"given very short notice of delivery"
We were given very short notice of delivery, 50 minutes in the first instance which we couldn't make, which we re-scheduled for the following week. This was then changed by Conroys with 24 hours’ notice. This meant I had to change my work days and meetings twice in 5 days. We had paid for an unpacking service but because only one person was sent they did not have sufficient time to unpack anything except the three largest items. Although they were careful and experienced we didn't not feel happy that one person could handle our larger items safely which meant that my husband had to help move the larger items. Whilst the poor packing of our goods back in the UK was not Conroys fault, sending only one person probably also contributed to the damage some of our furniture received due to things being dragged rather than lifted. Then to top off a bad day the driver hit and broke two driveway light and a tree on his way out. Whilst Conroys plan to pay for fixing these, I now have to spend time finding and organising replacements. Not happy.
"still havent got my boxes"
At the time I received this feedback request, I still havent got my boxes. So you know why i wont recommend your service to others. The first contact Monica told me last week the delivery is booked on Tuesday, and she didnt reply my email afterwards. I called the auckland branch on Monday, after being trasferred to different persons three times, being told the delivery would be on Tuesday then being told by another person that should be on Wed. I didnt receive any call on the next day so I called again and was told that the paperwork has not been done and they cant do anything. They just ask me to wait for the call, which hasnt come until now. I would say there is no customer service at all, and i dont feel like being treated as a customer once i paid the full amount and have the boxes collected.
"Very disappointed"
They arrived on time which was great. Two guys, 1 really didn't talk which was fine and the other guy exited the truck to tell us all that it was his birthday last night and had only got 2 hours sleep. Subsequently, we found him literally sitting down in the truck, sitting down on our lounge suite. We found his lime green Primo bottle left all over the house as he moved around.
We were moving from Pyes Pa to the The Lakes so a short distance move. We had 3 queen beds, 4 bedside cabinets, 1 lounge suite and 2 coffee tables, 1x 50" TV, a fridge and a small chest freezer, an outdoor table & 6 aluminium chairs, some pots and an outdoor umbrella, that was all we had to shift. Very slow move to say the least, we were very organised and had literally shifted everything else the day before except the furniture. We ended up dragging our beds out to the truck to try and hurry them up. We bought around all our outdoor furniture (not the pots) to the truck as well. Anything we could carry we took out to the truck , we ended up literally standing around waiting for them. I have used Conroy Removals 3 times now. Our last two shifts were fine, but after this shift we would not use Conroy again.
When it came to payment, the young fella wanted to charge us $550. I told him that was not right and he worked it out again with my assistance (I think it might be an idea for the guys to carry a calculator with them). The final price was $487.50 and I was quickly told that they don't carry any change so I had to pay them $500. Surely if paying by cash is an accepted payment form then they should carry some petty cash. I thanked the guys and waved them goodbye with some relief I must admit. What should have been a very quick and easy move was drawn out and not very well done at all.
Very disappointed with a company that I have used and trusted before.
"poor handling"
We were lied to several times about a range of things including the insurance, pick up and delivery times. The wrapping of our belongings was poor, a lot of our things got damaged by the poor handling. Our stuff had to go into storage because we didn't have a house to move to straight away and upon delivery of our things to the storage unit, extremely late which meant I was there until 7.30pm!, we phoned you the next day to find out how long we had to check everything for insurance we were told we had until we found a house. We couldn't check everything on the day of the delivery because the storage unit closed at 8pm and the way in which our stuff was just thrown in by your delivery guys. We finally found a house and upon unwrapping everything we discovered a lot of damage. We took photos of everything that was damaged as soon as we unwrapped it and now we have been told that we are not covered! We payed a lot of money for this move and to be told that the insurance won't cover us now is extremely disappointing to say the least. I will do everything I can to ensure that nobody I know ever chooses you for their move. Thank you for nothing!

Pickup was confirmed with despatch by Roadshow the day prior for 8:30am. The truck arrived at 11:30am. Our clients teams were onsite at the pickup and delivery address from 8:30am to support the move. The pickup address was not informed of any delay nor was Roadshow. We contacted dispatch and were given a new ETA, but no reason for the delay. Our client was most unhappy given the cost of the move for a 10 minute relocation of two triangle cabinets.

