Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersI would recommend, however, I would highlight the improvement areas needed as below.
I was not updated as regularly as I would liked to have been. My container was delivered to Conroy on a Monday and I was only informed of a possible delivery time (after calling and emailing Conroy multiple times) on that Friday. As a customer, I would like to be notified immediately of my container being offloaded with Conroy and would not want to feel the need to follow up. We had been without our items for 6 months and would thus like to know the status of the container regularly once it reaches NZ shores.
When I asked for a delivery date, I was told to call the operations team. As a customer, I would expect Conroy to follow up for me as this is what I have paid for. I should not need to follow up within the Conroy team where this could and should be done internally.
Once the boxes were unloaded at our property, we had to ask the team to unpack our items from crates even though we had paid for installation/set-up of non-complex furniture items - they did not seem to have the time to properly uncrate and assemble items. However, the team unloading our items were helpful and friendly.
I had ordered a pack and pick up in wellington. When the team finally arrived it was 4.30 in the afternoon when I had requested a morning move.... they then complained that they hadn't been told that there was packing required amd they had to go and get all the materials and change trucks by the time they returned it was 6 pm. They then complained the whole time about the fact thaT they were not packers and they shouldn't have to do it. there was only one box that needed packing.... the rest were wardrobe boxes for hanging my clothes in. very disappointed with this service. at the auckland end the team there were excellent !
We were very pleased with the service provided. the reason for only rating a 3 star is due to one staff member.2 out of 3 workers were great, the third was most times only choosing the lighter items to move(except for one table).if i had not heped to unload we would not hav finished when we did.The same person then attempted to connect the washing machine and after spending a long time then said there is something wrong with the fittings, Fisher and Paykel dont have the correct hoses we will need to call someone to connect it. When he left i spent about 10 seconds attaching the hose correctly. i am only advising you so that you are aware of his non work ethic as opposed to the other 2 employees who were fantastic. i dont recall his name, but it was not Rick (the driver or the younger lad) it was the person who was in charge of the paper work.As i said previously we would certainly use Conroys again but belieave you need to be aware of the situation.

I ordered three men and a truck. The truck arrived 2 hours late with two men which caused me grief with the buyer and a threat of penalty. The truck was a bit small - the men had been told they were moving a contents of a storage shed, not a household. The men were excellent and helpful and it is because of them I would consider using you again - especially the lead guy.
The pack into the van on the Monday took nearly 5 hours, as they only had a ramp that was tin, and too slippery to use on a wet day. The truck was old and it should have had a ramp that lowered to the ground, according to the AUckland removal men. The other end, in Auckland was much more efficient according to my sister, however there was minor damage to 2 pieces of furniture.
We were told that the crew would arrive around 9 to start the uplift -- they did not arrive until after 10:30. Then we were told delivery should take place mid-morning the next day -- this did not happen until sunset, so all the unloading took place in the dark. Both jobs had only two staff as opposed to the three who did our initial (significantly smaller) delivery from Japan I myself helped unload the truck as it would have taken still more time otherwise. Would appreciate a refund of $50-$100 for the labour costs that would otherwise have been paid to a third person.
The "yes" answers to the two mandatory questions above are more precisely "yes, but with an explanation of the difficulties they may face".
A few glitches in communcation along the way. The price was reasonable but there were a couple of issues on the day & prior. When Daniel came to view the move & see what we had to take, the quadbike was mentioned. In the initial quote the quadbike wasn't on there. I sent a 2nd email asking if the quadbike was included & adding another washing machine to the load. The quote was revised & paid for on this email with me assuming the quadbike had been included. although there was still no mention of the quadbike. I assumed that the increased price included the washing machine & the bike. When the guys (who were very accomodating & professional) arrived to begin the move they knew nothing of the quadbike. They worked to remedy that which they did. I had to leave as they were nearly finished packing to go to the lawyers to sign documents associated with the move. When I got home they had left but there was a freezer of meat left behind. I had to call & get someone back to come back & retrieve the freezer which they did. That was good but it would have saved alot of stress if they could have called me to find out where the freezer was as they couldn't find it upon looking while I was out.
There was also a miscommunication re the ETA of the truck/s in Ahipara. We discovered on the day of my house being loaded that the movers were going/wanting to be in Ahipara the next morning. From a phone call the day prior to moving, it was said that they would be arriving in Ahipara later on FRiday the 21st May. We worked around that & made sure we got up to Ahipara before the truck.
On the whole the guys on the ground at both ends were AWESOME! Snowy was great as was his team. The same goes for the AKL based Conroys employees. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them.
As a constructive criticism - Brooke could have been more responsive with her replies & also the queries about the quadbike. Maryanne though was onto it from the outset & was prompt, polite & got everything sorted. I don't know if the miscommunication re the quad was with Daniel or Brooke but regardless they needed to be more forthcoming & clear with their responses.
Please thank the guys on the ground at both ends for us - nothing was too much trouble for any of them & they worked hard to reduce the stress caused by the glitches & did that successfully. They were great!!
All was fine apart from our tv was broken somewhere along the way
All requests on website .internet for quotes and all service should be immediately directed to communicatons of city of uplift for removal. I was only. able to get immediate date for removal after visiting the office personally. In Islington...this only has caused your star rating. Packing pickup staff in LYTTELTON f were amazing .
There was some difficulty working out if my deadline for pickup could be met.
I had to wait a 2nd day for picking up.
I thought the cost was way to high for the amount of gear I had. A stretcher is a lot different to a bed and I had a stretcher.
The people doing the pick up were very friendly helpful and seemed very efficient which was great
Paperwork side of things online was done okay (but drop off contact details not given to driver for drop off in Auckland) and pickup was done well. Delivery outside promised time and I got a call from the driver the day before he was going to deliver as my number was the only one he had for drop off - The correct number should have been communicated to him. He then expected me to organise the drop off with my neice, I felt that his job so gave him her name/number - it has been dropped off
I gave this service a three star rating because i felt the communication around the move wasn't overly great. A couple of times i had to make a phone call to confirm what was happening at certain points and i strongly feel that i shouldn't have to do that. Some of my doubts may have seemed trivial to staff but it must be remembered that you don't do a move on this scale very often. Also one major item, an office chair went missing in the move and or delivery. I don't know who's fault that is but it's clearly not ideal. I also understand these things can happen.
