Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersOne item was not delivered. One item that was brand new and still in original boxing was damaged and needs full replacement. Have lodged insurance claim and have been told to get repair quote - it was brand new and the manufacturer says serious damage. It looks like it has been dropped. Such a hassle. Good people who delivered the items and once I made contact there was good comms re delivery. The boxes looked very beaten up and damaged. We personally transported all kitchen and breakable items for fear of breakage. If we hadn't done this we would've had more damage. When booking was surprised a definite delivery date couldn't be agreed. That led to us sending less with Conroy and doing more ourselves.
Your communications and office staff have all been amazing. Your online systems are great too, very efficient. What let you down in our case was the packing of our things. I had lamps with fabric shades that were put into boxes with other items with no protection so that when they were unpacked the shades were dented. I have a laminated world map that was similarly packed and now looks worse for wear. I have put in a claim for 2 damaged items. I have a plastic floor mat for under an office chair, that was rolled and taped. It was taped directly on the mat which has left a sticky mess on it now. Also the washing machine and drier were left in the house yet still listed on the inventory. If we went moving back into the same house that could have been a disaster.
Your process and communication was excellent. The people that moved me either end were friendly, helpful and professional.
Unfortunately, a lot of my furniture has been damaged and items broken or ruined. Here's the list:
My $1000 dresser glass is cracked
$500 bin is broken, dented, won't stay closed, unusuable - it fell onto the head of the guy unpacking my stuff in Auckland. My tallboy is scratched all down the side where the drawers open removing vanish
glass bowl smashed
the plants were all covered with items that crushed them - roughly 20 plants destroyed
Wooden tv unit ($2,000) has dents and gouges in the top of it. $2,000 art work box broken through 5 layers of cardboard and wrapping. despite asking for a tv box to be used, it was not packed in the box.
There are more examples. It feels like a real lack of care of my possessions. I was incredibly particular with my packing and bubble wrapped everything with multiple layers and high quality boxes. The movers even commented on how good the packing was. It didn't seem to help.
I had expected a certain level of damage to occur but this was a lot more than my move from the UK to NZ and my multiple moves around NZ.

I would always recommend Conroys as have used ( via Derek in chch) fir over 30 years however I was disappointed when the staff member I spoke to said you did Saturday mornings but not afternoons my daughter arranged everything someone to be with her etc then your other lady called from Conroy Napier and said you didn't at all do saturdays I was very annoyed at the Wellington woman as it put everyone out
The delivery arrived a week later than indicated. I flew down to Wanaka to receive the delivery which didn't arrive which was disappointing. Until I go down at Christmas time to inspect the goods I'm unsure whether they have arrived in good condition or not. However in saying this the staff were all informative and pleasant to deal with, the delivery timing let you down.
Just a quick bit of feedback, the service says the beds will be wrapped in plastic but unfortunately your guys didn't have these bags available on pick up in Taupo - and only wrapped one of the two mattresses on arrival back in Napier. As a result, our brand new mattress has been marked.
Other than that, it was a speedy service with good communication.

Very disappointed that the shipping labels were put on the front face of the furniture, even after asking the young man not to put it on the fair face. Spent some considerable time having to peel the labels off. Other than that, happy with the work done.
Brilliant moving but not great on delivery

Europe side: we don't have our shipment yet!
The communication is so poor, they asking for same document all over, customer service answering emails with delay, now we have to wait until more shipment come to our destination area so they can send a truck to finally deliver.....
The communication about my shipments progress to NZ was good, and the unloaders were very fast and friendly. However no communication was made about when the shipment would be delivered to my house, and I wasn't home when it arrived. I don't know why I wasn't contacted but it was a very disappointing ending to the delivery.
I was told 4 hours but the guys finished after three hours and there were still items that needed to be removed. We are having trouble removing some of them because they are heavy (pot plants and large garden boxes, one which is also a seat. I don't really blame the guys, it was storming and everyone got soaked. They were lovely guys and if I had to I would use them again.
This is our second time using Conroys. During the first move, our tv was damaged. The second time, our microwave was smashed as it was being loaded - before it even made transit, We're mindful that there is always a risk and insurance is an option available to us, but at what point does duty of care take precedent? The packing/unpack teams in Wellington and Christchurch were very friendly, cheerful and hard-working. They're all a credit to your company. We are still waiting to hear back from the sales rep who was going to speak to operations about our microwave, it's been almost a week now.
