Service was good but pick up was 2 hours later than originally said althought communication around this was good. Delivery was great but some of my furniture had small dents in it from the move.
We find the company great to deal with, the workers took too long to load the truck, it was the longest time for the same amount of stuff we have always had, We have moved a full houseload with conroys before and previously the worker were far more efficient and seemed to know more what they were doing. A couple of them look out of there depth, and it was disappointing from our point of view.
The staff were very nice guys and friendly, and one was excellent respectful helpful really a credit to conroys, Dometric? he was on pickup and delivery,
There was no communication on the day prior to our removal as to time truck would arrive. I found out by ringing your office. Pick up at our house was great. Truck was on time and staff were efficient and friendly. The delivery in Taupo was far from satisfactory. Truck arrived promptly at time indicated. However there was only the driver to unload the truck. Promised assistant did not arrive. This meant my husband needed to help him with the large heavy items which were unsafe for him to lift alone. This was definitely a health and safety issue. One of the reasons we contracted a moving company was so that my husband did not have to do this and we were charged for a service we did not receive. It is a shame these organisational issues let down what was otherwise an efficient move.
The depot were really helpful once my order was finally in (Sam was the person I dealt with). Apart from that my online quote wasn't responded to. I needed to follow-up. One of the uplift removers would not remove his shoes inside my house (OSH reasons) but was wearing soft slip ons that wouldn't have saved his toes if anything had dropped on them so I had to lay dust sheets everywhere. The delivery team had no tools to reassemble my bed even though that was specifically on the quote. I supplied what I could but when I went to make the bed two screws were barely tightened and our bed would almost certainly have collapsed when we climbed into it and the bed sides were attached the wrong way round even though there were clear markings on each corner. Thank goodness I had my daughter and son-in-law arrive. We had to disassemble the whole bed and reassemble it ourselves - not what you want to make your guests have to do and if the original date had been possible I would not have been able to fix it on my own.
I have used Conroys several times but my last two deliveries will make me search for a different company in future.
Full marks go to Sam at the depot for making my 3x flight cancellation to meet the delivery way less stressful. He should certainly be retained.
Movers only removed the furniture from the truck, they left it to me to load everything into my storage unit. Additionally, the movers did not remove any packing materials, which was a service I had paid for. Otherwise, communication leading up to delivery was clear and consistent.
Joanne was great to deal with by email initially and I found MaryAnne very helpful. However I had to call and chase my delivery on the day it was due and was told it wouldn't necessarily be delivered that day - even though I had confirmed the date with the operations team and taken time off work to be at the property. The person I spoke to in the Chch depot had a terrible attitude and was very unwilling to help me. I had to be really pushy to ensure my things arrived when you told me they would as I was unable to take anymore time off work. They guys who delivered my stuff were great, very friendly. But you have also misplaced the padlock that was on my storage unit and was given to your team to bring to me. I have tried contacting Joanne again to see where this is but have been ignored so I'm now out a $40 lock as well. While some parts of the process were good, my interaction with the Chch office wasn't, and I shouldn't have had to chase you at all - or to be so firm with him just to ensure my stuff arrived on the time you said it would. Communication poor. Phoned 3 times to try find out when stuff was being delivered. Each time was told someone would be in touch soon. No one ever was. Then was contacted by the guys delivering it when they arrived at my home and no one was here! We'd been told that time that someone would be in touch 30min before hand but no one contacted us so thought it safe to go out.
Also a solid wood dining table that belonged to my grandmother has been broken. No help at all in trying to organise an estimate of dining table cost and damage. I wonder what I actually paid for in the more than $1000 worth of insurance paid.
While being pleased with packing and loading in Taupo on December 10th. It was a different story the next day unloading and placing furniture.
We understand it being acceptable to have a new inexperienced employee to load our contents but it certainly wasn't acceptable to have two out of the three operator's being in their first week as removal operators.
Your response to our complaint re the cratch on our Rimu unit is abysmal as it is due to negligence by inexperience operators and responsibility should have been accepted by Conroy's rather than an insurance claim.
In addition we do not feel that when moving elderly people heavy boxes should be left in the driveway.
The truck was 20 minutes late on both days. On the first day, there was a further delay when the driver had to go get a different truck. I would have thought that when I had my quote, everything like the driveway and access etc, would have been taken into consideration.
Our delivery date was 2 days later than what we had been promised. This was a shame as up until that point we had been happy with the service from this company and had used this company previously. The phone admin lady however was very apologetic and she had wonderful customer service skills.

Poor communication from quote to removal people.
Our removal was not handled by Conroy but subcontracted out with out mentioning that to us.
We were told the removal team would arrive between 8.30am and 9am but arrived at between 9.30am and 10am.
We were told on the phone that the removal team would have sofa bags but they didn't have any and loaded the sofas on the base of the lorry
Unable to rebuild beds at the new property cos the removal team ran out of time.
Noticed 2 dinks on the fridge from the move.
The removal vehicle wasn't bigger enough for all out things.
I'm not happy that I got the email for this feedback form at 1am.
