We had a very poor experience with Conroy. Which is a shame because our first experience two weeks ago was superb, when they moved our contents from storage to our home. This experience was very different. The truck turned up with just a driver, and he informed us that his mate had packed a sad and not turned up. He then decided he coudn't back down our steep driveway - the previous week, the truck had managed to back all the way down (we had informed Conroy to bring a small truck, but they brought a large one). So everything had to be carried down our long driveway. We suggested using a trolley - but driver told us that the trolley had been stolen, so he didnt have one. We had to help him by backing my car and loading up boxes and driving them down to our house. Conroys were supposed to unpack everything and take away boxes. The driver didnt do any of this. But simply offered to come back and take away empty boxes later. All in all, a very unprofessional move and disappointing after our first good experience. I think there's some compensation due.
"too unprofessional"
This was our 6th move in 5 years with Conroys. 4 of these moves have been international due to career moves. This was the worst move and it was a short domestic move. They did not provide the standard mattress bags or other packaging that we were told would be coming at our request and after many phone calls communicating our needs. They misquoted us after telling us that yes, they do have our inventory from our previous moves and then sent a container that was too small. The only redeeming feature of this move was the two lovely guys who unpacked our container at the other end. They were fabulous! They were so helpful, witty, never rushed us, made us feel better after a disaster of a move and we give a big big shout out to Ethan and "Mr Shrewsbury- Steve" - you guys are the best! Sadly though, after spending approx $30,000 with Conroys over the last few years, we won't be using them again for a move. It was just too unprofessional this time and made our stressful situation way more stressful.
Awful Services
Conroy's services are so so awful!!! Our goods left from Japan 28th August, and arrived to my house was 17th November!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can not believe it!!!!
I don't want to recommend Conroy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"disgusting treatment of clients items"
To be given a truck driver to pack our items and then roll our expensive oven from the back room to the front door was disgusting treatment of clients items. The headache dealing with processing the insurance claim afterwards and still dealing with to replace our damaged oven and dented fridge. Being such a big company we expected better, never again. All items in boxes were thrown around, paperwork is in a total mess inside. Wondering how much longer I'm going to argue over damages or if will need to take further action. Also in future sent professional packers, your truck driver thought hilarious he was sent to pack and badly pack at that.
Terrible Communication
The communication has been terrible with your company. Our drier was left behind which I had to chase up, it eventually turned up one day and was left out the front of our house, without a phone call or email. We still have 2 missing items, a vacuum cleaner and a brand new rocking chair for breast feeding my baby. I have had no communcation as to where these items are, an apology or an update to what I need to do if these items are not located.
We used your service because when we had our items shipped from Australia with your company it was seamless and professional. This time round it has not been the case.
Kind regards
Anni and Jarod
Terrible Communication
I want to complain about the level of customer service I have received throughout this process. It was fantastic throughout the quoting process, right up until payment was made. I was told I would receive confirmation of payment, I didn't. I requested delivery for the 6/11/2017 and was told that shouldn't be a problem and someone from operations would call me, they didn't. I called on the 6th (expected day of delivery) to be told that deliveries don't happen in New Plymouth on Monday. It would have been helpful if someone had just told me this previously. I then got told I would be called back to be given a day/time of delivery. Noone called, I called again and got told I would be called back. Someone called back only to tell me they would call me back around 3pm to confirm, you guessed it, no one called me back. I called first thing this morning to follow up, and yet again got told someone would call me back once they got settled at the office. Two hours later no one called, so I had to follow up yet again. I Was finally told that I should expect the goods on Wednesday 8/11/17 at 10:30am. If I was told this at some point previously I could have arranged my schedule accordingly. The truck turns up with our stuff So we are glad that it was finally over.. then our rug is missing. I call the Auckland depot only to be told someone would call me back! I had given up on being called back by this point, but still held out a little hope. Noone called me back. Took 2 days to even figure out what had happened to the rug. I've been told it's on its way this week, although I'm not holding my breath. It has been a terrible experience for my wife and I as we try and settle into our new home. Again, it's not the fact that it came on a day other than the 6th, it's the fact that no one was ever able to give us an answer. And no one ever called us back to let us know what was going on.
"poor service is off-putting"
I specifically asked if I could move from Wellington at a specific time and have delvery on a specific day in Auckland. If this was not possible, I told them to tell me so before I booked but I was assured it was OK. As I am in Auckland I paid someone to come and open up the unit for me where my household goods are stored. He was paid to arrive from half an hour before the promised time and for two hours after. By the time he left no one had arrived. When he called he was told they were held up in traffic which is a lie as it does not take 3 hours to get from Hutt Valley to Thorndon and the traffic was light that day. Lying is unforgivable. I then had to make other arrangements. When I rang to complain they promised me all would be OK for Friday. On Friday I took a day off work to open up but in the morning they rang and said they were too busy and could not deliver until the following week, leaving me with nowhere to stay over the weekend. I rang and gave you a piece of my mind but it took 3 attempts for anyone to ring me back. Eventually Fiona Conroy rang and miraculously I got a Saturday delivery. It did not reassure me to be told that I had been underquoted for the job as they had not realised it was an apartment (with a number like 1114/145 in the address part of the form I find this hard to believe). However after complaining you agreed to waive the extra fee that was intended. The guys who delivered were delightful and did a great job. They were the only part of the move that I was happy with. Lying is unethically, poor service is off-putting. My next move in three months will be with someone else.
"Truck turned up 2 hours late"
Truck turned up 2 hours late, loading didnt finisn until 8pm not all items were taken even though another small truck arrived. arrival at destination was 2 hours late as they were diverted to Huntly to assist another crew. We had to hire a self drive van to shift balance, you will be getting the bill for this. We were concerned about the dangerous narrow loading ramp and the difficulties this caused. The crew did their best in the circumstances.
Damaged Item
I had only one item shipped from New Zealand to the United kingdom, when it arrived it was damaged, the quotation to repair this was £108.00.
Unfortunately I paid for the insurance the sum of NZ £150.00 and there was an exces of NZ $250, I obviously thought long and hard whether this was worth doing and in the end I paid this in the advent that the one item may not have been delivered, lost or suffered serious damage.
So I would advise any anyone who wishes transport a single item not to use Conroys as they cannot provide adequate packing, that will ensure that the item arrives at it destination undamaged.
When I conntacted them re the damage, it was just pointed that the claim was invalid, as there was a NZ$ 250.00 excess and I received no appology regarding the damage. I also emailed regarding the damage and as on yet I have not received a reply.

"omplete lack of follow up"
Unfortunately, Conroy managed to lose three items and damage a coffee table. Additionally, a foot for the fridge was lost in the move. The thing that bothers me the most about this is the complete lack of follow up. We were told that we should call the office to ask about the lost items. The office should be calling us and trying to rectify the situation.
Truck was late rang several days prior to confirm 8:30 was told by dude on the phone it would be more like 8:00 am I starting ringing about 9:15 and couldn’t get hold of anyone rang 3 different No’s had to leave messages truck finally turned up with a container on it we had 43 cube and container was only 38 cube guys that turned up seamed to be on a go slow the boss guy talked to much and held as up from unpacking and when they leave they didn’t know where they are going plus they scratched and put a dent in our fridge I got the impression that our job had been forgotten and had to be put together at last minute we aren’t happy
