"The move went OK"
The move went OK. Your AKL and WLG teams were good. Unfortunately there has been damage to our stainless steel fridge door (dented) and side (gouged and dented) as the fridge was not bubble wrapped although it was blanketed but that was not enough protection. Can an insurance claim be made about repairing such damage? I have photos available taken at the time the damage was spotted while it was being moved out of the container. Your WLG crew thought it was very bad and advised me to complain and make an insurance claim as they would not have found it acceptable if it was their own gear. Please advise soonest.

"Extremely expensive"
Extremely expensive. Was told it was high because would need van to take everything up the step drive but as someone forgot to book me in I got a small truck and 3 guys who got there at 3.30 pm and had finnished in under 2 hours. $1300 for removal and one months storage is huge. Lovely guys and lady on the phone who were very sorry and apologetic. Just the cost really. Feel ripped off.

"Unfortunately we were not impressed by Conroy professionalism"
On the 7th, Conroy removal moved our furniture and boxes from our previous house 2 km away from Gisborne township to a storage in Makaraka.
A few months ago, Nathan came to our place to calculate the volume of the house content and had obviously the opportunity to assess the steepness of the driveway and the accessibility of the house site which I am sorry to say he did not properly. Every tradesman who came to our place unanimously said it was not possible to allow a big truck to manoeuvre safely. A few years ago, we already had to rescue a concrete truck stuck in the ditch along the driveway. It is why when Paul called me 2 days before the removal, I reminded him how it was at our place which surprisingly he was not aware of! However, on the 7th, Conroy sent a big truck, undoubtedly considering that we, owners of the place, were not wise enough to assess the difficulty of the site.As it was predictable the truck stayed stuck in the slope, not being able to go backwards. The 2 workers did their best to get out of this situation. It lasted nearly 2 hours, meaning that they did not start to do the work you (and we) payed them for before.No point to tell me that I did not pay for this waste of time, I am fully aware that these miscalculations are already included in the price! and I should notice as well that the 56m3 that our stuff were supposed to take up ended up in a 48 m3 storage! When I called Paul to let him know what was going on, he just apologised but did not communicate at all after that to say what was the plan to help the guys, did not ask if some damages had been done to the driveway and the garden, which is the case. I have a few pictures of the marks left on the concrete and the lawn underneath. I said to Nathan that we would consider to use your company for the rest of our move (from Gisborne to Blenheim) only if things were going smoothly. Unfortunately we were not impressed by Conroy professionalism. Regards, Sara

"Aside from my missing box, the service was good"
I found a lot of the plastic containers I used to pack my PE's in were smashed to pieces. I would suggest you recommend to your future clients not to use them. Also, one box was missing altogether - it had my small HD tv/dvd player in it. Every other box was accounted for eventually. Unfortunately, Conroy's staff did not wait around for me to tick of my boxes against what Conroy's packed in Australia. Aside from my missing box, the service was good and I would be happy to use Conroy Removals again.
"the core of the service we received was high"
We have used Conroy to pack and move us on several previous occasions. Until this final move we had been very satisfied customers. This time, several things happened to make the move more stressful than it needed to be.
Firstly, right from the first e-mail contact, we had set the date the move was to take place. It was disconcerting to be told on our final contact that Conroys could not move us on the 18th Dec and would not be available to do so until after Christmas. Given the new owners were taking possession on the 19th Dec and we were scheduled to leave the country on the 21st Dec. this was unacceptable. We appreciated the speedy effort made to correct this situation but...
Further to this, however, we had been assured the packing and moving could be completed withing the first day. The reality was only two men were sent to do the move. They worked very professionally and quickly throughout a long day. One of these men and a new man came back the second day and again worked hard throughout the day with no tea break or lunch break to get the move completed by 2:30 pm. The repurcusions of this were that my husband and I ended up being involved in the packing and moving when we had not intended this at all,. It also meant the cleaning lady we had hired to clean an empty house from head to toe at 9 a.m. on the 19th, had to work around furniture and moving objects and people to try to make the house presentable for the incoming owners. Neither she or I were happy with this.
Mick and Hux were just awesome. Pleasant, courteous and thoroughly professional. We want to acknowledge they did a great job on the ground. The organisation around the move appeared to us to be not as professional as we had experienced in the past, however.
We will use Conroys again because the core of the service we received was high but we would be very much less trusting about the administration of the move.

"left us with a bitter taste"
We have moved with Conroy before and have recommend them to others. This time however the wellington team service and manner left us with a bitter taste. The way they packed up our items and getting rather short with us. The last hours we watched in horror as our items where thrown into the truck. We are supprised the damgaed was not more. But it was not all the team that acted this was just the one. The others I think saved the day. The christchurch team on unpacking 10 out of 10 and on one of the hottest days ever in canterbury... The one thing that was not alright was the packing of the items. When it arrived it fell out the truck, the loacl team managed to save items so the damage was limited to one item. But the tv\Monitors\Computer equiment was not packed as instructed... no wrapping nothing. Also I caught the wellington team using my guitar amp as a foot stool. I would use conroys again and recommend them but with a caution.

we had several items that were damaged, and i realised that you expect some of this , but when you give the people a birdcage to transport you do not expect it to come back in a state that it can not be used or even fixed. i rang to tell the lady this and she said that the manager would ring me. this has not happened. i strongly feel that this container was repacked or contents moved in some way as things did not come off in the order that they went on.
the guys that moved us were great, and i watch their packing and they did really well, so not sure what happened in between times. the load when it came back was bery loosley packed and some items that had arrows pointing up were upside down.
The reason I would not recommend you is that your movers left a large garden seat, a large painting, my microwave, the toaster and three doormats behind. Also the person sent to do the packing didn't have time to complete the job. The also damaged my new neighbours letter box on the way out and didn't even bother to tell me. If I hadn't heard it I wouldn't have known about it.
Otherwise I found you service good.
NB they also left about 7 or 8 of your boxes in my house which I was unable to transport, so they are still there.
