Great Crew
Despite many cautions to treat our furniture carefully the guys still marked a couple of pieces; small dents in our hutch dresser bench top and dirty marks on all four white sofa cushions. (These were not bagged!)
Overall the crew were great, worked well and got the job done promptly.
I Would Use Conroy's Again
The pick up of my items was fine. It took less than an hour and the movers arrived on time, which is great.
One thing that you could do to improve is communication. I mentioned that I would like my stuff to arrive on the 29th of September, however I had not received any sort of communication on any delays. I understand that this would take 7-14 days for this to arrive, but if I had requested a date for my things to arrive and if there are any delays, I would have expected a phone call or email regarding of the delay, which I would have been happy with. I did call up a couple of times to get updates though, and the staff were professional and friendly.
One other thing was when my items arrived in Christchurch and started unpacking. There were a few scuff marks on some of the items - e.g. one of the TV's, the mattress base, one of the screws had fallen off the desk, and the record player had its hinge broken (which that particular item was packed in a box by the movers). It wasn't broken completely, but a little more care needed would be required when it came to moving things. No major damage occured, but just a little disappointing that there was some slight damage to my items.
Yes I would use Conroy's again if I was moving inter-island or overseas in the future.

Good Overall Experience
Overall experience was good. Opas teams arrived on time, were friendly and communicated their arrival time. Handling of our items during the load removal was a bit rough. Communication between the ops team and booking team could be improved.

The removal was fine but the delivery was poor. I specifically called Nathan to check the steepness of the driveway at our new house and he said it would be fine. However, it was not. The removers had to move all our belongings from the original truck to a much small truck. This of course meant the delivery took a lot longer. It also meant that items we had asked to have put on last so they were off first didn't work.I had to speak to the removers about their dirty hands. They offloaded outdoor items and then our indoor soft furnishings and got dirty handmarks on the fabrics.

The team in Napier were amazing! Big thank you to Garry and Nicole who took care of us and our consignment.
Unfortunately it looks like that's where the care stopped as we had a number of boxes damaged/split open, two of our fragile boxes were squashed with significant damage/breakages. One of the fragile boxes even had a hole punched in it as well. A shame the care that Garry showed our consignment was not the same standard as everyone else once it left Napier.

I was originally told the job would require three men and a large truck to move my house contents. Unfortunately on the day only two men were assigned. I did feel sorry for them as I had a lot of heavy items, one of which was a round concrete top outdoor table. This table top was damaged from the move, which I believe it was because it needed three people to securely move it. I am waiting for the company to contact me regarding the repair of it. The two gentlemen who did the job were very pleasant and helpful. It's a shame they didn't have that extra staff member to assist them with this job.

Would have liked to know more in advance, even the week before, what time the truck was turning up. The day before isn't very helpful when there is so much going on. But everything was moved successfully - in between the rain, Thank you.

The people delivering my property clearly had difficulty understanding where the boxes needed to be placed in the house. Some bedding was put in the garage, garage stuff in the kitchen, and kitchen stuff in the bedrooms. Perhaps they couldn't read, or possibly as many boxes were reused and the writing was all in black and not another colour they were confused. Several items were damaged. This was the 3rd time in 25 years that I have used Conroys, it will be the last time.
The ball was dropped on multuple levels
1. Was to be contacted according to communicatuon 2 days before didnt happen till day before.
2. Service was paid for 4 days before yet following day received a reminder payment was required.
3. Rang a number of times just got answer phone
4. Rang operation day before moving day. Had arranged with sales rep 12.oopm pick up and holding overnight till settlement the next day but this was not connunicated abd operarions wanted to pick up at 8.00am Received a call from operarion on Thurs 15th Jan they were short staffed and would be arriving more 1 to 1 30pm not 12 00pm actually arrival time was 2 .45 pm. I left clear instructions twice they had to back up the driveway this was not relayed to the driver Dave.
5 The loading crew Dave, Paul and Jet were pleasent and very careful with loading, but very slow. 3.00pm till 7 45pm obviously end job of a long day. I stress they were extremely careful of moving property out and in to new premises. So happy with the loading and unloading.
