I am disappointed with the condition of my wooden furniture when it was delivered, it had not been sufficiently protected and as a result there is significant damage! The glass in my dresser was broken, the front of my desk had been bruised and scratched, the book case has rub marks on it. The dresser has cracks in the frame as well! There are dirty marks and strap marks on my sofas. Also the glass in on picture was smashed.
We were very disappointed in the pre-arrival service and organisation as we had to constantly chase everything up, we were told people would contact us who never did and it took a month after quarantine was cleared to deliver. However, on the day the movers were very good - polite, helpful and efficient. We have no complaints about their work. I'm sure Conroy would be good for a domestic move with a specific date, but I wouldn't recommend for international moves and will be conveying this to our agent.
Communication was sometimes not very clear, and often confusing, which resulted in a lot of disappointment and unnecessary changing of plans.
A number of furniture items broken. Damage to fence and retaining wall when the truck left the property. Photos of damage sent in seperate email.
The stickers that are attached to each item are very difficult to remove. In some cases I was unable to completely remove the sticker adhesive (even when using hot soapy water) and it left a mark on the item. I recommend finding another way to label items or use stickers that can more easily be removed.
Other than this the service was good.
The staff were very pleasant and great. As someone who moves frequently for work, there are ares to improve.
You should do a 'spare parts' box for screws, remotes etc. And some things were not packed as carefully as they could have been.
We also had zero communication the day before as to what time to expect the Packers to arrive. We were up early expecting them at 8am (as previous moving companies we've used have done), but no one showed up until 9:30am.
Aside from this, our move went smoothly, and the team offloaded our belongings very quickly and efficiently. Many thanks.
Not happy about the rough handling if furniture items on the Whangarei pickup. The Whakatane/Tauranga team were brilliant however!
Unhappy too that after starting on the bedrooms and loading those items into the truck the senior member of the team then proceeded to sit in the truck and smoke. (We have allergies in the family and the matresses still smell like smoke).
Damage includes:
- Bunk bed frames - surfaces have been scratched/dented/marked. These were in brand new condition.
- Bike - chain not feeding through any more and will need repair
- Some dining chairs also marked (these too were in brand new condition)
Hi,
Overall our move was good in some parts but very average in others. Unfortunatley we had a number of items broken/smashed/damaged by your movers - some that are one off and expensive pieces, they lost some of our inventory (a whole bed base, leaving us sleeping on a mattress on the floor for 2 nights), damaged our walls when moving furniture back into our apartment and we were not advised correctly about the time the movers would arrive to return our items from storage. Some of the movers were very good, pleasant and some seemed to rush and take less care with our items.
Scott was my initial point of contact and he quoted over the phone and was amazing, later turned out to be an accurate quote. Then MaryAnne followed up with a phone call which made me feel confident that Conroy's were efficient and well organised. My next contact was with Sally, who is obviously new to the job but found answers to my queries and always got back to me, and at the very end managed to locate a desk foot that came off during the move. The next contact was with Tim and Tremain. Tim was very personable but clearly doesn't usually do moving or packing, perhaps just drives trucks. Tremain was very efficient, strong, capable and virtually packed the entire truck, I was very impressed with him at this stage. Next came Nick and CJ (?). They were both lovely and unloaded the truck carefully and quickly. However, at end of the day, there was quite a lot of damage to our furniture - both fridges were dented and one of the bedside cabinets was very damaged, plus various other new scratches and dents to other pieces.
Truck arrived late (confirmed 8.30am start but only arrived at 9.10am and then got off to a very slow start), short one person (requested 3, only 2 men until after lunch) and the truck was not large enough thus necessitating 2 trips. This was not ideal as the new owner of the property wanted vacant possession which is why I had wanted 3 men and an early start (with a truck large enough to remove all items in one trip). The afternoon arrival of more men and a hiace-combi did not resolve the problem in terms of the timing and vacating the premises on time. Very expensive for less than excellent service.
The part we are very disappointed in for repairs we now have to run around and get quotes
our large dinning table is going to takes months as only two companies do wooden tabked
