Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersWe have used Conroy’s several times in the past for both small and large house moves, and have generally been satisfied with their service. However, our most recent experience was disappointing for a number of reasons. Both the collection and drop-off times were delayed by 1-2 two hours and was not communicated, which was inconvenient. Despite the poor weather conditions, no floor coverings were used, resulting in our carpets becoming very damp and dirty. Many of our items, although clearly labelled, were placed in the wrong rooms. We also found that several items were damaged during transit and handling - for example, a table leg was ripped off our dining table. Additionally, boxes marked as “fragile” were stacked with heavy boxes on top, causing damage to the contents. I was also directed to numerous different Conroy staff via email and phone, and was invoiced by separate staff members, which added further confusion. Lastly, the storage costs were unclear. We paid for a full month of storage, but the invoice reflected a pro-rata amount, which was confusing. Unfortunately, due to these issues, we are unlikely to use Conroy’s again for our future moves.
We were really disappointed this time. We used your services in January and the Taranaki guys were exemplary. They packed things we hadn't done really well and preferred to make sure things were packed together - TV and well marked box for its bits etc. They did a such a great job that we never got any other quote to take us home to Hawera. BUT. from the get go things didn't go according to plan. From where we were actually going, to how much stuff we had - I had to correct both and get a requote twice - through to knowing, coming from a trucking family, that despite the Google terrain search, the truck could not get all the way up the driveway and would need a ferry vehicle. Which they discovered was correct as I'd noted on the quote acceptance form, the night before the shift. Then, based on our previous experience, to discover they had not bought much at all in the way of additional packing materials, pictures were leaned upright against the ferry truck wall with nothing to stop them falling over until my husband had to race out and tell the young bloke to think about potholes etc and what was likely to happen. The hardest part though was the damage done to a provenanced piece of rimu furniture that cannot be fixed or replaced. It was deeply gouged at the top. There was other damage to other things, but I can live with that - it was the cabinet that really bothered me. My suggestion is that as a company, you identify the region that is being reviewed, because while we would give the Taranaki crew from top to bottom plus five stars, the Nelson crew who packed us would be lucky to get three.
We had a mixed experience with our shift. Larger furniture only, and in storage for 8 weeks. The team who picked it up, and delivered it to our new address were all pleasant and worked at a steady pace. However, some items sustained damage; minor scratches, bumps, bruises, and the hutch dresser had been dragged over a hard surface, causing significant scraping along the bottom edge. Disappointing considering we take care of our furniture.
Insurance, whether it be Conroys, or your own, is all very well, but you shouldn't have to be made to deal with it because of someone else's carelessness.

Communication was very poor. Seven months to get my goods from Western Australia to NZ. No updates unless I asked and then slow or no response.
Three parts to my consignment, one got damaged in transit had to be repaired then turned up separate to other two, deliverer had no idea where other two parts were. Two days later I get a call saying truck at my place with two packages to deliver - I'm at work, no prior warning he was coming, lucky my husband could get there as truckie was running out of hours!

This was our seventh move with Conroy's
The truck arrived on time to collect our furniture. Communication was not great all round. They cost us an extra truck due to the large truck not having a tail lift.

The guys at both ends used the F word a lot talking to each other, my neighbours would have heard them! I've an old English jug broken, a vase and glass so far.

Generally this was a good service, the rep was engaging and connected to the process. The charge was high for the relocation. The only issue was that on the day of the uplift from our house in Hawke's Bay the labour force of four staff as agreed to arrive with the truck, did not turn up for three hours, eventually arriving on site at 12 noon and promptly stopping for lunch. The poor truck driver who had been on site from 0900hrs as arranged did three hours of truck loading solo. This meant that my daughter and I pitched in to move our belongings around during the process and we were delayed in our own travel arrangements to return to Auckland. We eventually had to drive through the night arriving at 11pm at night rather than the planned 730pm. This was entirely due to the delay in the Conroy labour force. Quite dissapointing and very inconvenient. During the three hour delay I could not get an answer from any of my Conroy contact numbers, which was very stressful. I genuinely feel that our experience requires a proportionate refund to our bill as a gesture of good faith and customer relations. At this point, I would not currently recommend this service. The Hastings driver Steve and the Auckland crews were excellent.
Kind regards

The two-person team was lovely, friendly, and efficient; however, we have noticed a few extra dings on our stainless steel fridge-freezer since its delivery, and the TV was handled in a way that left huge marks all over the screen. We weren't expecting our goods to be handled so roughly.
