Toolbench had obviously been dropped and is now unstable including being delivered without a wheel (this unit weighs 180kg so is very unsafe not to have all wheels), other items like a record player were shoved sideways in to boxes with no packing and now does not work. Smashed glass and damaged appliances and boxes completely torn open with items falling out. We now have to go through the lengthy process of an insurance claim which is not ideal. I also had to update the same details multiple times, including being contacted for an uplift when I had postponed it, phone numbers etc. Just disappointed as we picked Conroys as having a good reputation! I appreciated the initial customer service, and the updates as our items were shipped, but having so many damaged items has really put a damper on the experience.
One of the 60 ltre plastic bins was smashed on delivery because heavy boxes were put on it.
My concrete chair arrived with pieces missing from the bottom I wasn't given the broken bits and was told it was like that when picked up but I have photos to prove it was in perfect condition
Olive and Brooke were wonderful and helpful. I asked the driver when he arrived whether I needed to bubble wrap the furniture as I was just about to do it as the driver arrived slightly early - he assured me that no wasn't necessary as they put heavy blankets over everything - and he did. However when the furniture arrived which are most precious to me as belonged to my recently deceased mother so hold lots of memories for me - the table had one leg completely ripped off and smashed in another corner. I still don't know where to go to find out if fixable, I can't see how it can be, The wee chair is all marked up one leg as must have been rubbing up against something and the same although no it as bad with the writing bureau. As I said I don,t even know where to go to see if someone could magically repair it. So so so disappointed and sad.
We were initially happy with the service but on arrival we noticed that some items were damaged. There were marks on a wooden chest that appeared to be from our heavy front loader washing machine and the lif which opens is now warped, also a brand new tv cabinet has damage on the edge. Also we had a brand new couch which has a tear in the front and also the back, looks like they are strap marks. We are disappointed that more care was not taken in loading our furniture as a simple thing like cardboard could have been used around the couch to prevent the strapping from cutting in and causing the tears, the same for the wooden furniture, to place a heavy washing machine on top of wooden furniture seems wrong, it could have also been the fridge as there are obvious marks from the feet. There were fortunately no breakages but some of the boxes were very squashed so maybe more luck than anything else. We paid a lot of money for our possessions to be moved and are disappointed in the service we paid for. I did take photos of the damage and will send them if requested.
Over all I am happy with exception of the damage caused at pick up. Damage to wall linings and lack of care with spa pool. Drop of crew where excellent
The guys were friendly and efficient but several items were broken and damaged upon arrival.
The movers were friendly and efficient, helpful and cheerful. On delivery there were some hinges and screws missing from a couple of items, not broken but next to the items. I found Campbell Chadwick difficult to deal with on the phone. He was very short and a bit rude in our first conversation, however by email he was efficient and fine. He was the expert and I found that he spoke to me as if I should know what to do and what information he needed, when I needed to be walked through this as I am not an expert. The outcome and the overall move was great and I would reccommend but would suggest that the expectations were made clear right fromthe start.
The guys who came to pick up our stuff and the guys who delivered it were all great. Friendly and efficient. All our items were delivered safely, and the one breakage was easily repaired.
What we didn't appreciate was the organisation of the move.
On pickup day, instead of arriving at 8am as promised , they were delayed until 9am, and no-one thought to ring us and tell us of the delay. It would have been so easy and so helpful. Then on delivery day we were promised delivery at 1pm, and the deadline came and went before we were called at 2.20pm to say they were delayed and would be there at 4pm, then at 4.20pm they rang to say they would be there about 5pm, then two minutes later they rang to say they wouldn't be there at all that day. They came the next day more or less on schedule. The representative who dealt with us had said earlier that they understood how stressful moving house can be and they were there to help reduce the stress, but it was Conroys who contributed most to the stress in the end.
Initial problems with first point of call led to some frustration but was quickly solved by other staff members. It is important that you stick to delivery planning given as this is how we pack stuff or decide to send by NZ mail if goods are needed. There were some hassles but solved appropriately and I ended up getting my delivery within 7-10 working days and not the Friday after Labour Weekend, puck up was 6th October.
Rachel Wallace was very helpful, and the two gentlemen who picked up in Auckland were great.
However, there was not a lot of accurate communication from the rest of the crew regarding when my stuff would actually arrive. I realize you have the same issues (employee sick days, etc.) as the rest of New Zealand, but it was frustrating to plan time off to be able to meet the truck, and have the truck show up at 4:30 PM two days after expected. In addition, almost every single lid on the 'systema' type plastic storage tubs was broken, so they are unusable now, and difficult to store. Not the end of the world, but frustrating to me.
