Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersWe did not employ Conroy removals rather Marlborough Moving contracted them , the truck and trailer so it would be difficult to review Conroy's service other than the truck delivered to us as asked.
Compared to other moving companies that could move me across country, the price was very reasonable. The crews at both ends were efficient and courteous. With this move occurring over two days, ie pick up on Tuesday and delivery on Wednesday, something happened overnight. As when my things arrived some items were trashed. My grandmother's drop leaf dining table had two of the metal casters snapped off, my mother's typing table was broken, large plastic tubs demolished, a new sofa had the fabric underneath ripped, this is all that I have discovered thus far. These things are not worth much, but are irreplaceable. I've moved over 42 times in my life time, 4 of these moves to different countries, never have I experienced this level of damage.
I recommended Conroy's to people moving and they used Conroy's.
Our delivery out of storage to our new home was not as smooth as it could have been, with missed communication around the delivery time and then being short staffed when making the delivery. The two people who turned up were excellent but luckily there were three of us to help with unloading etc.
Under estimated on size of household goods.Consignment handled too many times, Breakages and damage goods. Lack of communication and unanswered emails. Would never use this company again or recommend.
The packing team were great tho
Given the global logistic circumstances with COVID-19 I am not sure there is anything more that CONROY could do to improve communication (the part which we felt was lacking). Our container was delayed approximately 5 weeks which could have caused major disruption had we not anticipated a worst case planning.
Quick response and quotation.Very slow pack on the day. Two many broken items and one lost.
Expected a professional careful experience to match the premium price
The staff were excellent could not fault them on their attitude. However the quote I received said delivery on Saturday 12th June. I did not receive my goods untill Wednesday 16th June. Felt this was beyond acc eptance. Also some of the goods were quite badly damaged - wood scraped and boxes damaged.
We are still waiting for our stuff to arrive, it has been so long. It is almost 3 months since the pick up date at our home in Wellington.
The packing on the Auckland side was a bit rough with items stacked very randomly, we ended up with a marks on the tables and chairs etc due to the garden tools placed straight on top of them, however the Guys in the Hawkes bay were great , we were held up for keys they waited for us and sent extra men to get the job done faster a big thankyou to them
Let me first say that there were soem lovely people that I had the pleasure of being assisted by, Namely Rhonda of the Brisbane office. i felt that she must have been under a lot of work pressures though as it did take a bit of time to get a reply to my emails.
I did have to change the first quote as my daughter was initally coming back to NZ with me, however her situation chaned and she had to stay in Brisbane. I was led to believe that this was going to be a easy update. The changes were made on the 1/03/2021 and I did recived the updated Quote on the smae date, however it was still wrong. After a lot of back and forward emails and phone calls via Rhonda to Gary, I finally recieved a correct quote on the 1/04/2021.
I had organized to have boxes delivered to my address on the 26/03/21, as I was doing some of the packing, however these did not arrive so I had to go out and collect the boxes myself on the 29/03/2021.
On arrival to NZ the shipping container was detected with ants and had to be fumigated. I was happy to pay for my part of the fumigation, but to be honest felt that it was a bit excessive in cost, as I have a family member that works with the shipping containers, and was told the amount that it cost to fumigate a containter is Less that the $461 that I paid @ Approx $41.00 per Square meter. I had to chase up the invoice from Mandeep, and requested a detail invoice but only recieved that the cost was as stated above.
Lastly, I fill out a delivery form, which I had already fill out in Brisbane and again via phone with Mandeep, explaining in the notes that I would appreciate a two hour window before the truck arived with my items. This did not happen, and when I spoke to the drivers they said that this was a on going issue.
On an up note, the packers the prepared my consignment were amazing and the delivery crew were fast efficent and lovely to deal with.
It all started off really good. Fair price, good communication and nice people to deal with etc. then it all seemed to unravel. There was a delay in picking up the goods then truck couldn't collect the goods due to it's size, then I was asked to pay an additional $300 even though there was no change to the specifications in the original quote. Now I'm being asked to compete this customer survey and I still haven't received the goods! It's at the depot waiting for a different truck to arrive to deliver it to our home address...!
