packing was done well.
Good response to my request for a quote.
I will be submitting a claim for the damaged walls
I can't answer the last two questions honestly because they would be 'that depends'. I have to say the Tauranga team were amazing, exemplary and I hope they are well looked after and rewarded. A big shout out to them. However, it was as the reviews said about using Conroy to move from Tauranga to Auckland - the Auckland end of things let things down. I didn't receive half of my things, couldn't set up beds and therefore couldn't really start to unpack let alone work. It was a long weekend and then a neighbour said she'd seen a lot of belongings on another floor and they'd been there all weekend. So, even though the crew knew exactly where they were supposed to go they neglected to deliver them and left them on the wrong floor which we would never have known if we hadn't met the neighbour by chance. We were shocked and appalled, not to mention very tired and it has slowed down the whole move and heightened the stress. Plus impacted business. Doug was great in trying to help though.
Commuinactions during arrival process from Lynn and Susan was excellent. Movers on the day were an hour late and then promptly managed to get their vehicle stuck on my drive. This took more than an hour to remove blocking neighbours access during this time.
Although I paid for unwrapping service guys were not keen to unwrap much and mentioned toolbox meeting that morning saying they didn't unwrap many items. Less that 1/4 items unwrapped.
All in all an average experience.
Our move from Australia to NZ was generally hassle free. The service of the Australian Crew was second to none - right from the time of quote with Gary, Rhonda who looked after the administration of the move was fabulous - through to the guys who turned up for two days to pack and load the container. Big shout out to them. The wrapping and packing of our gear was amazing. All furniture and items were wrapped so carefully and treated with care, there was an amazing attitude of the team - nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile. Respectful and courteous - they really made a stressful experience much, much easier. Communication with us was great overall - we knew every step of the way where our things were and what was happening without having to ask. 5 Stars Plus for the Australian experience.
Things were not so seamless when handed over to NZ. We found the communication with them really lacking - our ship didn't dock at Wellington as scheduled to unload so there were some anxious moments until we emailed and asked what was happening. Our stuff was unloaded at Tauranga thankfully - but it would have been nice to receive an update about the schedule change without us having to chase up. I guess we were so used to having had such professional and timely contact with the Australian side we had assumed it would be the same in NZ.
We were updated when our goods had cleared quarantine and the unpack team arrived on schedule. Like their Australian counterparts they were cheerful and easy to deal with - but no tools with them! Not even a stanley knife to cut packaging material, or tools to put the beds back together (services we had paid for). Luckily we had one stanley knife we had carried over, and we managed to borrow another for the day. But seriously? - how can removalists not have a bag of tools in the truck.
14 items of furniture and goods were not in the truck. It was all the items that NZ quarantine had inspected and cleared but somehow they didn't make it for delivery. Conroys do have an Inventory list so we would assume it would be standard practice to check off the inventory as the truck is loaded for delivery? It was all sitting in their Wellington warehouse thankfully, but it would have saved them having to do a second run to rural NZ to deliver the outstanding. (Which also included our toolbox which would have been handy for them to unwrap and reassemble our goods in NZ on the first run).
Communication about our second delivery of missing items was poor. It was us chasing Conroys - when are getting it? - rather than a quick email from them saying sorry for the inconvenience, we'll have to you etc etc.
Would we use Conroys again or recommend them to others? We would have no hesitation from the Australian side of things - but don't have the confidence that NZ would be as efficient with the wrapping, care and loading, and that little seed of doubt makes us hesitate. Have to say the packing and delivery teams on both side of the ditch were absolutely great - friendly and helpful so no complaints there - but you need to lift your game with your NZ communication and maybe review your delivery practices. This is why you have a less than 5 star review.
Movers were an hour and 5 min late. No one let me know and no explanation was given. I had too call all the numbers I could find on the internet. Large mirror was broken during the transit.
Excellent service overall. However some packing was a bit slapdash and although we were given a delivery time in Napier, our truck was 1 1/2 hours late with no communication from the Napier. office.
The uplift was ok, but the evening before they told me they would come in the morning and not late afternoon as discussed . So we had to rush to get things sorted. the delivery date was postponed to the next day as the container was still in Wellington. They used the ferries as an excuse but they have been sailing like normal with absolutely no weather interruptions. Stuff picked up in Friday and contain still in Wellington by Thursday :-(
The guys that picked up and delivered were fantastic and no complaints there, I think the organization behind the scenes could be better. I am still waiting for a call back to explain why it was delayed, I guess I will never receive that call.
Disappointed. We paid for full packing and container storage. They turned up with a container that was many cubic metres smaller than the cubic metres that they had quoted. This meant that some of our household contents are in a container and the rest are loose somewhere. The whereabouts which we are still trying to establish.
Hux was amazing and the whole thing went really smoothly, till its got to oz and they have discovered someone wrote misc on two boxes. They now have to unpack the container find the boxes and inspect what's inside.then repack container. This has caused a huge delay for us and we still don't know when the items will make it to Darwin. This effects us so much as we have moved into a rental expecting stuff to be in Darwin by end of Jan at latest. Really not happy.
Hey team another successful move (reverse of my last move) A weird team pairing of a big guy and a skinny chap who struggled to carry items down the steps. Just one point to address would be the big guy needs to be professional and cease his stupid comments thinking himself funny, it was a tense enough situation with a relationship split moving items in and out.
our expenseve bedroom furniture has massive chunks taken out of the bed frame a side draw and a set of draws
Delivery was a day late and was informed on the morning I was expecting the delivery. This is not OK, especially when I've picked up the keys and started paying rent on that day and then had to find another place to stay. I should have been told days prior, not the morning of. However, I would like to make a big shout out to the crew that pick up the furniture in Auckland they were amazing, friendly and quick.
