"Wish I had spent the extra and gone with Crown"
Dreadful experience, large item missing, poor response from customer service, goods not unpacked and boxes and packaging not removed as per the contract. Wish I had spent the extra and gone with Crown.
"I am very dissapointed"
The service and staff at the Australian office were fantastic. The communication was consistent and the people who came to load and pack our belongings were efficient, polite and very reassuring. We watched them expertly pack the container. New Zealand was a different experience altogether. There was hardly any communication and I had to keep calling to find out when our belongings would be delivered. Even on the day of delivery I had to call to get a time, which ended up being about 5 hours late. When they arrived, two of the staff seemed less than impressed to be there. One, older man, was chatty, but they all seemed to not know what to do. OH&S practises were out the window. I watched them dropped boxes, bang into things. When they opened the truck, my heart sank. They had repacked it from the container, not taking into account anything that said fragile. Boxes looked like they had been thrown in the truck. Fragile underneath boxes of books, upside down boxes, very expensive fruniture all over the place. They brought it all inside and again placed boxes upsidedown. I have paid for an unpacking service of the things that were packed in Australia. This was a reluctant job for the staff. they seemed quite put out and infact only did the bare minimum. None of the pictures have been unpacked and now i will have to pay to remove the rubbish. they put a big dent in one of our bookcases, they didn't seem to know how to claim this on insurance. I too need to know how to claim on insurance as it has not been followed up by your Napier department even though I wrote it on all the paper work. It's a shame really. I chose Conroy based on the fantastic customer service in Australia, definatley not the price as it was quite a bit more than other quotes. I am very dissapointed.
"I would never use your company again"
I would never use your company again, this is my second time the first was flawless and the reason I booked you again but this time was rubbish I specifically asked to have my leather chairs to have covers on them what i ended up with is muddy footprints over them where they were being walked on without covers, on. the tops of all the bedroom drawers and bedside tables have large gouges and multiple deep scratches on all of them no care was taken whatsoever.I phoned the depot twice to find out what was happening to my furniture and when it would be delivered it took two weeks toget and no communication and to see how it was dumped in the storage unit was unbelievablle I had to cover the some items to stop further damage.Somebody was having a bad day but I payed for a good day
1 Star
My goods arrived in NZ October 27th, and it is the 23rd of November now, and I still don't have them. I heard that you are moving premisses in Christchurch, but that does not excuse this kind of delay.
I have not received promissed phonecalls and emails (I would phone in the morning, to enquire where my goods are, and the man in ChCh would say "I will investigate, and let you know today". No answer came. This happened 3 times, with two different people. Well, enough said. I hope I get my goods this week.
I said I will not use your services again. But probably I will, because my importer uses you.
I would like to hear what Conroy can do in terms of appeasement.
Thanks
"Very disappointing"
Very disappointing.
Communication was poor as Conroys never got permission from me for a removal time. I had wanted to be there so that everything was uplifted and I wanted advanced warning so that I could make the hour trip from town to oversee it. Conroys simply went and picked up the boxes and some furniture without my say so.
Of course in doing this they left off the biggest item on the quoted list...the bed. Insurance was acquired to cover the very expensive bed bought for a back injury, because I cannot afford to replace the bed if it was damaged in the move.
Effectively I paid an extortionate sum for insurance and a removal job that was incomplete.
After talking to the Christchurch branch manager - who was extremely unhelpful. Conroy's refused to rectify the problem. I used Conroys 4 years ago moving from the North Island to the South Island and I didn't have a problem. Maybe it's just the Christchurch branch that has issues. We will not be recommending or using Conroys again.
"will never use you again"
Feedback given to Branch Manager. Didnt get a call to say anything delivered, left garage open all night, and phoned sat 3 times to find out if delivered. Terrible service from day one calling customer service lady and worse service at the end, the only positive was the nice guy in Welly that rang to say it had arrived in town. will never use you again.
"Expected more for $3000"
The only great thing about this service is the removalists themselves (kiwi guy on the Melbourne end, and the English guy at Dunedin end) everyone behind the scenes is vague, rude, and not helpful in any way. Expected more for $3000
"my abysmal experience"
To recap on my abysmal experience at the hands of the amateur logistical efforts and unforgivable lack of communication by Adam Murdoch from Conroy Christchurch:
- 31/08/15 - Delivery arranged for 21st September.
- 17/09/15 - No further contact so follow up phone call made to Adam. Was informed the date appeared to have been changed to 22nd. Adam promised to follow up on Saturday morning (18th) and email confirmation of day so I could plan my movements accordingly. No email or other contact made.
- 21/09/15 - Phone call at 8pm from driver to inform delivery planned for late on 22nd.
- 22/09/15 - Delivery driver arrives with half of consignment. Says MPI items are not included.
- All client packed boxes have been consolidated into Conroy’s cartons. One box unaccounted for to date.
- 22/09/15 - Phone call to Adam who explains that the storage of the consignment had been split up and they hadn’t been able to locate the MPI items in time to include them on the truck. Informed Adam I was leaving the country for work the following day. Possibility of having someone else give access to the property if delivered before end of the week. Please explain given:
- Delivery arranged 3 weeks in advance.
- When this problem occurred (the previous day) no contact was made to inform me of the issue.
- No action was taken to arrange further delivery until I made contact.
- Agreement reached that Adam would make arrangements and contact me by COB with a plan for delivery before the end of week or ongoing storage at Conroy’s expense. No confirmation reached before COB. Agreed to email details as soon as confirmed. No email received, no further contact made.
- 25/09/15 - Phone call from driver at 03:40 AM Perth time waking me up to inform me of delivery in next two hours.
- Asked if I had a forklift available to unload the motorbike crates.??
- Had to make emergency arrangements to have delivery driver met at property.
- Details from my contact who met them at property:
- Only one motorcycle received!
- Motorcycle had to be unpackaged and manhandled out of truck due to no mechanical aids or truck hoist!
- Packaged in a manner that will almost certainly have damaged fork seals!
- Delivery driver and contact witnessed fuel leaking from overflow and found tank to be half full despite being completely empty on delivery to Conroy’s!! Why would there possibly be reason to put fuel in the bike?? (I am not near the bike at present, but will be carefully checking for signs of use since thorough pre-shipping clean).
- Where is my other bike?
I have since tried three times to call Conroy’s and not been able to reach anyone.
"this was the worst experience"
Poor communication, slow response, slighly arrogant, slow. Have moved my entire household contents many times and this was the worst experience.
"Thank you for your kindness"
Many thanks to you all for keeping me up to date and helpful advice. You took all the stress out of my big move overseas. Thank you for your kindness. Best wishes to you all. Margaret
"good job"
good job. well done.
thank you
The Team of three that did our actual move, were efficient and a pleasure to work with. They have however managed to misplace our modem which has caused some inconveniece.
The overall service from office staff was quick-response before the move, but very poor response time or no response at all after the move when we were trying to locate the modem and get left over packing removed from the driveway. I even had to chase up the receipt a week later. Unfortunately although it was emphasised that we had a very, very large 3 bedroom home plus a large amount of contents, this fact was obviously not considered as the removal truck sent was too small. Although the team packed the truck very efficiently it resulted in us having to hire a horse-float trailer for remainder of furniture and cage trailer for garden furniture, BBQ and shed items etc. We were forced to put our queen size mattress on the roof rack of our car to get it to the new address before we could sleep on move in day. The request and information given around our requirements where completely ignored resulting in a lot of extra work, stress and cost to ourselves. This was the third time we used your services but would not use them again.
