The premove visit and packing from Napier was fine. the problem was once I arrived at CoopersBeach in the Far North, the arrival of my furniture was delayed on the day due to Neville's truck breaking down in Whangarei, when he arrived late in the day, could not get up the drive, everything had to be carried up, could not offload everything, had to come back the next day so my daughter had to sleep on a mattress and we had no fridge. My sofa was covered in grease, one lamp shade was torn beyond repair and the leg on one end table was broken. I paid a great deal of money for insurance and am most disappointed. I phone to talk to someone at Conroy's Napier but did not get aresponse back.
We chose Conroy based on reputation of others that had used Conroys. Incidentally they we people who had moved city to city, ours was a local move. The team were punctual and courteous however they were somewhat rough with our belongings resulting in damage to our furniture and to our new property including breaking part of a roof overhang and causing scrapes along walls. Despite requesting 3 movers and the biggest truck, a smaller truck arrived that could not take accommodate our move, necessitating the supply (and additional cost) of another truck and more movers. We were also told on their arrival that they would not transport pot plants, garden gear - even cleaned tools and barrow, meaning we had to borrow a friend's trailer last minute, load and store. All of this resulted in a very stressful move that we have not experienced in the past by using other major removal companies both internationally and city to city, that were able to move us in one smooth transaction with no breakages or damage. My feedback to Conroys is to visit & inspect larger homes prior to approving a booking to make sure you have the right resources.
Very streamlined service, but was let down with lack of information about customs Covid restrictions, placing me in a position of possibly having to pay import tax. If I known, I would have postponed my shipment. I did read the customs link provided and it it said I was able ro arrive after the goods were landed
From my initial enquiry, I felt a bit pressured into goods being picked up and didn't have enough time to think about things properly
They wanted to pick things up 2 days later !
Apart from that, if it hadn't been unprecedented times, it was excellent service and communication
The product left its depot on the 17th November and we received it on the 7th December.
When I rung (a couple of times) I got no answer to when it would be arriving
It was not a difficult move, movers were pleasent, but not keen on doing too much heavy work. you did our packing from last proerty, but found this shift, after many with you the most broken china and glassware.some precious.. You couldnt locate our table, then it was broken, and a fix had been tried. I realise you were in the middle of flood recovery, but I felt communication could have been much better. extra staff on might have been helpful to the dispatch people . we do use your services alot
Crystal water jug, crystal glassesx2, coffee mugs x2 all well wrapped, box labelled fragile, all smashed. Wheel of drying rack not there. I still haven't unpacked all the china and glassware, am scared to. Delivery team were quite rough unloading the truck so I guess I shouldn't be so surprised
It's super hard to review this because the Melbourne branch really screwed up with poor communication and not notifying us that their 5-7 quote would actually be 13 weeks.
NZ team were much better with communication, even if the info keep changing a lot - at least they kept us informed.
Delivery team on the day were fab! Very friendly and arrived on time.
We originally were told truck coming aroung 9.30 then day before told around 10.30. Truck didnt arrive til 1.45. I had no luck ringing Conroys - every option was an answerphone and when I did leave a message no-one rang back. Finally I text the cell number of Nathan and he rang me back to say truck running late. We were moving my 93 year old Father and still had a 3 hour drive home with him. This delay caused upset and stress for all which is not good enough. Then my husband ended up helping load the truck which took 4 hours as there were only 2 Conroy guys. The truck driver said he aimed to be at our place the next day by 0800 as wanted an early start. He would ring us when on his way. Again no phonecall and the truck turned up at midday! The 2 Conroy guys were polite and hardworking and careful with our furniture but honestly for a Nationwide Company the communication and timing of the truck was really disappointing. Moving is stressfull especially at 93!
Our delivery date was 2 days later than what we had been promised. This was a shame as up until that point we had been happy with the service from this company and had used this company previously. The phone admin lady however was very apologetic and she had wonderful customer service skills.
