bit disappointed a service we had booked for a move on one day (booked months ago) was initially planned to be picked up at 2pm in the afternoon and dropped off the next day. Most people would arrange to have the day off work and expect their delivery to be on the same day. I'm 100% sure I booked it for the Thursday. In future if you could include the expected pick up and drop off times in the booking process and quote it would have made the communication more seamless. Had I not been proactive contacting Conroys, we would have been frustrated finding out on the day our stuff was only going to be delivered the next day. Thanks to Cameron and Dave for the efficient and professional service on the day. Thanks to Kirsty and Doug for staying in contact and for arranging those late changes.
Hi there,
Fantastic service though I really struggled the day before delivery as i had not received a phone call to advise what time I could expect the truck, I just needed to know whether it was Am or PM. I spoke with a guy by the name of Ben who I felt was utterly rude on the line and I felt like I was being an inconvinence by contacting the team.
Im not one to usually complain but when Im spending my money with you I think some kindness could go along way as I did my best to avoid having further conversation with him on the Friday.
Apart from that the guys in the truck were amazing and incredibly helpful, both ladies I dealt with (unfortunately Im unsure of their names) were both fastastic and really helpful.
