It's been over 3 months and still without apparent delivery time, but thought to be a minimum of another month...or so. I am left with a feeling of extortion.
Our pick up had not been scheduled and was rushed, sloppy and unpleasant as a result. The moving crew arrived 5 hours late, tired and fully unprepared for the scale of our move. While I believe this is a result of poor management and scheduling, it was not cool to have our movers come in very late and immediately begin complaining about the volume of our belongings, having too much to do, and accusing us of doing "a bad job packing". This was neither fair nor accurate. Instructions were not followed, a number of items not intended to be moved were moved, others that should have been were not. Over the 4 days Conroy had our possessions before delivery, they changed the agreed storage and delivery plans without communication. I was told they would be delivered out of Auckland, and when I called Auckland operators to confirm I was told my belongings were in Napier and scheduled to be delivered at a later time than expected. They arrived even later than that. Upon unpacking we've discovered items missing, things that should have been moved together like the legs and brackets of a desk were clearly thrown in the truck at random and there are bits missing as a result. While we accept the owner moves at their own risk, we do not accept the level of carelessness and poor communication that lead to these issues.
Moving with Conroy significantly added to the stress of relocating and for the price of the move and the scale of the brand I would have expected much better.
Cowboys, dropped our dryer because the delivery guys did not follow basic health and safety by putting mats down on a wet tile floor when offloading in heavy rain. One of the guys slipped, and broke our dryer. Put in a claim for this but was told it was an accident and Conroys will not accept liability. Did not even get an apology.
Boxes were packed comically bad, there were no boxes for hanging clothes items, instead they were just dumped into boxes resulting in everything needing to be re-washed/ironed after delivery. Boxes badly labeled etc ..
Glad its over, will never recommend you guys to anybody.
Very disappointed on a number of levels ;
Boxes were largely not labelled so the crew at Christchurch (nor us) had a clear idea which rooms to unload to, seemingly an easy fix for Conroys to make
This cost us many hours of checking where things needed to be placed when we ourselves unpacked
Significant damage to Mitsubishi Fridge/Freezer (even though wrapped in bubble wrap) it seems to have been significantly knocked on side of container
Damage to one bedside cabinet (one of a pair) which appears to have been dropped onto one front corner, not able to repair, if replacing will have to purchase matching pair
Damage to wooden headboard of bed which was almost new and had never been used and will be very hard to replace or repair
Other items scratched/damaged in transit (too many to list) due to insufficient packaging and/or less than careful packing
I don't have my mattress or my washing machine. I've lost couple of boxes.
I am furious. I had my possessions moved from Auckland to Port Chalmers in Dunedin. The pick up at Auckland was fantastic. Nice guys, good job as they loaded my things into a container truck. Was to be delivered to my sisters in Dunedin and I was always following a few weeks later as had to see out my tenancy. Have arrived to find many of my things damaged, broken or missing. I understand it arrived in a different truck from up north so must have been transferred from container. My beautiful bicycle that l was counting on using daily had had the wheels taken off and the forks twisted right angle from the handle bars. I have been given someone elses wheels which don't fit my bike so someone else will be unhappy too. My hand carved barstool l have had for 20 years has vanished and furniture items have had parts broken off obviously from rough treatment. There was a large hole in a box clearly marked fragile china and many others showed signs of lack of care and respect. What's more l can't seem to contact them on phone number on docket to try and trace and swap my wheels and find my stool. This was a major life event for me . I'm not wealthy and borrowed money to move and am highly disappointed with the South Island leg of my removal experience. I can't believe someone has thought it ok to dismantle my bicycle and mix up parts with someone else's. I paid good money and expected a professional service. That is not what l got.
We had the most horrendous experience with Conroy and would definitely NOT recommend them. The team was told to use two men to pick up our dining table, one man decided to pick it up and put it on is shoulder but, the table then fell to pieces as it was fragile, like previously mentioned. When our stuff arrived it was wet due to a leak in the truck. Next we had issues with the claims team where we were mucked around and not treated with respect. Your team showed no respect or concern for our claim. We paid over $7000 for your services and we did not receive $7000 worth of service!!
I would have rated you high until we found that the coffee table base was missing . I have on a number of times contacted both Auckland and Wellington both by phone and email with no call back or response except once but no reply from sending the photos of the coffee table base .This has gone on since the 2 nd week of May over a month ago . I will say prior to this the staff were very helpful and the actual pick up and delivery went smoothly . It seems that once delivered is done no one wants to be accountable for missing goods . We only received the glass top
As a 75-yr-old widow I found your telephone and internet communication unhelpful. Three of the men doing the handling were exceptionally friendly and helpful, but one didn't load the dining table properly and it was damaged. Your insurance company was unco-operative to deal with and I paid to repair the table myself. Overall a very stressful experience.
I would actively steer people away from using Conroy. No one ever answers their phone, the movers didn't pack everything on the first trip and had to go back for what they left behind, and I've been waiting over two weeks for my items to be delivered to my unit now (they've arrived in Wellington but still haven't arranged a drop-off time). Absolutely poor service all round especially considering the price.
Don't promise, if you can't deliver! Furniture picked up January, now mid June, furniture nowhere to be seen. The service has been shocking from start until -------whenever!
Conroy's NZ and Conroy's Brisbane don't communicate. If you are making a new home in Australia, get rid of everything before flying over, buy when you get here.
If it wasn't for Christine, I don't think this move would have gone ahead as we had no communication at all from the person allocated to our move. Monday morning of the move and we still had no idea what was going on. In the end a sub contractor moved us on the instructions from Conroy.
