Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersWe are incredibly disappointed with the service we received from Conroys. We got 10 quotes prior to moving and choose the second most expensive, that being Conroy's. This was based on a promise of excellent packing and transport. However, while the smaller items were wrapped and packed into boxes with care, the rest of the service was abysmal. Our mid-century coffee table and wall unit were badly chipped, while our dining table and a bookcase were very badly scratched on the top surface.
Also boxes labelled as fragile and top stow only were obviously crushed. This resulted in the shattering of several irreplaceable items from an inherited dinner set, plus a bedside lamp being crushed so badly it snapped in two. We have not even finished un packing yet! We are disheartened!
Also a large chunk of plaster was knocked off the corner of a red wall at eye-level in our new house. This exposed the white plaster so is glaringly obvious.
Lastly, we took photos and texted the local manager at the time and he did not even have the courtesy to respond.
..I am so disappointed...the loading in Clive was great. You told me the truck will be in the depot over the weekend( 27.01.23 - 30.01.23 ) and will leave on Monday, 30.01.23 down to the south island to Darfield. The dlivery would be on Tuesday,31.01.23 around midday- so far so good.
The unloading was great again, really good working people. after unpacking our stuff we had to realize that some cartons and at least 2 of our very special aluminium boxes were missing. These alu boxes were made in Germany and they are pretty rare here in new zealand, so you would recognize them at once. Unfortunately in these boxes were some china which comes in a set(pretty old, from my grandma and from germany aswell - beloved inheritance) some old special wine glasses, called "Roemer" also. On the way down to Darfield I don`t think the theft was happening. I think it happened over the weekend in the depot. Some of the staff was really kean on these boxes - but I don`t wnt to blame someone. The insurance support was rediculess. So I am a very unhappy person at the moment. Regards Sylvia Kuhlmann

Did not get on the ship on time.
Delays in releasing container in Sydney
Lack of care
Were told it would be a morning pickup, then told they only do afternoon pickups. Had to change flights at our expense. Were told it would be 8am delivery, but only dropped off at 3.30pm.
Still waiting for empty packaging cartons to be picked up (one week after delivery) and no one will give me a timeline of when that is happening, yet I am already being asked for a review..
2 hours prior to expecting our house contents we were advised it would be delayed to a later day to be determined. As we had expected to be able to move into our new house on the scheduled day we had to arrange what turned out to 3 further nights accommodation. 3 large items were finally delivered 2 weeks later. The impact of the delays was significant on us. Our request to Conroys for compensation has been seemingly ignored despite a reminder. Other aspects of our Conroys experience were OK but vastly overshadowed by the delivery failure.
Terrible company. Our furniture wasn't treated well. The container was too small for a 4 bedroom, 2 lounge house. There was only 2 pieces of furniture that didn't have any damage/marks on it. I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
when our good finally arrived, our 3 seater italian leather lounge suite and also 1 of the 2 recliners are missing / assumed stolen?? These are the most expensive items that we have paid to be shipped from NZ. I have emailed Conroys and the Neatherlands forwarder 4 days ago and no response. Not happy.
Still waiting on gear to arrive Bull sh_t
I dealt with both Nelson and Christchurch branches, both were a nightmare to deal with. There was no communication as to when my things would be dropped off or picked up until I called myself. When I did call, staff either had no idea what was going on or were very rude over the phone. The whole process seemed extremely unorganised.
Despite initial communications were quick, helpful and smooth, when belongings were uplifted from our storage unit, the inventory done by the drivers didn't match the one we presented. When questioned with pictures that proved all the boxes were in the storage unit and the drivers took them all (as pics provided by the storage facility), we have been told 2 boxes were down packed (?). Shipment was quick, storage in Australia was handled smoothly and delivered fast. But surprise (not surprising) the box that wasn't mentioned in the inventory was not there and neither its content. Nothing extremely money valuable but couldn't make an insurance claim for it since it 'never left NZ'. It's such a shame because if whoever is responsible for the missing box didn't have the brilliant idea of 'down packing' it (aka stealing?!) my review would have been completely the opposite and I would recommend the service to others. I mean, go ahead but don't expect to receive everything you send. That at the end of the day, after $2k spent with professionals is the bare minimum of what you would expect.
