Disappointing move
We have used Conroys for house moves many times now but the latest move has resulted in very poor time management ( which we were compensated for)and damage to some of our goods which has never happened in the past. Now we have to pay the excess on furniture that was damaged due to lack of care by Conroys staff. Bit like your car insurance charging you the excess when another party has crashed into your car. Not really fair i think. It seems that the good old days of Derek Purver when 3 staff turned up to load and unload are gone and someone thinks it best to only send 2 staff and the customer helps to unload the truck. Shame to see such an organised firm go downhill.

You lost one of our boxes. How did you think I was going to score you? Just because you don't chose insurance doesn't mean that a customers possessions should be treated any differently. I have spent close to 10k with Conroy over 3 years and your service has deteriorated rapidly. Our movers turned up in Wellington to a 3rd floor appartment without a trolley, luckily I had one...they broke it. It's a pity, the ladies that I've dealt with in the office are wonderful, unfortunately your service doesn't do their good work any justice.

Sorry to say but the staff that were supplied for this job were very unprofessional, slow, joking while mucking around and not happy to the point where I will be contesting the invoice. Please get the manager to ring me.

As per my call the guys we had this time wer awful. The worst was they returned to where we were moving from and walked into the house without knocking and Alisha was inside amd had just had a shower. They were in the laundry washing hands and it is completely unacceptable. They also took an age to move and not helped by one sitting on a chair in the garage for around 30 mins on the phone. At the new house the builders wouldnt let them in the house as they had no confident they wouldnt trash it when carrying things around

From the moment we dropped the trailer off it had been a disaster. My Mrs left her wallet on the trailer inside your loading shed in Melb, it got taken out of there & the couple hundred $ cash taken from it in, then chucked on the footpath out front of loading yard & office. I always asked for a drop off to Melb, delivery from Conroy to Dunedin. I was never given any paper work or quotes that said Melb to Christchurch. All the paper work I was sent were invoices saying that the delivery would be to Dunedin. Not once did I receive a quote saying Melb to Christchurch until I was told I had to pick the trailer up from Christchurch. From leaving our goods supposedly in trusted hands, to have my Mrs money stolen & then to not be completely filled in on depot to depot information. I won't be recommending Conroy to anyone & I'll be making sure any of my family or friends that are coming & going from Oz or NZ won't be using Conroy either.

Staff very helpful before I signup. No communication after. Conroy suppose to contact me a day before delivery to my address in Auckland from storage. No ph call have to contact them. I was not told of the $45 fee to view my stuff in storage. Warehouse staff not competent and hard to get hold of on the phone. auckland

Initial experience fine it is what happened to our processions once they left our home and the damage that has been caused through negligence on Conroy’s behalf.
Not a Good Experience
Despite promises not to shift the big items down the narrow stairs, and use the alternative of lowering them out the window (as arranged, and why we paid for two extra people on the day) they gouged a large hole in the stair wall, tried to cover it with tape, didn't tell us, and then when the office was contacted, failed to phone the new owner and offer to fix it. As of six weeks later this still hadn't happened, much to our embarrassment.
Moving in also had its problems. One filing cabinet has been dropped and had a large dent, pushing the bottom drawer out of line so it wouldn't close. The movers must have noticed this when putting it into the office, but didn't tell us. It was unfixable because so badly damaged. We have had to buy a new one. Cheapest available $251.
We still can't file the keys to each cabinet. THey should have been taped to the side or at least in a box clearly marked.
We will have to buy two new ones (cost apparently $25 each)

You damage my fridge during the move and the insurance that I took out to cover for things like this is declined.
Packers and Truck were Late
Packers were late. Removal truck was late. They were going to leave boxes behind. The packers didn't empty any of the kitchen and bathroom cupboards and left a clock on the wall. Coffee table was broken. The packing was done without thought just dumping stuff from different rooms in the same box. All the cables and attachments for the tvs and the computer were all jumbled up and we still haven't sorted them all out.
...The actual team who came to the house provided a good service. But this was truly let down by the following...
...on the morning, Tuesday 12 June 2018 the delivery of our shipment was made to our house. However, we never received notification that this delivery would take place. This is quite surprising that no one waited for any kind of confirmation from me, despite us not even knowing this date for delivery. And I’m surprised the delivery went ahead anyway.
On that morning, it was by absolute chance that I was leaving for work when the shipment arrived - just as I was driving away from the house I asked a group of men what they were looking for as the wondered around the street. Transpires, they were looking for me.
Also, upon unpacking, it transpires that several items have been broken or damaged. Either in transit or during the customs search of our shipment.
Very soon I will send the list and photographs of the broken / damaged items. I will seek to have these items replaced or some kind of reimbursement via the insurance that we activated for this shipment.
Please advise on the next steps required to file this insurance claim for broken and damaged items.
