"No care was taken at all"
I was extremely happy with the professionalism of your Tauranga staff during our move but extremely disappointed in the Wellington staff and their handling of our move. I would use Conroy's again if moving locally though. Our inventory was a complete shambles, numbers did not correspond with items for about 1/3 of our goods. Our NEW fridge is severely damaged due to negligence in how it was stored in the container. It was placed up against the side without even a blanket to protect it. The paint has rubbed off the fridge onto the side of your container. The other side of the fridge has dents in it and the front has a scratch in the stainless steel. Boxes clearly labeled fragile and top shelf only were placed on the bottom with heavy boxes on top. Several of our other items of furniture have damage too! No care was taken at all. I haven't unpacked all our boxes yet to see if anything has been broken, so far so good. Again, I highly recommend your Tauranga staff and would use them again.
"so much damage was done to the furniture"
While we thought the staff doing the removal was very friendly, we are at a loss to understand how so much damage was done to the furniture, and wonder if any of the 'blankets' were used. Very disappointed with the number of dings and bumps done. We elected to carry our own insurance, so suppose we should not complain, but had had high recommendations to use Conroys and would not do so again
"some items were damaged"
The pre-communication and organisation in our move from Kapiti Coast to Tauranga with Conroy was excellent. The movers arrived at the time stated and delivered at time stated. However, when the goods arrived at the new destination some items were damaged. We were told by the Tauranga branch who received the container, that this was due to inappropriate loading at the Kapiti end. One was a bed end, the leg of which is broken, rendering it completely unusable now. Also glass has been broken in well wrapped pictures which will also need replacing. Regardless of whether a customer packs some or all of their own items, you really want to feel that there is care and caution being taken with those items not only in transit but in regard to the loading of those items. This was not the case on this occasion.
"Great removal process"
Great removal process. Organising quote with tauranga was a bit of a mission (multiple phone calls from different people about same information, 1st arranged day for quote didn't show up)
"Mixed experience"
Mixed experience.
Brisbane branch fantastic. Really helpful and going the extra mile with secure packaging. Offered great advice. Quote spot on with no hidden costs. Trip to NZ fast. Smooth through customs. No damage. Packed brilliantly. Exceeded expectations until delivery from Christchurch to Nelson. Rubbish communication from Christchurch branch. Very very slow Christchurch branch 20+ days to get from Christchurch to Nelson compared to less than a week from Brisbane to Christchurch. I rang multiple times to find out what was going on. Never once did Christchurch reply, only relayed messages through Palmerston North. Twice took time off work to meet delivery which did not turn up when arranged - no explanation why. Guys delivering bullied my wife to sign a form saying boxes arrived in good order without allowing her time to check. Completely unacceptable behaviour.
However, what really counts is that the boxes were delivered in perfect condition for arranged price and within overall quoted timeframe. Will use again and would recommend.
"communication with some of the office staff and with the dispatch was quite poor"
The communication with some of the office staff and with the dispatch was quite poor. It was hard to get a delivery date committed and then the truck did not turn up without information. But the team who delivered my stuff was very friendly and careful.
"fast efficient and cheerful"
It took a long time from docking to delivery but the delivery guys were fantastic - it was a tricky hard address and they were fast efficient and cheerful.
"too much of a hurry"
Staff were nice and friendly.
As we have discovered with all moving companies that we have used, the guys are in too much of a hurry and don't care too much for your belongings or for the property that you are living in. The guys managed to damage door frames (which needed sanding and repainting so we didn't lose any of our bond money) and mark walls. They thought it was a bit of a joke that people complain to them about touching the new paintwork in a new house...perhaps they should think about how hard people have worked to get a nice new house, why should it be wrecked by someone who doesn't give a toss. We have scuff marks down our new walls and we only let them bring 2 couches and 2 mattresses into the house!!
"Excellent company communication"
Actual movers excellent. Packers poor, missed goods, packed kitchen goods poorly resulting in spillages, lacked common sense.
Excellent company communication.
"Most things were good but"
Most things were good but;
1. The packers needed to communicate/check more so things to be left weren't packed . There was no problem correcting this, though.
2. I did not like having to prepay. This meant you didn't trust me but I had to trust you. You should perhaps ask for a substantial deposit, up to half the quote.
3. Your charges for insurance are ridiculously high.
4. Two casserole dishes were broken through faulty packing. Three weeks later we have heard nothing from you on this matter.
"Our experience with Conroys was mixed"
Our experience with Conroys was mixed. One of the two guys was quite simply a misery guts. I can't say I've ever come across someone that is so miserable on the job. He struggled to say even the most simplest of greetings and ignored anything and everyone to the point of rudeness. Clearly he does not like his job and frankly, as a client, I'd prefer he got another one. He couldn't have moved at a slower pace and I felt sorry for his partner. Once the truck was loaded up and we were half way to the new house we realised they had left behind the washing machine and dryer. It appeared to come as a surprise to Chris and certainly didn't add to his mood. Last item to be put into the new house was a substantial sized counch. To which he very readily decided they couldn't do it without more men, next weekend. My husband thankfully disagreed and with door removed and feet off the couch, they managed to get it in. All in all he was seemingly very unwilling from the time he arrived. Very dissapointing. I guess repeat business in this game doen't matter all that much as people tend to stay put for a while. But frankly, so long as I might run the risk of having him move me again, I won't be using Conroy.
The team in Hamilton were great and just got on with things. We were a little dissapointed when the items arrived and the desks weren't put back together, but this is going to be rectified and someone is planning on coming back to build the desks for us.