Everything had gone smoothly until delivery day - our family has been living in a hotel for 5 weeks whilst buying a home, the move in day arrived and we made arrangements for our household delivery for 8.30 on Tues morning. The 1st container load arrived and was unloaded by 11am, the driver said he wouldn't be long and went back to get the 2nd container - two workers from Conroy and myself waited for 2 hours, then i phoned Wgtn despatch and was told that driver was sent to another job in between ours and he would be there in 20 minutes. I then phoned Fiona in Hawkes Bay to complain - we waited until 3.20 before the second container arrived - 4 hours and 20 minutes after our driver had left. This meant we didn't have our house in a fit state to sleep in that night and had to spend another night in a hotel - a cost to our family. This put huge stress on an already stressful situation because the Wellington despatch manager could not have cared less, we have two small kids and we sat there twiddling our thumbs for 4 hours 20minutes, Not happy and will not be using this company again.
"total joke"
I certainly would never ever use your company again, it was a total joke! A very expensive one at that! The removers decided ON THE DAY that they didn't have enough room to take all my stuff, I had to leave over a $1000 worth of my belongings which I have no way of recovering!!! I am more than disappointed with your service, and would appreciate a phone call to discuss the apalling service I was given!
"careless"
The moving crew were all very friendly but were careless at both ends of my move. I have a very chunky solid style of rimu table and leaving Auckland the movers had admitted to their company they dropped it smashing off the entire side of 2 legs but never told me so I only just discovered it in christchurch during unpacking after having my belonging stored with conroys for some time. I would particularly never use conroys again to move my baby grand piano. I paid for the full international wrapping to protect it but during unpacking there was not enough man power sent to lift it and it was dropped smashing the the top of the lid badly not to mention it's never a good thing to drop a piano as it interferes badly with its tuning. My piano had belonged to my sister and unfortunately it was dropped on the 20yr anniversary of her death which my elderly mother in particular was very upset about. There were a couple other smaller items that were also damaged however I do accept that sometimes there is a couple of things that sometimes don't make it as moving is a difficult thing but I didn't expect so much carnage. Lastly I had a really good upright Dyson vacuum cleaner which has completely gone missing??? Unfortunately this probably means that a staff member at some point of the transit has stolen it. This to me is actually worse than the damage to my furniture as it costs alot of money to move and you have trust that your belongings are safe. I have used and recommend conroys a number of times before. Conroys in Blenheim were excellent when I moved my piano around several times locally. I recommended my elderly parents use them to move from Picton to Christchurch and they damaged a number of their antique furniture through carelessness also. The man at the office in Christchurch was very kind when I spoke to him about what happened but im still waiting to hear back from him. Let's hope that Conroys can work through these issues quickly as the last thing anyone needs after moving is more stress

Staff for collection arrived with no understanding of scope of work; no labels and did not prepare an inventroy.

Was never advised goods would be packed 3 times
Part of workbench was delivered damaged to job is still no complete and other items have been damaged or mislaid - noone can advise location.
Can also see on Meile Washer/Dryer that a cap has been removed from a transit bar and transit bar was partly withdrawn - this may have damaged Washer/Dryer which will only be known once installed.
Despite notations on delivery documents, received no contact from Conroy re missing/damaged items on Friday Aug 5 and have made several phone calls Aug 8 and cannot make contact.
Overall communication was poor to non-existant - from trying to obtain quote with correct inclusions; advise re collection and delivery timing; no communication re delay of shipment; items were dmaged and others mislaid - received no contact from Conroy despite notes on delivery docs and was unable to contact despite several attempts Aug 8.
I still need the missing items and all the damged items to be repaired urgently.

"Terrible service received"
Terrible service received. Our furniture was not packed professionally and got damaged/broken while in transit. The packers did not bring any tools along with them and used the car key as a screwdriver. Our big bedroom mirror has not arrived and still waiting for it to be delivered.
Conroys were late picking up my goods and consequently I missed the ferry. They were also late dropping g off my goods. I was inconvenienced as when I tried to find out when they were turning up on both occasions I couldn't get a clear answer. Their time frames and customer communication need looking at.
