There did not appear to be a site / project leader/manager on either in Auckland or Tauranga.
I could not fault their advocacy for your company and work ethics and getting the job done.
However, they were a pleasure to work with, had it not been for 3x avoidable mistakes
1. Running into one of our parked cars, in the street and causing $11,000 of damage and necessitating for it to be left in Auckland as it was not driveable.
2. Bedroom drawer unit: I asked that due to the items weight and on the guidance of the manufacturer; that the drawers and the legs were removed for carriage. To assist I removed the drawers to expedite the process. The legs were not removed, and one was broken off in transit and the body of the cabinet was also ruptured.
3. Our china cabinet has survived two previous shifts, over similar distances without a mark. It has been shifted as one complete unit each time. Explained this to the Tauranga unloading team who decided to dismantle/remove the top from the bottom. That would have been fine, if they had not dropped/scraped the bottom of the top unit whilst carrying it inside, causing visible splintering along the visible edge of the cabinet .
I will need Conroy's to put right all these three accidental, but avoidable damage events.
I look forward to hearing from you promptly.
Regards
Dennis
Unfortunately missed packing kitchen under stink cupboard and also laundry under sink cupboard. Also left a wooden blanket box in a large bedroom cupboard.
When I booked my move the email confirmation said I would be contacted the day prior to confirm the booked time, this did not happen. I made a call to follow up myself to be told they could not give me a confirmed time. I then received a call the day of to say they would be there at lunch time (12pm) however didn't turn up until 2pm.
The removal team also damaged my belongings. When they arrived at the new property a desk had been snapped off its metal legs and hit my fridge during the transportation putting a large gouge on the right hand side of the fridge. I paid for insurance and would like someone to contact me to discuss how this can be retified.
Though the above wasn't the best first experience using Conroys, I do give credit to the team who worked in the rain and got the job done in a timely manner.
The team overall provded excellent service and called us in Welington and delivered promptly. One disappointing aspect was when we asked the team to take away the plastic packaging that the furniture was delivered in, we were advised that they would leave it with us. It would have been helpful to unpack from the plastic covers and remove this rubbish. In highsight we should not have signed off without the team unpacking as we could not tell if damaged in transit. luckily as should be the case they were not. In future we would expect the team to unpack and remove packaging and that this is agreed prior.
Zero communication from Palmerston North end around pickup timing.Kitset drawers damaged essentially beyond use (runners off every drawer, damaged back board, missing pieces), not the highest quality item but still seems exceptionally high level of damage. Professional uplift and dropoff once staff present, presumably an issue with offload/reload in warehouse when customer not present. wouldnt move anything fragile
The guys on the day were very polite & efficient, but they used the same outdoor trolleys, indoors which put muddy track marks on the freshly cleaned carpet. After they left we also discovered the 3 mattresses, a bed base & 2x cow hide rugs were very wet & our custom upholstered bed base had a rub/tear from the strapping. I gave that feedback to the person who did a follow up call & received an email a couple days later to say our insurance type didnt cover it. We are dissappointed in how you have handled this, we didn't raise it as an insurance issue, we thought you would care that not only did you deliver 3x wet bed, but you didn't tell us so we only discovered them when we went to make the beds a few hours later. We had also been assured when we got the quote that you would wrap the furniture in blankets for the move, but this didn't happen & lead to the bed base being rubbed down through the fabric. We fail to see how this is an insurance issue, rather than a service issue. And at no point has anyone acknowledged that it's a shame that things got wet & damaged.
Service in chch was brilliant however the company is expensive with no real justification for the cost having moved 4 times in the last 8 years this was the most expensive by far and was let down by poor communication in Auckland. Also getting emails from multiple people throughout the move was confusing.
we are very pleased with how the move went. the only feedback is in relation to the rubbish that was left in the garden at our house whcih included empty tape rolls and lunch wrappers. Would have expected the guys asked for a rubbish bin. We also had our fibre glass paddle board dragged up the driveway in its bag. It is a heavy item but needs to be carried. I hope that our goods are handled gently in terms of when unpacked. Thank you for helping us move. we will see you again in about 6 weeks when we move into our house in Taupo.
