Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersMy items were delivered quickly and in good condition. The frontline team were positive and professional to deal with.
Unfortunately, Conroy lost one of my items during the move, and despite repeated emails about it, they never even responded. A disappointing way to conclude what would have otherwise been a really positive experience.
Our move was made complicated and slower because Conroys were clearly unfamiliar with the street we were moving to which is narrow and steep. The driver of the moving truck was initially unsure if he could get into the street and then had to park on the road blocking access for others. We assisted the Conroys team to move items up the steep driveway into the house. While the guys on the day were positive, worked hard and adapted, this would have been avoided by Conroys checking the street (which is a hill address) beforehand if they were not already familiar. A smaller truck could have parked up the driveway and made the move quicker and much less of a physical demand on us.
Customer service to book and arrange was fantastic. Furniture arrived within estimated range which was also great. Movers didn't disconnect the washing machine properly causing my laundry to flood over several days. They also left big gouge marks in my recently sanded and varnished wooden floor, from moving some items. Some furniture was also damaged during the move. Unfortunately all of that is difficult to put a cost estimate on, meaning difficult to claim under insurance. I would've thought an experienced moving company would know how to disconnect washing machines and take care with moving furniture.
The service was great until the last day. I did not get a call to inform me of the delivery to the storage unit where it was dropped in a general unsecure zone. The response to my query was that attempts to contact me by phone to an incorrect number were unsuccesful. I don't understand why they only used one method of contact when email was available. I had to lift heavy parcels when I had paid for this service.
I am missing a guitar from the move. It is a Campania acoustic that still maybe in Napier
Missing a couple of boxes of items and need to find them asap
We have moved a number of times, with various moving companies, we have never had so much property broken or damaged.
Everything has been fine upto the point where we needed help in extending our marine insurance as we wish to store our goods in the UK for a longer period
We have on numerous occasions emailed our contacts with Conroys and haven't had any communication back.
If we'd received a reply back to our request you would of got a higher star rating than we've given.
I had great service from the agent on the phone in New Zealand. They arranged to pick up my boxes the next day and I went by the website saying 6/8 weeks. 4 months later the items were shipped. In the end we had been in the Uk for 3 weeks and had to collect the boxes ourselves to get access to our belongings. I would not recommend this process as very complicated with customs forms etc. paying duty for goods that are not new/ usually taxed. Length of time far too long.
Your Napier/Gisborne crew was NOT good. 1. They arrived 2 hrs late without an apology and//or explanation 2.All packing was in slow motion - no sense of urgency and lack of organisation. 3. Substandard preparation - some items were packed without protection - loose. Whatever may be their excuse - it was painfull to observe.4. While waiting for their late arrival, i've tried to contact Napier office asking for an explanation/update without any luck. Delivery service was exactly opposite: on time (other than1 day late - stuff did not arrive from Gisborne), crew definitely swithed on, well organised - exact oppsite as Gisborne crew. I assume, the Gisborne event was an aberration. You have moved me on other occasions and I experienced no problems.
I had to keep checking with you when the shipment was arriving into NZ. I did get a couple of emails, but it wasn't regular. I expected that the delivery agents would've stayed longer and unpacked more items. They did put the beds up and put the furniture in the right rooms which was good. They were friendly, but wanted to leave after two hours only. It took two days to pack our stuff. One of the guys went to the loo and stayed there for ages on the phone, while the other two were left to unpack.
There are some breakables but your guys were only here for one when I unpacked it - a vase which is broken.
Initially Conroys were great. The quote was quick. The team that came to pack were friendly and effecient but did not have enough labels so many boxes were unlabelled which left us a bit nervous. It took some follow up to get our inventory list. The wait to have our things transported was quite long but not Conroys fault at all. I felt I had to follow up a lot on both the NZ and Australia end. We had a few items broken, which happens but the issue I have is the the additional expenses to move my car over which were not communicated and the biggest issue, a scratch on the back of my new car that Conroys is denying happened whilst it was in their possession.
