Still waiting for goods. Called on Friday (16/06/23) and apparently container had only just arrived in Perth - we sent goods in February!
We are still waiting for our goods to arrive. We have not heard if they have arrived in Australia. We would like an update.
Dirt Carried In
The guys did good. Our only complaint was the dirt they carried into the carpet at the delivery location. It would be unreasonable to expect the lads to take their boots off and on but protection of carpets and tile surfaces should be a priority. I grabbed a pile of the blankets a d spread them across the floor which minimised the problem but feel that this was something they should have done rather than expect me to do it. If clients are expected to provide such protection they should be pre-warned.
The teams that did the packing and delivery were very efficient, friendly and made an effort to ensure that the houses were not damaged when moving the furniture and boxes into/out off the houses.So far, the only items damaged in the packed boxes, are a coffee mug and 2 x aluminimum chinese steamers have been dented and are misshapped.Quite a few pieces of furniture were damaged in the move. It looks like not enough blankets were used or as if other items have been pushed across another piece.Two holes were punched into the back of my retro sideboard and a piece of veneer was chipped off. In the last 44 years, this cabinet had been moved 6 times without being damaged.There is gouge in the top of one of our headboards. The carving on my camphor wood glorybox was damaged.A 2-piece wall unit and TV unit in whitewood mysteriously have blue marks on them.A yellow handcart was not in the delivery truck.We haven't been able to assemble one of our bedframes as we cannot find the brackets. Nor have we been able to find any picture hooks to hang our pictures and mirrors.
Damage
Service and communication was great although you damaged 3 different pieces of furniture and so I will be submitting an insurance claim (I used my contents insurance provider).
Still Can't Find Stuff.
Alot of property left at house. Some drawers still full of clothes and kitchen drawers. Lawnmower, weedeater, Step ladder, wine barrel, wheelie bins, all left behind. Had to get a trailer round to collect the rest of our stuff. Boxes poorly labelled, still can't find stuff.
Had to sign a form on delivery but had no idea why as I didn't know what had or hadn't been delivered or damaged.
A Little Disappointing
Have had great service in the past but this time a little disappointing. The axe that arrived did not have the inventory sticker on it and was definitely not my axe. Mine was a quality Wetterling axe, what arrived was a work out, rusted Mitre 10 job. Spade and shovel didn't make it on to the inventory and correspondingly didn't arrive. Large pictures all had damaged corners, 3 of 4 frames irreparably so. 10 of the cartons had travelled from Japan without a mark but arrive here with rips and dents. Other cartons were self packed, not with major transportation in mind, and most arrived squashed of dented. I would have expected more care. Have not had a chance to open and check for damage - hopefully tomorrow and hopefully no damage. Will be in touch if necessary.
Was easy to contact service team and get through comms. However even though we went throught what needed to be taken on a room by room basis, the kitchen cuboards were not packed and the out-house was also not moved (which had pre-packed boxes in it)
At least they left boxes for us to complete the rest.
Disappointed
We were disappointed in the amount of damages to our furniture etc with this move and that the truck leaked and our things were sitting in it for 6 days. We have had to throw away our single bed as the mattress was soaked right through. A dresser had one side of the mirror arm snapped off, screen door a hole in it, sideboard badly scratched, suitcases and some boxes wet. Airing rack all bent.
Unfortunately a communication's breakdown towards the end, which was frustrating. I know there are challenges getting stuff between the islands, which is also frustrating for Conroys, but working on.
