Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersI would recommend and use Conroys again with reservations. The service by the removal guys was excellent at both ends, very quick, safe, accomodating and friendly. However, was disappointed by the large increase in fees after adding items. I was initially quoted for 10 cubic metres and the addition of a washing machine, 3 boxes, a table and two bags increased by a third. But then still only got a quarter of a 40 cubic metre truck for removal space. In other words I paid close to $600 more for the same truck space and felt like i was penalised for my honesty (had i not informed conroys of the additions, I would have got the same space and saved myself a lot of money)
Communication with head office was a little delayed.
I gave a 3 because I don't know of any other business that gets to be paid in full up front to handle all my stuff with no responsibility for loss or damage. I asked to keep 10% back but was told no. Other than that, the guys who picked down an delivered were great. And the timing was perfect. I just can't believe your industry gets to work like that
I have no choice to use you as you have my stuff in storage but I wouldn't again. Part of our delivery instructions were for the bed to be reassembled and the crew said no they can't (no tools - but the bed doesn't need tools just connecting the ends and slats) and when I pointed out it was on the cover note which they had they said "that's just head office nothing to do with us".
alao very long time to wait for email communication.
A number of items got broken and damaged. Does not look like lots of care was given to my things. For exmaple my brand new expensisive Hi-Fi speaker has dents and deep scratches. A box that was labled Glasses (Fragile) has got a big hole on it and more. I am currenlty making a list of damaged and broken items with photos and would like to hear back in terms of how you handle such occurances.
Hi,
While the guys were strong, careful, pleasant, helpful and nice to deal with- it was just extremely disappointing that they had no experience in how to disassemble my >100 year old Mason and Hamlin grand piano.
They were only able to figure out how the legs were to be removed once the piano was placed on its side with all 3 legs attached which was a dangerous maneuvre loading up one of the legs. They indicated they only had experience with more modern grand pianos where the legs unscrewed.
I would have expected for the price quoted to move a grand piano would include a pre move site visit where it was determined if the team assigned had the skills and knew what to do. This certainly happened when I have used other specialist piano movers in the past.
Without the piano issue, this moving team was A+., however it was the ability to move grand pianos that was the key to me choosing Conroys.in the first place.
I was disappointed that Steve's meticulous care to put my belongings in order on the truck leaving Blenheim, ie house to house; storage to storage, were in complete disarray when offloaded here in Raumati South. As a result, much of what I need is now in storage in Paraparaumu. What I have opened includes many breakages ie two antique lamps destroyed, crystal glasses smashed, plates broken etc. I felt my wording 'Fragile' on a number of boxes was not observed in the handling of the boxes. The stacking in the storage unit is excellent but too big a job to go through it all again, at least for now.
My goods were over a week late from the delivery date agreed, my steam mop is missing, and some of my furniture is damaged.
