Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersBooking process was fine however we had damage to our new home wall a gouge. A couple of Boxes were stacked on top of each other with no regard to what the label said was in them hence had about 6 breakages of China in one box. Alcohol boxes was put upside down so was spillage thru the box. We engaged Conroys but the truck that arrived had 2 men and a truck on the side. We had been warned not to use this company as they tended to be a bit rough thats why we went to Conroys.
Whilst I appreciated the quick turn around I felt like I was always chasing for information. It would have been really helpful to be sent a guide as to what to pack/leave/prepare when you are staying in your house right up to moving date.
I was suprised (especially given Covid) that the packers were not wearing gloves, especially when packing our kitchen and bathroom items. No masks or sanitiser was used either. On packing days rather than moving days I think the packers should have 'inside shoes' to wear or covers for their shoes when not going in and out of the house all the time.
The standard of packing was overall done very well and we only had damage to one piece of furniture.
I was disppointed in the comunication regarding late arrival of uplifters
There are always things that get damaged unfortunately.
Pickup and packing with the napier branch was fantastic. Delivery from the Christchurch branch was the complete opposite. I had to phone multiple times on the scheduled day of delivery to see if it was still happening and was told there was scheduled delivery of my stuff for that day??? When they did finally deliver they somehow lost an office chair that was part of the delivery. I would definitely recommend if only dealing with the napier branch but will avoid christchurch branch moving forward.
Only thing is communication. there was no call to say the furniture was being dropped off to the Christchurch store and arrived at a really bad time
I enjoyed the great communication with Sally Sok insetting up the logistics. Colby was an outstanding packer, and everything made it intact so far...however, all boxes from kitchen were labeled k-ware, and some hint as to what was inside would have been helpful. He was alone whereas salute had told me a crew would pack the house, so he was a bit rushed perhaps. Dave the loader and t Tim the Truckie were on the removal end, and tim seemed untrained at his helper job but was a good driver. Dave noted the container was not conroys and had very few places to tie the load securely in place...I noted that they were only at the top and ver few at that. At the delivery end Robin was great, but his helper was hopeless...very rough, did not care about my stuff of his job...told me his arm hurt and could I help carry a few things. Didn't trust him at all and had to stop him several times when he was rough with the TV , the Keyes and had several boxes turned sideways when they clearly said up this way. Carried 2boxes in on dolly at a time and never knew where the bottom one was headed, so I had to lift off the top one and move the bottom to the correct part of the house...I worked 3years for Mayflower in USA 50 years ago, and if I had been Steve they would have fired me for about 5reasons. Maybe I see more than your normal customer, but you asked and I think attention to who you hire would go a long way toward customer satisfaction .. along with some basic training. Customer relation skills for all involved, and how to be careful and conscientious...treat other people's stuff as if it were fragile, important, and valuable should be basic things everyone should know.
The boxes did not arrive door to door as expected, dropped off some 20 km away. The boxes when picked up were somewhat worse for wear. Several smashed items that were well packed.
The administration of our removal was great everybody very helpful, the packing was good but the actual removal, pickup and delivery could be improved
1. I'm pleased that Conroy gives the quote for the service fast.
2. I'm pleased that the service cost is competitive as compared to other removal services.
3. I'm pleased that the work flow is efficient, the workers are strong and helpful.
4. I'm not happy with the packing. I self-packed my stuff. I also explained to the workers which items should be handled with care. In my case, I have a few instruments (guitars), and a new beehive. When they arrived at my new house, I realised that they put the guitars in a big and tall carton together with many other hardware stuff like table/chair parts, luckily all my instruments were protected by the bags so they had no damage. But still that's not the way to handle instruments. Unfortunately, my electric piano had a chip in the middle, which is obvious. My beehive was handled in the same way, and it was seriously damaged. A metal sheet was distorted and fell off.
5. I'm very disappointed that the cooktop (glass) of my stand oven top was totally broken. It was seriously damaged. One leg of a wooden table was broken. One leg of the fridge was broken and now it can't stand in balance.
