"the worst service I have received"
I am not exaggerating here, but the service from Conroys was, by far, the worst service I have received from any company for anything.
After paying the invoice and booking the date for pick up (14 December), I had to chase the company every step of the way to confirm times you would be arriving. I was told sometime between 1400-1600hrs. At 15:15 I was told that everyone was running late and could the pick up be done the next day. This was not possible as I was leaving Christchurch on the morning of the 15th. I selected the 14th for pick up as this was the only day that it could be done. If you couldn't do it, you needed to tell me that a lot earlier than 15:15hrs on the day that you agreed to. I had an appointment at 18:30, so I required the movers to be at the property at the time that you had stated earlier. I called your dispatch twice to follow up on the arrival time, but they were not forthcoming with answers and said that "they didn't have time" to communicate arrival times. Your movers didn't arrive until 16:44. I had requested in the quote that some items of furniture needed to be wrapped. They said they they were going to load it in the truck and do it at the base. Consequently, my lowboy is now damaged and is subject to an insurance claim.
My goods arrived on the morning of the 21st December. The drawing board, which I asked to be handled with care, is now completely rooted as your movers had absolutely no respect for it; and a part crucial to the operation of it has been unscrewed from it and is now missing. Other mechanisms were also badly damaged. The movers had no answers.
Two parts of my bed are missing and cannot be assembled. I understand that you have found one, or possibly two parts and will be delivering these. However another part is damaged and if this results in not being able to assemble the bed then it will require full replacement.
I understand that I have seven days to make the insurance claim, including providing quotes for replacement items, but this will be impossible to do within the time frame over the Christmas period (the drawing may need to be sourced from overseas). Therefore I will require dispensation to complete this claim when everyone is back from holiday. I will submit a claim tomorrow when I return to Auckland, with indicative costs for all damaged items.
Overall, your removal company has demonstrated complete lack of care for my items and a lack of professionalism and is not worthy of anyone's business. I will go out of my way to discourage anyone considering using your "removal company". I expect the insurane claim to be settled by you as smoothly as possible, despite the timing of this claim being difficult during the holiday season.
"Very poor performance"
Very poor performance, was late on delivery and a lack of communications, no one called me to say they were running late so i was waiting around for a couple hours. I paid for a door to door service but with all the mucking around and excuses from conroy i ended up just doing most of the unpacking myself. Would not use conroy again.
"numorous items broken"
Boxes was dropped and numorous items broken.....TV and dressing table, Frying pan. Not very happy and will not use Conroy again.
"Incredibly disappointed"
Incredibly disappointed that having paid for professional packers that some furniture items were very damaged and an item is missing - not happy.
"totally let down"
We were totally let down by your company. A container on top of a flat deck was sent to move our items. The container was full in just over one hour and then we had wasted time moving the truck between houses. Although there were 3 guys one was an inexperienced young man who didn’t even know how to use a sack barrow. After ringing the company and complaining we were given extra time. The guys that came out were amazing and worked very hard to do the best they could under the circumstances. We would like to thank them for their fantastic efforts, unlike the management.

As per my emails that continue to not be appropriately responded to this move has been appalling.
I have used Conroy to move at least 5 times before. My family have also used Conroy for decades. Never again.
Simply appalling - no ownsership of the customer relationship. So incompetent I am beginning to think it has to be deliberate. If there was a regulator of your industry I would have referred you to them.
For now I will just make sure that I give you a Dog & Lemon guide of "Avoid like the Plague". I am very sad it has come to this.

"very unhappy with it all"
Many items were broken during move. Large gauges in walls in old home. Moving truck hit and damaged house. Basicly crap crap service very unhappy with it all.

Truck was late rang several days prior to confirm 8:30 was told by dude on the phone it would be more like 8:00 am I starting ringing about 9:15 and couldn’t get hold of anyone rang 3 different No’s had to leave messages truck finally turned up with a container on it we had 43 cube and container was only 38 cube guys that turned up seamed to be on a go slow the boss guy talked to much and held as up from unpacking and when they leave they didn’t know where they are going plus they scratched and put a dent in our fridge I got the impression that our job had been forgotten and had to be put together at last minute we aren’t happy
We had a very poor experience with Conroy. Which is a shame because our first experience two weeks ago was superb, when they moved our contents from storage to our home. This experience was very different. The truck turned up with just a driver, and he informed us that his mate had packed a sad and not turned up. He then decided he coudn't back down our steep driveway - the previous week, the truck had managed to back all the way down (we had informed Conroy to bring a small truck, but they brought a large one). So everything had to be carried down our long driveway. We suggested using a trolley - but driver told us that the trolley had been stolen, so he didnt have one. We had to help him by backing my car and loading up boxes and driving them down to our house. Conroys were supposed to unpack everything and take away boxes. The driver didnt do any of this. But simply offered to come back and take away empty boxes later. All in all, a very unprofessional move and disappointing after our first good experience. I think there's some compensation due.
"too unprofessional"
This was our 6th move in 5 years with Conroys. 4 of these moves have been international due to career moves. This was the worst move and it was a short domestic move. They did not provide the standard mattress bags or other packaging that we were told would be coming at our request and after many phone calls communicating our needs. They misquoted us after telling us that yes, they do have our inventory from our previous moves and then sent a container that was too small. The only redeeming feature of this move was the two lovely guys who unpacked our container at the other end. They were fabulous! They were so helpful, witty, never rushed us, made us feel better after a disaster of a move and we give a big big shout out to Ethan and "Mr Shrewsbury- Steve" - you guys are the best! Sadly though, after spending approx $30,000 with Conroys over the last few years, we won't be using them again for a move. It was just too unprofessional this time and made our stressful situation way more stressful.
Worst service experience of my life. Do not choose Conroys. They got our furniture separated into 3 different lots and our couch was lost and ended up back in Australia. They did not contact us once regarding this whole process. I did the chasing. Called Fiona Conroy left a message as I was instructed to- but no response - promises of compensation but nothing to show for it. Slept a week on the floor because they lost our mattress, TV half the couch and a ladies bike. Got those back but the couch was still lost - after six weeks we finally got the couch back. Paid our insurance but they didn’t want to give us anything for having half of an L shaped lounge lost for six weeks either. Felt totally neglected and our belongings were entirely not valuable to them. Just the worst service experience ever.
