Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersI was disappointed that Steve's meticulous care to put my belongings in order on the truck leaving Blenheim, ie house to house; storage to storage, were in complete disarray when offloaded here in Raumati South. As a result, much of what I need is now in storage in Paraparaumu. What I have opened includes many breakages ie two antique lamps destroyed, crystal glasses smashed, plates broken etc. I felt my wording 'Fragile' on a number of boxes was not observed in the handling of the boxes. The stacking in the storage unit is excellent but too big a job to go through it all again, at least for now.
The service in Australia was good, friendly and efficient. I did have to do the Web forms about 5 times though, but that wasn't a huge issue. My furniture arrived, and I got contacted about delivery quickly and the date was flexible, which was good. On the day the furniture was quite late and didn't arrive until 4:30 pm, with one guy in the truck. He said more were coming but only one other arrived after we had finished most of the unpacking. My bed was left dismantled, when I was putting it up one bolts had been shredded so I couldn't use it, and my fridge has a dent on each size. Everyone was friendly and pleasant to deal with though.. And mostly the process was made smooth, which is why I would reccoment cinoys to others
Have had some items broken but was not contacted at all about them. Even the drivers knew but didn't say.
Would have been much appreciative if I had an update from them.
We felt the communication was poor, the email we received confirming the job said that we would be advised the day before the time of the shift, depending on scheduling. We were not advised until the truck arrived at the storage facility. While the move was timely, a few units were damaged in the process due to dragging, pushing, etc. We had scratch marks on the new gondolas, a desk that nearly collapsed, and a few other issues with other furniture. We feel more blankets could have been used and more care taken. We have used your service in the past, recently and were happy with that service which is why we chose to use you again. At this stage I don't know if we would in the future, and on the basis of this last service I am not confident in recommending your services to others, hence the reason I have not marked the last two.
We used your services knowing that it was our responsibility to insure for damage, but quite frankly for the short distance involved, there should have been no damage whatsoever and the rough handling of our units gave us no confidence in your ability to provide the best service. For $220/hour, we would have expected more care to be taken.
Conroy removals did a great job packing up and storing my goods, and their communication was excellent during this stage. However, when I needed to get my goods delivered from storage, the communication was quite unclear and a couple of my goods were broken. Overall, my experience was good and the move was successful, but there were a couple problems.
The three Conroy men (James, Ben and Mason) that moved my possessions were great; friendly, hard working and fast. There were just a couple things that I would have liked to have seen done differently. The first was that the movers came earlier than I was told, by nearly 30 minutes, so I was not quite ready when they arrived. I am an organized person and find punctuality to be a good feature. The second issue was that a number of my possessions, including boxes and furntiure were moved and packed on their sides instead of upright. I had packed everything with the idea that they would be packed in an upright position. It does stress furniture and even to books to be packed in an unintended position. Lastly, I noticed that the 20 heavy duty straps that I used to pack the original shipping container were not included in the move or returned to me. That is disappointing. Otherwise I was happy to receive all my worldy possessions. Thank you.
I was told it would be an 8.30 start so my. Brother and I travelled from Papamoa but the boys didn't arrive til 9.00.
They were nice and friendly but very casual and slow working taking 2 or more breaks so the job stretched out to 11.45 and I had things I needed to do elsewhere. If I hadn't had time constraints myself this wouldn't have been a problem.
The container seemed well packed so no issues there.
With your underestimation of the amount of boxes we would need I have been left with alot of items I am having to store at my own house which is inconvenient as my house has just gone on the market.
There was space left in the container where we could have put the boxes you hadn't allowed for but then the storage costs would have been prohibitive compared to what other storage places were asking. I had assumed a general container charge not a volume charge.
My initial request via internet was a bit vague, I thought someone would get back to ask for more details nearer to the date. The two guys that turned up did a great job.
Your team in both Australia and NZ were supportive during a stressful time. All enquiries were managed with quick responses and great customer service.
Very nive people but sometimes a bit disorganised. For example the movers were late and didn't let us know. Also only one mover turned up so we had to carry half of the furniture ourselves.
The system of putting the furniture in a container is great and the guys doing the loading in Hawkes Bay were great. Everything was ontime. Unfortunately the guys from Auckland who deliveried it were poor. I specified a small truck to get access to the property. They turned up with a big truck so they had to hire a smaller truck to transfer the furniture too to get access to my property. In the process of multiple load and unload they trashed the furniture and boxes. Huge gashes and rips in the side of brand new cartons. I'm not talking wear and tear, I'm talking about a gash with part of the carton ripped open. I had the BBQ covered but I had to intercede to stop one guy from ripping it. I'm going to have to refinish some of wooden furniture. Nothing broken or beyond repair at this stage with still a few cartons to go but a dissappointing finish to a good system and good start.
Hi,
While the guys were strong, careful, pleasant, helpful and nice to deal with- it was just extremely disappointing that they had no experience in how to disassemble my >100 year old Mason and Hamlin grand piano.
They were only able to figure out how the legs were to be removed once the piano was placed on its side with all 3 legs attached which was a dangerous maneuvre loading up one of the legs. They indicated they only had experience with more modern grand pianos where the legs unscrewed.
I would have expected for the price quoted to move a grand piano would include a pre move site visit where it was determined if the team assigned had the skills and knew what to do. This certainly happened when I have used other specialist piano movers in the past.
Without the piano issue, this moving team was A+., however it was the ability to move grand pianos that was the key to me choosing Conroys.in the first place.
