They knowingly sent a truck to collect my household goods that was damaged on the roof canopy. The consequences of this resulted in water entering the inside of the truck and destroying many of my precious items. Boxes were clearly labelled Fragile/ This Way Up and very carefully packed. Despite this my overlocker was stored on its side - sodden and smashed. My much loved wooden mahogony furniture was treated like rubbish. My beautiful Atlas sodden along with other books. I am still to complete the unpacking process.
Conroys paid me $500.00 to cover my huge losses. That was paid out reluctantly after many emails.
I would like to ask the question to Conroys - "who was responsible that day for sending out a damaged truck."
"Complete joke"
Lost one carton, damaged 2 more, and the delivery crew weren't able to assist in the unpacking (which had been charged as part of the full service) because they had 'forgotten' to bring their tools. Complete joke of a service and would never use these guys again or recommend anyone to do so either.
"hugely disappointed"
As a return customer I was hugely disappointed. I had recommended your service to my elderly mother in law, based on previous excellent service. This time - from the get go - nothing went right. 4 hours late with no communication. Arrival at destination - almost 48 hours behind time. At a stressful time - a removal company should maintain professionalism, a 'service' attitude, and strong communication. This was lacking. I suggest stronger liason between despatch and carriers ... it came across as poor logistics on Conroy's part..

"Fail"
Somewhat ironic I received the feedback request today given how upset I currently am with Conroy.
When I made arrangements I specified that the delivery date was important to me (pre christmas, going on holiday, lots of other arrangements made). I was given a packing / removing date the week before. The furniture was uplifted as planned.
Friday I email Conroy to check all is ok and ask to confirm delievery time on the Tuesday. Am told all is ok and I will hear from the Christchurch office. Sunday evening I send an email to Chch office. Monday lunchtime no reply so I phone Chch to be told there is a problem and it turns out a (at least) 2 day delay in delivering my furniture. THe furniture is now (hopefully) to be delivered on the day I am going on holiday.
While I understand that there are challenges in shipping goods at present due to closures of SH1 between Picton and Chch, I fail to see why Conroy could not have notified me of the delay. I would have delayed arriving in Chch. I am now out of pocket hotel costs and have spent about $500 changing flights as I had also arranged for my mother to fly down to help me unpack.
Again, when I requested Conroy to shift the furniture, I was doing it requesting a date of delivery. I was happy for the uplift to be earlier. Fail.
"don’t care about peoples property"
Truck turned up 1.5 hours late in Tauranga. We were told all furniture will be wrapped up in plastic, NO. IT WAS NOT. All boxes and furniture was supposed to be labelled, and an inventory was supposed to be taken. NO did not happen! Couch cushions were just thrown on the truck deck, and were jammed into holes. In the quote, we paid for 28 boxes, we were given 18. Were told the truck will arrive at destination between 2-4pm, It came from Napier, truck arrived at 6.30pm. (Paraparaumu) Fridge and washing machine scratched, on front of both. I hold the Management responsible. All you think about money, and don’t care about peoples property!!!
"communication was appalling"
I have used Conroy once before and had a really good experience and service. This time I don't know what went wrong but communication was appalling. Having been told you would arrive to upload furniture between 8 and 9 I was surprised that no one turned up til 1o'clock, which left a Conroy helper waiting for hours for the truck to come. I had to leave them to it as we were booked on a ferry. Then at the other end again no one could tell me when the truck was arriving and only after several phone calls did. I find anyone helpful. They also left a wardrobe and a chair behind despite it being on the list, and I still haven't heard how they intend to get these items to me.
This is no reflection on Gary the moving man who was pleasant and courteous at all times.
Thank you for this opportunity to air my grievances. Jane

Where is my son's gear? It has not arrived and there has been no communication at all!!!
"I have had a terrible experience"
I have had a terrible experience!!...from the movers turning up without boxes etc because someone changed my quote inc packing to pack your own when it was invoiced. Then having to contact you because I thought it was strange I had had no further communication after receiving shipping details to find out our goods had been sitting in chch for 6 weeks!! We have been living in our new apartment in Sydney for 2 weeks waiting for our things to arrive sitting in camping chairs and we had to buy an air bed kitchen things etc just to be able to live here. Still waiting for our delivery. Very upsetting considering I stayed in NZ for 4 weeks to allow our things to get to Sydney before me.
1 Star move
On my move from New Zealand to Australia, I dealt with Laura-Jayne Braithwaite. I was advised by her that I would be contacted the day before pick up, which was 24 October. As this was Labour Day, I guess thats why I didn't hear from her. On the morning of the 25th, when my goods were supposed to be picked up, I didn't hear from anyone. I sent Laura-Jayne an email asking what was happening and didn't get a response. I then sent her the following email (still no response), which I think covers all that happened.
"No reply from you today to my email, so I phoned the number on your site. Eventually got onto despatch in Auckland (I think). He said the guys were in Rotorua and would be here around 4pm. A Hiace van arrived thinking they were picking up empty boxes! They loaded my stuff into the van, then phoned their Tauranga boss, as they had no paperwork to give me. He asked them to get my email address and he would do an inventory tomorrow and send it to me. My stress levels are fairly high with this move anyway, and I expected a more professional service from you. I am certainly not impressed. I can't fault the guys who picked up. They were very pleasant and courteous. I hope all my gear arrives in Australia."
Thankfully my goods did arrive in Australia, and I can't fault the communication or the service this end.
I have waited since the 6th January (originally 30th December, but then re routed) for some indication of when my removals will arrive in Nelson. It is now the 19th January and I still can't get through to anyone who can give me a straight answer. This, in effect. has made me a prisoner in my own home for the best part of three weeks, just waiting for an indication of your delivery. You then have the cheek to send me a feed back form on your performance, when you still have not performed. This has been expensive, frustrating and unprofessional on your part.
