Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersWe were quite disapointed with the service provided, which was unexpected as we have used Conroys in the past and have always been very happy with the results, but on this occasion we had a lot of problems - as folllows:
Our personal belongings were damaged (see below) as a result of the movers not folllowing the proper process not by accidental damage (there were a few minor accidental damages that are not worth mentioning here). 3 movers arrived, 1 was good, 1 was a bit careless and unprofessional and 1 seemed to have low motiviation and spent a lot of time watching the other 2 working.
1. Our fridge now has a large dent in the front of it and the upright freezer a scratch on the front.
2. Our near new couch has a big black oil mark in the shape of a smile on it, it was not wrapped and was dragged accross something dirty.
3. Couches and mattresses were not wrapped as Conroys has always previously done when moving our stuff, this time nothing was wrapped.
4. Our tile floor at the entrace to our home has been marked in multiple places by a piano being dragged accross it.when it would not fit through a doorway and needed to be taken through an easier route which should have been the route used in the first instance.
We would be more than happy to show Conroy's the damage caused and would welcome your help to make this right.

The level of customer service was very poor. They broke one of my items and blamed it on me because I packed it myself. I will never use Conroys again and definitely will not recommend it to anyone I know.
The service would best be described as poor. The movement support person who I called 2-3 times was condescended when i could get hold of her. My mover timing was scheduled based on you maximising your containers. My needs were not considered at all. The guys that came to get my stuff mucked about for 2 hours which meant that i reached my first stop at night which is not something I would have signed up to. When my stuff was to be delivered I was told it would be 5pm. Then I complained so the poor guys parked in my driveway, at 1pm, off loaded other people's stuff in my driveway in the rain and moved my stuff into the house. It was dirty, scratched and generally a mess. I was told to sign forms. I had no idea if I had everything but was just glad to have the big ticket items. All a bloody mess frankly
Absolute chaos. The truck uplifters were great, prompt and efficient, however the packers did not arrive to finish the packing. Nobody in office would answer their phones or would return my calls for help. Absolutely disappointed.
I absolutely DO NOT recommend Conroy for your move. I recently moved from Christchurch to Melbourne. All the items which I packed in my own boxes have arrived absolutely perfect. Unfortunately the items packed by Conroy with bubble wraps and with extra care marked as FRAGILE have been broken, my leather couches have cut on it. Adding to this couches arrived fine till Melbourne but the delivery person who was unwrapping them using sharp cutter made cuts in my couches. Pictures attached. My mirror was absolutely new still has price tag at the back of the mirror costed me $699 is broken.very non responsive, they absolutely do not want to take responsibility. No one responds to your emails , worst ever customer service. Nick Thompson and Debbie Beech kindly get this sorted ASAP. This is a sheer negligence from Conroy and you guys are responsible for this.
You started so well but the end service was terrible. We didn't get the service we paid for, family had to unload the truck at the end address as there were no unloaders available. They arrived eventually after finishing another job. Your managers must have double booked our team. Not good service at all. We feel like we are owed some money back as we did the job! The manager hasn't contacted us after we complained. Terrible customer service. I think a note to Fairgo for assistance might be in the offing.
Very disappointed, hired a truck with 3 men thinking that would be a good idea as my husband is close to 70 and didn't want him to be doing heavy lifting, but as the truck we had booked arrived 3 hours late to relocate us we had people parked at our driveway wanting to move in and we were under a lot of pressure so needed to get the job done. So he and our neighbour also an older person ended up lifting a lot more heavy items than they should have.
quoting person was verry helpful and pleasant . packers were very efficient and worked quickly .truck loaders seemed to be in another world .when truck unloaded many items had NO porotection around them .without my help unloading the truck we felt that we would have been here all day . very disapointing .
I made a formal complaint to Conroy's management team regarding our latest move with Conroys. Nothing has come of it and our issues have gone unresolved. We have used Conroys many times in the past but this experience is by far the worst in terms on how our goods were handeled. The packing was applalling resulting in smashed goods, and damage to a lot of our personal items. The boxes when delivered weren't labelled which made it alot more difficult to unpack and move in. Items such as food was mixed in with clothing causing stains and damage, heavy items were placed on top of lighter items causing damage. The total cost to move from Wellington to Christurch was 100% increase in the cost 2 year prior. Overall applalling service and would not reccomentd or use again. The rep that came to our place to discuss the above blamed us for Conroys errors and took absolutely no responsibility for anything.
We have moved international and national with Crown 4 times with absolutely no damages. We moved from Rolleston to Hamilton and have sustained multiple damages to 3 pieces of furniture, the dining table has damages to the table top because it was placed facing the container wall with one layer of moving blanket for protection, damages to the coffee table with multiple nicks to the legs and a storage unit that was wrapped in bubble wrap and literally fell apart as we removed the wrap. Linen was used as packing materials around kitchen crockery, multiple layers of paper was used to pack plastic containers which was wasteful and not necessary, this packing paper could have been used across the crockery not my linen. A priority box wasn't used, therefore we struggled to find all the bed legs and remotes etc as they weren't specifically itemised on the inventory list. The Auckland team unpacking us in Hamilton were great and commented on the really poor quality of packing when they found the furniture items damaged in the container. The overall communication needs to be improved, In Christchurch we received confirmation of packing/uplifting dates only to be told by the surveyor a week prior to packing it wouldn't be likely to the following month, however they did meet the packing date as confirmed. The communication in Auckland is good, however if settlement date is an important piece of information to have then the form should make that clear. Request Date does not mean the same as settlement date, when you haven't ever used Conroys the clients wont know that you dont unpack after midday if it conincides with settlement day. Other than that the Auckland team was great, the unpacking great were also great.
The team who packed up for us in Nelson did an excellent job. When it came to delivery in Chch it was abysmal,it was a breezy day and they didn't tie back the truck door resulting in an extremely precious piece of furniture being damaged and to add insult to injury the person who was pushing it out of the truck gave the furniture a brutal shove. It's an irreplaceable piece of furniture which was carefully wrapped in Nelson for us. Also I don't believe the chch crew have any sense,being a new build with a muddy drive area I would have put people inside with clean shoes and others ferrying the goods from the truck to them instead they trouped mud and dirt into the house.The nelson crew deserve 5 stars,but the chch delivery team ruined it for everyone.
Initial communication was good but then it was terrible.
1) I was charged $456 or similar amount for crating my TV. When it was picked up, it didn't crate. Just bubble wrapped and placed it in front of the container against all other weights followed by. They crated it at your yard.!
2) My $700 worth chair is missing. Your Australian branch says it hasn't arrived, and Auckland branch says they witnessed sending it. Then where is it?
They did some follow up and then there is no further update!!
How do I refer you to my mates who want to move overseas when your employees were such irresponsible?
I need my chair back or equivalent money.
