When it came to delivery in Chch it was abysmal,it was a breezy day and they didn't tie back the truck door resulting in an extremely precious piece of furniture being damaged and to add insult to injury the person who was pushing it out of the truck gave the furniture a brutal shove. It's an irreplaceable piece of furniture which was carefully wrapped in Nelson for us. Also I don't believe the chch crew have any sense,being a new build with a muddy drive area I would have put people inside with clean shoes and others ferrying the goods from the truck to them instead they trouped mud and dirt into the house.The nelson crew deserve 5 stars,but the chch delivery team ruined it for everyone.
My sofa gets damaged, when I ring conroy no response from them . Very poor service. Won't recommended.
No Communication
Upon booking, I was told I would be in touch with my Move Co-Ordinator to prepare the move - absolutely no communications from them in the lead-up to the move, no understanding around the timing of the day. I emailed them prior to the move day and all I got was a text message with a time, and that I couldn't reply to.
The movers moved the things and relocated to the new address - all went well apart from mild damage to some of the furniture due to not taking care of (scratches on wooden drawers, some boarding from drawers had been buckled out). Also, the movers made damage to the property's fence - I have emailed photos to Conroy's enquiries mailbox seeking remedial work.
Communication Poor
Items landed in Perth beginning of May. It is now mid June. I had to make contact to chase up what's happening. Communication poor
Time Wasted
Wasted lot of time and also few boxes are missing...
Not At All Impressed
Your company failed to supply professional qualified furniture removers. This is what we thought we were paying for. After telling your company not once but twice that strops would be needed for an extremely heavy china cabinet the message wasn't passed on. The cabinet was smashed by people that have never shifted furniture & didn't know what they were doing. Our front door was also gouged out & table has a ding in it. Not at all impressed by negligence & no care for our furniture.
Very Expensive, Very Poor Service
Very expensive, very poor service. Packers left items unpacked, movers left items behind, were careless with items being moved - an armchair has had its leg broken, a suitcase containing a large antique crystal vase is missing (alhough I haven`t unpacked all boxes yet I think it unlikely it would have been packed in a box when none of the other suitcases were). Movers were unable to disconnect washing machine and left it behind; this was eventually collected and moved several days later. I was not informed it was not their job to disconnect the washing machine or I would have done it myself, it wasn`t difficult.
I find it amusing, but not surprising that my phone autocorrects conroy to cowboy, it describes this company perfectly.
Damage
Damaged mattress that had not been wrapped as promised on the proposal - I was told this would be followed up but have not been contacted, scraping and damage to boxes and furniture, one missing box that I was told would be followed up the next day but despite me calling the depot twice I have not been contacted and have not received the missing box. I'd at least like the amount that I tipped the Auckland movers refunded to me!
Severe Damage
Medium to severe damage to a few furniture and missing bits. Delivery truck knocked over power box causing power cut to neighbours during first delivery but luckily Vector fixed it at no cost to us, Conroy did not even have the curtesy to reply despite emailing Conroy. Unfortunately we will never be a repeat customer :-)
Tool boxes were inverted and poorly packed.
We have moved international and national with Crown 4 times with absolutely no damages. We moved from Rolleston to Hamilton and have sustained multiple damages to 3 pieces of furniture, the dining table has damages to the table top because it was placed facing the container wall with one layer of moving blanket for protection, damages to the coffee table with multiple nicks to the legs and a storage unit that was wrapped in bubble wrap and literally fell apart as we removed the wrap. Linen was used as packing materials around kitchen crockery, multiple layers of paper was used to pack plastic containers which was wasteful and not necessary, this packing paper could have been used across the crockery not my linen. A priority box wasn't used, therefore we struggled to find all the bed legs and remotes etc as they weren't specifically itemised on the inventory list. The Auckland team unpacking us in Hamilton were great and commented on the really poor quality of packing when they found the furniture items damaged in the container. The overall communication needs to be improved, In Christchurch we received confirmation of packing/uplifting dates only to be told by the surveyor a week prior to packing it wouldn't be likely to the following month, however they did meet the packing date as confirmed. The communication in Auckland is good, however if settlement date is an important piece of information to have then the form should make that clear. Request Date does not mean the same as settlement date, when you haven't ever used Conroys the clients wont know that you dont unpack after midday if it conincides with settlement day. Other than that the Auckland team was great, the unpacking great were also great.
