One of your staff members had a personal appointment and needed to be back at depot by 3pm. No cover was provided so I had to run staff member back to depot (hour and a half round trip) otherwise we would have lost other staff member who had to run him back. This would have left one staff member to unload whole truck into two storey home. We hired Conroy's as my husband has a bad back and shouldn't have to do the work. Your staff did ring the office to get extra help but this wasn't offered until the last minute when two extras arrived bur truck was already 3/4 unloaded. This was a break down from the office side as we saw packers trying to get extra staff early in the day. This personally cost us time and fuel.

Conroy's was great to move with. Everyone was friendly and helpful. On moving day everything went well but it was frustrating that we were left with two items that wouldn't fit on the truck. With the stress of moving, we then had the added stress of having to organise a trailer to get these items to our new house. We have never had this issue before and moved twice before with a moving company.

The truck provided was too small and I had to hire a separate van at the last minute to move the overflow which held up the entire move and did become a logistical nightmare. I can't fault the crew that moved me though, they were outstanding. I had ordered my truck weeks ago so definitely wasn't a last minute thing. I'd also like to commend the driver of the Conroys truck that moved in the purchasers of my property I sold. When he turned up to move them in, he made no hesitation in helping us move out, he was amazing! We worked it all out in the end but just a reccommendation re size of the truck, it's aboslutely imperative it's the right size.

I possibly won't be so effusive while dealing with Conroy Removals is a pleasure sadly the condition of much of my furniture upon delivery is extremely disappointing. Obviously the handling of many precious items behind the scenes is lacking in the high level of quality I'd expect.

First, I found the booking process to be excellent. Being able to handle everything online was a dream for me, as I much prefer online interactions over phone calls. The moving team was friendly and approachable, which I appreciated.
However, I was disappointed with the overall pace of the move. While I understand that moving into an apartment can pose some challenges, this was by far the slowest moving experience I’ve ever encountered.
Additionally, this is the first move I’ve had where so much glass was broken. While accidents happen, it added to my dissatisfaction with the service.
I was billed for 5.5 hours, which included the team’s lunch break. I don’t believe I should be charged for time when work wasn’t being carried out, especially since lunch breaks are not typically paid time.
Finally, the last item—a table—took nearly an hour to move into the apartment because the legs needed to be removed. I sent my husband to check on the delay and discovered the team was waiting for another truck to bring tools. It’s unacceptable for a moving company not to have basic tools on hand. As a result, I feel I was unfairly charged for that unnecessary waiting time.
While I have made payment, this experience was disappointing, and I will not use Conroy again or recommend your services.
The organisation of the move, and getting the timeline sorted was good. However there were a number of items damaged, broken, or scratched that suggested some lack of care in loading and/or moving the goods. Given the pressure of time and a large move, it was inevitable for some damage, but with a little more care and attention damage to tools and appliances should have been avoided. A number of boxes were split and had been dropped. Fortunately the packing inside the boxes had largely avoided greater damage to fragile items.
This is the third move we have done with Conroys, and although the largest it had more damage than seen in previous moves.
There were only two people to load the truck so my friend was there for hours waiting for it to be done.
The inventory they made was useless as it didn't match up with the actual items listed. Not all the sheets were numbered so hard to work out sequence. Good job we made our own inventory as this is what we had to use on unload.
There were fragile items packed at the bottom of heavy items. It was a miracle more stuff wasn't broken including the treadmill console. A garden pot was smashed and a box of crockery - luckily not our mother's Noritake.
One of the unloaders was very rude and disrespectful to my partner.
We won't recommend this company again.
In general the storage of our household effects was managed well, in terms of uplift, communication, and then the return to our house. Unfortunately, there were a number of damaged items which we now need to claim insurance on, a process we are starting now. For example, some of our appliances were dented and the couch came back with spots and marks. In addition to this, Conroy place a small sticker on every item of furniture to help identify them as ours. This makes a lot of sense, but the type of sticker means it does not come off easily, leaving a lot of residue. We spent a few hours scrubbing off the sticker residue from all our wooden furniture.
Overall I loved the service, however, it was frustrating getting told someone from the pick up team will be in contact and they don't - Rachel was awesome in sorting things out. I was gutted to see a box clearly labeled as fragile on the bottom of heaps of other things in a container, however it may be been mostly protected by other items as only 1 item was broken :( Even though I was asked to check things were in the correct room, it is very difficult to check a pile of 5 or 6 boxes and then to discover a number were in the incorrect room :(
Initial communication and customer service from excellent.
The pick up in Christchurch side was mostly fine except was quite late and I had to ring to find out what was happening. I recommend you call in future to advise it will be late.
The delivery guys in Gisborne were not that good though. I didn't get informed of delivery time day before, so wasn't even aware when they showed up. Luckily I was home, but not sure what would have happened if I wasn't home.
Secondly, while unloading the furniture they were very careless. I saw them drop my bedside drawers from the truck. I do understand accidents happen but in this case, it was very avoidable. I could see it was going to happen even before it did because of the way it had been stacked, but didn't have time to call out to warn them. It happened too fast. More care should have been taken.
The drawers have been damaged as a result. They did take photos and took it with them, so I assume I will get contacted about it so I can get in touch with my insurance.
I have used Conroy previously and had good experience so won't let this affect me too much, but I was a little disappointed at the lack of care taken on delivery.
Some boxes were also not handled correctly (eg held wrong way up) etc.
I havent yet opened all my boxes so hopefully there's nothing else broken.
