Awful Communication
Plenty of communication during the planning stage, I'd tendered several removal firms and although Conroy wasn't the cheapest it looked like the most professional. After the contract was signed the communication was pretty awful. I had to phone the dispatch branch repeatedly to find out when the removal team was going to arrive, they ended up being over 5 hours late on the day, not helpful during an already stressful move. When they did arrive they started without any real introduction or explanation and ended up removing the wrong stuff requiring it to be unpacked from the truck. At the other end I had to again phone the dispatch yard in Tauranga the day before the planned delivery to be told my stuff would be getting delivered first thing, I wonder if I hadn’t of phoned would the delivery team have arrived without warning?
The delivery team was very good however, very helpful phoning just before they arrived. My desk has been damaged, a big dent in the top, the delivery team suggested it was because the container moving from South Island to North Island was over packed. Thankfully nothing else appears to be damaged.
I will not be recommending.
Cheers,
Jamie
"mattresses were not wrapped"
We researched several moving companies and went with Conroy as you promise a professional packing and wrapping service. When our stuff was delivered a number of items were damaged but the most frustrating was that both our mattresses were not wrapped and they had been put right by the door which leaked and saturated our matresses.
The matresses were taken away and the communication with us about what was happening was shocking and I had to chase for answers. Was finally told they had been sent to chemdry for professional cleaning and treatment. The matresses came back still filthy with water damage, oil marks and one even has a giant footprint on it. This shows that our belongings has bir been treated with any kind of respect.
I am now trying to get answers from Conroy with regards to all of this and especially the unsatisfactory matresses but I am again meeting a lack of communication. This is not ideal when we cannot sleep on the matresses and we have a 7 week old baby - the reason we went with movers to make the process easy and stress free - which it has not been.

Really inpressed by the guys unloading the goods great friendly service 10 out of 10. Have rung a few times to see where the items where and continued to do this and the level of contact I made felt like my items where in great hands.
A Lot of Damage
We have had 5 international removals over the years and the quality of packing this one was shocking. This removal was from Sydney to Auckland and there was a lot of damage done some of which was insured some wasn't. For example an old family sewing machine handed to my wife by her mother was packed in a carboard carton on its own - no wrapping no bubble wrap nothing. The sewing machine occupied approx 30 % of the carboard box the rest was air and was smashed and unreparable. There ware many examples. There was a lot of damage done that couldn't be seen when first unwrapped like loose legs on chairs etc that all came down to poor wrapping.
Damaged Car
I am not a 'reviewer' but since receiving multiple email requests for feedback from Conroys (whilst I am still trying to sort out the mess they have created), leaving this 1 star feels somewhat premature however, if their company’s desperation for approval is desired, then, here is my feedback to you Conroys. My poor beloved Nissan ’92 300zx has been abused. If you understand the concept of meaningful attachment to ‘property’ don’t trust these people. They will avoid and dodge every possible responsibility (as they all do) and take one hell of a long time to respond. When it comes down to it, I want the thousands of dollars’ worth of damage to my car whilst in the ‘care’ of Conroys, (this is per quote from qualified Repairer, obtained the day after I collected her from the depot) properly acknowledged and addressed.Because I know that these are people working under a business name just doing their job, I cannot see the difficulty in it all. Respond, Initiate and complete. Job done.As I expect the standard day one business school automated response here “dear mr or ms X…. thank you for taking the time to complete our survey…” nonsense, I hold no hope that this review will do little more than drag down their percentage rating the tiniest bit, let alone convince someone considering their service to ‘use someone else’.I just wanted my car back as I left her. Now I have to stress over all the politics and protocols of the semi functioning complexity of a system of 24hour in your pocket back and forth, pass it on, delegate this to that person who will in turn throw it at someone else who may or may not get to it.Like the opening line suggests…. This has been and continues to be irritating and regretful. If you’re a human reading this feeling any kind of empathy / sympathy, turn around…I’m standing right behind you, confused brow, shaking my head.

"no communication"
We still don't have our goods. I was in contact with company last week and was told it would be delivered before the weekend. No goods and no communication. In the past your service has been great. Hopefully this is an aboration.

"woeful experience"
Suggest you speak to David Conroy who yet again has not come back to me regarding the woeful experience I had using Conroys. This survey came through not long after i unpacked and I was hoping for a positive outcome so my response to the survey could be positive. Unfortunately this has not been the case and i am several thousand dollars out of pocket as a firect result of using Conroy Removals. A shame because the Auckland crew who packed the truck were great. Regards Janine Berry
"Customer service was next to nothing"
Customer service was next to nothing i was told a whole different story from brisbane centre from what actually happened It has cost me way more than i was told $375 just to drop my good at house i thought that included unwrapping. Told car cleaned in brisbane before being shipped i just got a bill for $825 to clean it The wrapping is still in my garage so i cant use it Im not happy with the whole thing
"Terrible move"
Terrible move - multiple items not packed up, ended up requiring a whole day off work following the move to chase up and get relocation finished. Very disappointed.
A few years back we had a great move with Conroy Removals. We decided to move with you again, but this has been a complete disaster. We moved from our apartment in October 2016, this was poorly done and probably set up the problems that we have since encountered. Most of our furniture was to go into storage and selected items were to be returned to us in an apartment which we could move into late November 2016. In spite of two reminder calls by me to the Porirua Branch the move seemed to be overlooked. The guys turned up with half of our gear and brought most of the rest the next day. Three cartons were not returned, the wrong dressing table arrived, it was subsequently damaged in front of me by the young man who pushed it along the carpet.
We knew some of the items which were missing and asked to claim under our insurance with you but you refused. We went through our property in storage and found no sign of the 3 missing cartons, I did find 2 cases of my wine that had been left in your office because you did not know which client it belonged to.
Your firm still refused to meet our claim stating that you would only accept a claim when all property had been delivered. So far it has cost over $2000 to replace the missing items.
On Monday 2 October 2017 you delivered our property from storage to our new house. We have not unpacked everything, but at this stage 6 items of furniture have been damaged or smashed beyond repair. Also two large serving dishes have been broken. Our double bed is badly damaged and your manager came out to assess the damage. He arranged for a vehicle to collect it the next day. at 4.45pm when no vehicle had turned up I phoned your Wellington dispatch and was told that it would arrive between 5.30 and 7.00pm. I waited until 8.00pm. You have no after hours contact number, and the driver did not bother to call me to say he would not come. The bed and broken furniture still has not been uplifted although we have an arrangement for it to uplifted tomorrow between 1.00 pm and 3.30pm. I will be making a special visit out to the house to open it up so the bed and furniture can be collected. I truly hope that will not be a journey in vain.
Your firm has a lot to put right, I have paid over $10,000 for a very poor removal and storage service.
