The service was good once it happened the two guys that helped with the unloading were great
"The packing could have been better"
Ewen was great to deal with. Very personable, helpful and quick to reply to emails. The packing could have been better. Many books were poorly packed and bent over, some liquids were stored upside down, and bleach spray was packed with misc items including an electrical appliance. This did leak and bleach damaged a wine cooler bag. Some re used boxes did have multiple labels so it was a it of a guessing game at times as we were unpacking. The guys who came to uplift and return our belongings were great and friendly. Many thanks

"the delivery staff were not as careful"
pick up staff wonderful, knew what to do, were careful with the furniture and boxes.
delivery at other end was quicker than I expected, however between pickup and delivery a couple of items were damaged, cracked glass, scratches in wood. they didn't leave the property in this condition so somewhere along the way it was damaged.
the delivery staff were not as careful as the wellington pickup staff, they hit the door ways with the pieces they were carrying and generally did not show much care for the belongings, dropping and scraping items- really just being rough.

"Conroys is a great moving company very competitive and excellent for farm moves"
Conroys is a great moving company very competitive and excellent for farm moves .But I do have a complaint when you give me a quote that says that all beds will be packed in plastic bags and there will be boxes provided for televisions then that is what I expect would happen ,not to have the truck come and there are no bed bags or boxes for the tv .Yes I still had the box for my large TV so that was good .The other thing is i have asked twice now for receipts to my payments and still I have nothing !!! I need a receipt as the cost will be reimburesd to me from the farm and need to know that i have actually paid .so I am still waiting and if I have to keep waiting then there will be a not so polite phone call very soon !!! Goods arrived on time but three items of furniture damaged.

I would have given it a 5 star rating however my couch has been left with black marks all over it (and it's a cream couch) due to the uplifters running out of plastic wrap. I was told that they had run out however that they would wrap the couches when they got to Christchurch. This was not done and the container arrived with the couches unwrapped. One of the couches has a big black stripe down the back with black fingerprints over a number of areas due to the guys picking it up. The guys were friendly and did go out of their way to get the couches inside though (which required the door to be removed and the legs to be removed) however I was dissapointed the couches were not covered.
"I found the Salesman a little pushy"
I found the Salesman a little pushy. The bedroom boxes were all labelled 'Master' bedroom and it made it a nightmare when we intended to only bring back half the house especially when we specifically stated we were only bringing back half the house. The walls were scuffed and a light shade dented when moving furniture back into the house. Moving staff were friendly and easy to get along with.
"Very unfortunate move"
This second shift was not up to the standard of the first move. The young fellow was over confident and careless with our furniture, damaging two legs of a large steel table. I had to calm him down with his style of trying to lift heavy items by himself. Speed was all he knew. Very unfortunate move.
"OK Service - not great"
OK Service - not great. In NZ getting our stuff priced and packaged was easy and efficient however took >13 weeks for it to arrive at our house in the UK. The hold up seemed to be in the UK and neither Conroys or their UK counterpart seemed able to help/speed up the process - our stuff took >2weeks to travel from Birmingham (where it was kept after more than a week at customs) to London - a massive inconvenience. There are no set terms and conditions for this eventuality and no compensation/advice of any sort, however all parties were quick to respond to emails and communicated well.
I have mixed feelings on my on move from Wellington to Christchurch. The price quoted was very good. Graeme & Jo in Wellington were great as was Amanda in Christchurch. So for the things that didn't go so well. There was an issue with the garage door being damaged in Wellington however you resolved this by paying the bill. Also you could of packed things a little better, an example of this is some small delicate ornaments were just put inside drawers, luckily no damage or breakage. The odd box wasn't labelled properly & some items were difficult to find i.e bed legs & screws. I feel also at times communication coil of been better. On the agreed day of delivery in Christchurch we were advised to expect arrival between 8-8.30 however it didn't happen until after 10. A simple phone call to advise of this delay would have been the appropriate course of action. This would of also been appreciated in regard to delay in the furniture arriving in Christchurch. From what I was told it didn't arrive until the day before delivery. Bearing that in mind I believe the storage fee I paid is a bit much as in reality it was only in storage 1 day so shouldn't the fee be adjusted?
