The key area you guys have to improve is communication on pick up and delivery. You dont call until an hour or so before pick up and that means you hang around waiting. A simple cal the day before would improve things a lot

While the staff were friendly and careful moving our possessions to and from the truck (Ben, Darcy, and the younger man in Dannevirke) the persons who packed in Tuakau, and unpacked in Dannevirke were not so careful, scratching the drier, crushing and dropping a number of boxes and items of furniture and showing little understanding of relative weights and strength stacking heavy objects and furniture on top of boxes labelled crockery and linen. Breakages were limited to a picture frame and a side plate, for which we are grateful as we are for the arrival of all our stuff.
"Overall it was a pleasant experience"
Overall it was a pleasant experience and great people to deal with. They were receptive to my needs and very helpful. The only downside was the moving guys were rough - I had my expensive hi-fi gear bubble wrapped and packed inside a roadcase. So long as it was transported right way up it would be fine and I made sure to explain this to the driver. To my dismay, when I arrived at destination I found they had stacked the roadcase on it's end causing all the contents to shift so all the weight went against the most delicate parts of the hi-fi equipment. Most of it was ok except one (expensive) amplifier which is now in the repair shop.
"communications improved"
Although goods recieved, after initial agreement to proceed and full payment for service, I had NO communications from Conroy's, not a receipt for payment, nor any information on shipping. I had to chase up to find goods going nowhere at that time (1 month). After I questioned the proffessionalism of the company, communications improved.
"some issues around the timing"

We had some issues around the timing, We recieved 3 different times from the NI office. By 11am I was starting to worry and needed confirmation that the shift would happen or did I need to look elsewhere as we had to go that day.
Also would have been nice if someone had looked at the access as it was difficult, It all worked out tho.

"I felt the move was expensive"
Lionel and his helpers were all polite and helpful.
I would continue to shop around rather than automatically use Conroys again. I felt the move was expensive, expecially as I had only 20 cu m, not the 23 that was estimated and unloading took less than 2 hours. If it is possible, I would like a refund of some of the cost, as the amount was significantly less than estimated.
The king single bed and mattress were not wrapped in plastic.
The paperwork that Lionel showed me said I didn't have insurance, when in fact I had bought it from Conroys.
"carelessly loaded"
A piece of my furniture was damaged by the mover who carelessly loaded it onto the truck. I am now required to pay an excess on the damage caused, despite it being negligently done within 5 minutes of the mover handling my belongings. The move was undertaken by only one person, which required him to carry a queen size matress and base down three stories, as well as a heavy set of drawers - he requested my help to do this. It was not my understanding that I was to assist in the heavy lifting for the benefit of the company's wage costs. I do not ask client's at my business to assist me in the undertaking of my job description because I am understaffed, so I do not think it is satisfactory that the same is asked of me regarding heavy lifting. The communication from the administration team was swift and the movers (2 of them!) in Wellington were much more careful and respectful of my belongings. I would not recommend the company nor use it again given that my belongings were damaged and I was required to assist with the heavy uplift of the furniture.
"worked hard"
Your staff actually came to my place worked hard. Thank them. But when I signed contract the person from you company said that three people will come with a truck which has a lift on the back to move the piano. That is why the total price comes out. But at the shifting day 2 people came with a truck which had only a metal plate. So it was inefficient and took longer time.

Hi team, We may use you again as aspects of the move were very good - including the prompt and professional quotation and listing, timing of pick up and delivery, the care and time taken in wrapping everything and unpacking/unloading. However 5 plus boxes of ours got very wet (the ones near the front of the truck due to a leak) and a couple were quite crushed as a result. Fortunately nothing in the boxes were damaged. My road bike however was squashed and the front fork and breaks were badly damaged beyond repair meaning I need to purchase a new bike. Perhaps more care is needed with these delicate items. The truck was also a bit dirty on pick up and could have done with a clean. I have some photos that I can email you to illustrate. We didnt use your comprehensive insurance because it was about $100 more expensive than another quote. We now have to make a claim and pay the $250 excess for this one item. Perhaps this could also be more competitive.Thanks and I look forward to your reply.
"always impressed with conroy"
the move was made easy, although some information was not passed on to the right people as i could not be at the house for delivery, my table was crushed and a join has been broken, this was recorded by the truck driver who delivered the load. they connected my washing machine which was fantastic as this is always an effort, they put things into the rooms which has made sorting out the house a lot quicker, always impressed with conroy, dispatch may need a some looking at cheers to the guys who do the moving for you they are great
Your team are really lovely people. Unfortunately you seem to have overbooked your ability to deliver in that short week . My son had a number of issues including inability to deliver on the arranged day when he ahd interviews the following day - it all got pretty messy. However the manager in Wellington was a very apologetic and helpful gentlement and cusomter recovery was great. Suggest you just check that the bookings match the ability to delvier at the end of the journey and if there is an issue, a text to alert the customer prior to, not after waiting all day for the no delivery would be most important .
