"I felt the move was expensive"
"carelessly loaded"
A piece of my furniture was damaged by the mover who carelessly loaded it onto the truck. I am now required to pay an excess on the damage caused, despite it being negligently done within 5 minutes of the mover handling my belongings. The move was undertaken by only one person, which required him to carry a queen size matress and base down three stories, as well as a heavy set of drawers - he requested my help to do this. It was not my understanding that I was to assist in the heavy lifting for the benefit of the company's wage costs. I do not ask client's at my business to assist me in the undertaking of my job description because I am understaffed, so I do not think it is satisfactory that the same is asked of me regarding heavy lifting. The communication from the administration team was swift and the movers (2 of them!) in Wellington were much more careful and respectful of my belongings. I would not recommend the company nor use it again given that my belongings were damaged and I was required to assist with the heavy uplift of the furniture.

Your staff actually came to my place worked hard. Thank them. But when I signed contract the person from you company said that three people will come with a truck which has a lift on the back to move the piano. That is why the total price comes out. But at the shifting day 2 people came with a truck which had only a metal plate. So it was inefficient and took longer time.

Hi team, We may use you again as aspects of the move were very good - including the prompt and professional quotation and listing, timing of pick up and delivery, the care and time taken in wrapping everything and unpacking/unloading. However 5 plus boxes of ours got very wet (the ones near the front of the truck due to a leak) and a couple were quite crushed as a result. Fortunately nothing in the boxes were damaged. My road bike however was squashed and the front fork and breaks were badly damaged beyond repair meaning I need to purchase a new bike. Perhaps more care is needed with these delicate items. The truck was also a bit dirty on pick up and could have done with a clean. I have some photos that I can email you to illustrate. We didnt use your comprehensive insurance because it was about $100 more expensive than another quote. We now have to make a claim and pay the $250 excess for this one item. Perhaps this could also be more competitive.Thanks and I look forward to your reply.
"always impressed with conroy"
the move was made easy, although some information was not passed on to the right people as i could not be at the house for delivery, my table was crushed and a join has been broken, this was recorded by the truck driver who delivered the load. they connected my washing machine which was fantastic as this is always an effort, they put things into the rooms which has made sorting out the house a lot quicker, always impressed with conroy, dispatch may need a some looking at cheers to the guys who do the moving for you they are great
"Otherwise I found you service good"
The reason I would not recommend you is that your movers left a large garden seat, a large painting, my microwave, the toaster and three doormats behind. Also the person sent to do the packing didn't have time to complete the job. The also damaged my new neighbours letter box on the way out and didn't even bother to tell me. If I hadn't heard it I wouldn't have known about it.
Otherwise I found you service good.
NB they also left about 7 or 8 of your boxes in my house which I was unable to transport, so they are still there.

Collection and delivery staff were excellent. Booking and pricing was overly complicated and expensive.
"The move went OK"
The move went OK. Your AKL and WLG teams were good. Unfortunately there has been damage to our stainless steel fridge door (dented) and side (gouged and dented) as the fridge was not bubble wrapped although it was blanketed but that was not enough protection. Can an insurance claim be made about repairing such damage? I have photos available taken at the time the damage was spotted while it was being moved out of the container. Your WLG crew thought it was very bad and advised me to complain and make an insurance claim as they would not have found it acceptable if it was their own gear. Please advise soonest.

"Extremely expensive"
Extremely expensive. Was told it was high because would need van to take everything up the step drive but as someone forgot to book me in I got a small truck and 3 guys who got there at 3.30 pm and had finnished in under 2 hours. $1300 for removal and one months storage is huge. Lovely guys and lady on the phone who were very sorry and apologetic. Just the cost really. Feel ripped off.

"Unfortunately we were not impressed by Conroy professionalism"
On the 7th, Conroy removal moved our furniture and boxes from our previous house 2 km away from Gisborne township to a storage in Makaraka.
A few months ago, Nathan came to our place to calculate the volume of the house content and had obviously the opportunity to assess the steepness of the driveway and the accessibility of the house site which I am sorry to say he did not properly. Every tradesman who came to our place unanimously said it was not possible to allow a big truck to manoeuvre safely. A few years ago, we already had to rescue a concrete truck stuck in the ditch along the driveway. It is why when Paul called me 2 days before the removal, I reminded him how it was at our place which surprisingly he was not aware of! However, on the 7th, Conroy sent a big truck, undoubtedly considering that we, owners of the place, were not wise enough to assess the difficulty of the site.As it was predictable the truck stayed stuck in the slope, not being able to go backwards. The 2 workers did their best to get out of this situation. It lasted nearly 2 hours, meaning that they did not start to do the work you (and we) payed them for before.No point to tell me that I did not pay for this waste of time, I am fully aware that these miscalculations are already included in the price! and I should notice as well that the 56m3 that our stuff were supposed to take up ended up in a 48 m3 storage! When I called Paul to let him know what was going on, he just apologised but did not communicate at all after that to say what was the plan to help the guys, did not ask if some damages had been done to the driveway and the garden, which is the case. I have a few pictures of the marks left on the concrete and the lawn underneath. I said to Nathan that we would consider to use your company for the rest of our move (from Gisborne to Blenheim) only if things were going smoothly. Unfortunately we were not impressed by Conroy professionalism. Regards, Sara
Lionel and his helpers were all polite and helpful.
I would continue to shop around rather than automatically use Conroys again. I felt the move was expensive, expecially as I had only 20 cu m, not the 23 that was estimated and unloading took less than 2 hours. If it is possible, I would like a refund of some of the cost, as the amount was significantly less than estimated.
The king single bed and mattress were not wrapped in plastic.
The paperwork that Lionel showed me said I didn't have insurance, when in fact I had bought it from Conroys.
